Always one of my favorite bands. Impressive once again. There is nothing like a marching band that really marches. Congratulations on a wonderful show.
They sounded adequate throughout the drill before the finale, but their sound just wasn't where it needed to be. Tuning problems almost everywhere, low brass splatting notes, and articultions not clean. In my opinion they definitely earned a 2.
I like watching the Longview band and I'm impressed that they have maintained the military style. The overall performance had a quite a few rough patches.
They're very good but I wish they would focus more on their sound. They have good dynamics and all but the playing is very sloppy at times, especially on runs and at times with a random trombone or trumpet really blasting and sticking out. Still really good but could be better soundwise. And the drum majors marking time on the sideline looks pretty silly; they should just stand there and direct.
Agree. They sound really terrible at the end, the trumpets especially missed the high notes and the tuning was poor. Also agree about the drum majors-- they look silly marching in place like that.
Sondra Crawford I agree, I watched that performance, and yall have done really well all year, and truly this was a good performance from what was done all day.
As Pete Kunkel would say, this is like a grind-all fish, the more you chew, the sloppier it gets. I'm sure that Mr. Kunkel must be rolling in his grave. Not what it used to be.
True but we improved and our tone quality is better and more balanced because of that we have a 69th consecutive so yeah things change but we strive to do better. When we watched our video we we're all so proud because one of the judges said "The Longview Band is Back" towards the end which you probably won't see it until later on and i'm glad I marched. Ooh and THANK YOU @blasey ford for speaking infront of us today and telling us what it was like when you were in the band, and we will see you guys at the playoffs.

Honestly I'm surprised they got a 1. In my experience sounding that bad, especially at the end, usually ends up in a 2.

Coming from a former member I don't know why the hell they played the end like that. It did not sound good at all. We never did anything like that.

Not a bad performance but ive seen better performances by the mean green marching machine.
