    I have mostly used my Headrush pedalboard with one FRFR 112 speaker in live gig situations. I will tell you it totally changed my life because of the articulation of the sound output of this unit and the FRFR112. It suddenly gave me the sound of playing along to recorded music in headphones. Such a great stage sound. I was shocked. Even our drummer said it sounded amazing. I'll never go back to a head and cabinet situation again live. Loved the video and I agree with you. So easy to use.

    • @GuitarCinemaOfficial
      @GuitarCinemaOfficial  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can run it through the FX Loop of your existing amp but you wont be able to use cab sims/IR's and a few other things, basically missing out on the potential of the unit. Best bet is an affordable FRFR speaker. Headrush do a 108 for around £180 that is insanely loud! There are also budget FRFR options from other brands now but I can't speak to their quality..

    Great video, also fellow UK filmmaker and HR user!
    I was wondering if you have had an issue with getting the tone right when it comes to recording. I play through 2 monitor speakers via the 1/4" jack outputs and it sounds great and that's how I adjust stuff. But when putting into DAW mode or recording into Reaper with the LIVE setting, it starts to sound like its clipping somewhere and not getting the full dynamic range that I think it should be. I've tried adjusting all of the gain settings to try and get it to sound the same but it just doesn't.
    Any tips would be greatly appreciated!

    • @GuitarCinemaOfficial
      @GuitarCinemaOfficial  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello mate good to hear from a fellow UK Lensman. I can tell you that I record almost solely with my Headrush, however I never use it as an Interface. I take an XLR out of the full Rig sound and run it into my Focusrite interface. I then use the alternate output setting on the 1/4" out to set to "Rig In" to record a Clean DI at the same time. There are so many variables at play when using the HR as your Interface perhaps you could try getting an affordable XLR to USB Interface and recording that way to see if it solves your problem.

And my XLR out is from the Rig out for the full modelled sound. I don't see why you couldn't do an amp return and to the PA. Depending where in the signal path youd want it taken from.

    I have been using a Helix LT for about a year now, I dont record with it, I only use it for gigs. Today I visited a GC and they had a used Headrush Gigboard for sale, I figured what the heck...if I dont like it I can return it. Well I have been playing the unit all day and it really is allot easier and faster to get a great tone out of it. The stock cabs are definitely better then the Line6 and require less tweaking. The HR SLO amp is outstanding and way better then he Helix version of that amp. I am using HR 108 power speakers with the unit, had them already and use them with my Kemper and Helix. The Headrush is a hidden gem, its a great unit and I do believe it sounds better then the Helix (more real amp like), and takes less effort to get a great tone. I will be returning this Gigboard and will purchase the full Pedalboard version. As you mentioned, there are many available in the 700 range used. That's a steal for this great unit.

      Totally agree mate. Puzzles me the amount of hype around the inteface on the new Quad Cortex when it's literally a less attractive version of the Headrush UI that's already been out for 3 years? The SLO model is filthy! Best of luck snapping up a used PB. I've watched some go for less than the price of a new Gigboard last few months.

    Hey there. Just found your videos as I am considering entering the world of multi effects/amp modelers. Love the videos. So, as I said, thinking of ditching my pedalboard and many amp heads and cabs and venture to these. I'm deciding between the headrush, boss gx100 & gt1000. My question is, what is the best way to hook up for live performances. Through an amp and cab or something different. Please help, for this is new territory for me. Thanks, again... great job.

    • @GuitarCinemaOfficial
      @GuitarCinemaOfficial  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello mate, welcome to the channel and thanks for watching! The key thing that a lot of people get caught out by when first entering the modelling world is to remember that these modelling units will NOT drive a speaker cab on their own. You will either need to run them into a powered FRFR speaker like the Headrush 108 or 112 or run them into your own Power Amp ( A great affordable pedal based solution being the Harley Benton GPX100). You of course can use these units with a traditional amp either by running them direct into front or using the 4 Cable Method but IMO this will hold you back from getting the most out of your modeller as you will not be able to use the amp modelling to it's full potential. Hope this helps!

    You're English so I'll let you in on a secret. Nobody likes the Jets, not even Jets fans. As for the board, I use it strictly as a pedal board, no modeling. It runs into the wet of a wet/dry set up using combos, and it makes the whole thing work. The only criticism I have is the wah, it's too stiff. I guess that's why it has a port for your own wah. But I agree, for $650 used, 2 years after this video, it's even more of a steal now. They're sold out everywhere and not many used ones on the market. Not in good shape, anyway. At first it was frustrating until I learned all the spots you can adjust the tone, and which eq or tone setting to use for a given correction. But after that leaning curve, man you can really dial in the sound of everything like a surgeon. Every day I play and it sounds great. If I do find something I want to tweak, it's literally the slightest tweak. There's a button on the back for Rack or Stomp. Most of the time I'm hearing something I don't like, if it's not the bright switch on the amp I hit that switch and it goes away. I guess some days are Rack days, and some days are for Stomp...
