    Hey thanks for the vid nice job..do you usually brew 10 gallon or larger batches seems like 20 gallon is too big for 5 gallon batches

      Thanks! I usually do 6-6.5 gallon batches to account for volume loss when going to secondary then kegging. It is good for a small batch, but I did notice that when I create my recipe in beer smith I usually add more water to the first mash step so it can cover all the grain. there is about 1.5 gallon of dead space under the false bottom.

    Nice review Chris. I see they just came out with an updated edition with Triclamps so these are back on sale. Now that you've used it would you say the false bottom drain port is too small? Say if you're cleaning and just want to drain it faster. It looks downright tiny. Also a concern if you're recirculation cleaning or whatever, low flow to the pump.

      The limiting factor is not the valve but the barbed nozzle (?). It was replaced with an appropriate sized QuickDetach fitting and that increased the flow rate. I don’t want to drain it too fast either, when you pull liquid through the grains it’s not as efficient as if you let us settle and drain by gravity. I bet the inefficiency is insignificant though. Hope that answers your question.

      @@chrislane1469 Yeah that helps. I was also thinking about doing cleaning cycles and such, you want a lot of water moving through there.
