I would have liked the coffee brew comparison too. Meaning, when you brew coffee in both - is the strength, taste, etc. similar? Or does one taste/extract flavor better over the other? Thanks.
Have had a Bonavita for about 3 years now, and won't go back. Coffee is consistently fantastic (even when I screw it up it's drinkable and fairly tasty) and cleaning is a snap. Thinking about getting a new one, but don't wanna just dump this amazing piece of machinery at Goodwill, so I'll probs use it until it breaks, which I hope never happens. Great investment, 10/10 would recommend.
I have owned the TV KBT-741 w/SwissGold filter for over 5 years and it has not missed a beat, I prefer the copper heating element and I use the flow switch to create a immersion brew by shutting it off and allowing the grinds to steep before opening the flow switch.
Just got the Bonavita from Christmas. Love. It too brews coffee in 5 minutes ( I timed it). While both coffee makers are great, I asked for the Bonavita because it was only $130 on Amazon, and due to its lower profile, it fits under my kitchen cabinets. The water is dispensed from the hot water dispenser in an undulating broad pattern. This I surmise is due to the basket filter and therefore to ensure consistent coffee ground saturation. The resultant coffee is very smooth. The one drawback from both makers is the relatively small amount of coffee they make. Basically 8 cups versus 10 cups. For 3 people in the morning, that isn't enough especially if you are also bringing coffee in the car to work. so i make a 2 cup french press. The Techniform is a beautiful machine and really a piece of art. If you have the money and counter space, I would consider that.
James Chan the Seattle Coffee Gear people are no doubt thrilled and deeply satisfied that you bought your machine from Amazon. Thanks for letting the world know that for you, price comes first.
Still leaning toward the Technivorm . I will wait and see if the match the other coffee makers added feature , though . That 5 year warrantee vs the 2 year warrantee speaks to build quality .
I know that’s a coffee bean on the wall, but I always see it and think “deer hoofprint.” 😊 Very nice comparison. We just purchased that same Moccamaster model in polished silver (our first really quality coffee maker). Looking forward to trying it out tomorrow!

+JumboJimofFortWorth We did a 3 hour test. The Technivorm cooled 24 degrees in that time, while the Bonavita cooled 26 degrees. We were impressed at the amount of steam that billowed out of both carafes after the 3 hours! This of course assumes you are not opening and closing the carafes during the that 3 hours. Hope that answers your question!
Gail... I'm thinking of buying a Bonavita. I currently have a Walmart Bunn. The coffee is meh... I place a thermometer under water when it was coming out it read 186°. I've already replaced the heating element once. My question.. of I get the 8 cup Bonavita how many grams of coffee do I use/ cup (according to the lines on the side). I'm going to purchase a scale too!
I discovered this by accident on my Bonavita . Inside of the lid that goes onto the coffee pot, is as about as nasty as it gets. Bugs and other nasty debris gets inside. Fortunately this top piece comes off easy enough. Just give it a slight twist and it pops off easily. But do not be surprised by how disgusted you're going to be.

Love my Technivorm Moccamaster. Hand made in the Netherlands.

I love that you can wash the spray arm on this coffee maker gave up on out hint for the best coffee maker when we found this one

I couldnt be happier with my Bonavita...coffee's consistently good each time
Love my Technivorm!!!
The technivorm brew lid is not to retain heat. The extension funnel’s purpose is to gently circulate the coffee as it fills the carafe.
That's for the comparison, it's was super helpful in making a decision.
Happy to help!

Is the 5 cup version of the Bonavitia also SCAA approved like the 8 cup version?
Technically not, but last we heard it was in the process of being approved
How long does each carafe keep the coffee warm for?

tast test please!
Can we have a taste test video with these coffee makers vs a French press and Bodum pebo? If you already did one of these, please let me know
Is there a version of the Bonita with an automatic timer and if so is it the same as the 1900TS with the pre infusion feature?
Is it worth it to spend extra for the Technivorm?
That would be up to you!
Notice you guys now carry the Moccamaster Grand Thermal Carafe...lets see a demo :) I have it love that it has a flat bottom grounds catcher
Gail can you do a pause and stir with Bonavita.
You can not stop the brewing cycle to stir, although you might be able to time it just right between water additions!

70 grams of coffee for a full 8 cups is a great starting point! Check out this video: th-cam.com/video/sTqLE4hT0wM/w-d-xo.html
Seattle Coffee Gear thank you! subscribed.
Haven't you reviewed these two already?
WE love GAIL!
Wish you guys were in Australia!
Great info
+Orrin Belcher Cheers!
How is this a review of two coffee makers, without reviewing the two resulting coffee brews?

Why does the filter basket stay with the carafe on bonavita?
What a horrible design.
Why?
The Netherlands is the official name, not Holland!!!
Not Holland, it is The Netherlands. Holland is just one region of the Country called The Netherlands!!!!
