Thank you so much for actually showing us how to make the form! I watched a video by P Alan Smith that said it would show you how to make a plinth and he skipped every step except for pouring concrete! You took us through every step!
First part reminded me of when I had to hand cut and roll sod at a golf course I worked at. Never thought grass could be so heavy. Also, really enjoyed the format with no narration.
Jon, love the videos. Thought I'd share something with you that you might like to know. I work for a bagged concrete producer. If you use concrete 5000 or Sakrete Maximizer, you'll get a smoother finish on the sides and be less likely to see aggregate as well. These contain more cement powder and leave a smoother finish. Also some taps with a rubber mallet will help the concrete settle in the box. You share your expertise, so I thought i'd share mine. Thanks for the videos.
Nicely done on the block and good to see the kids involved. That's a big lawn! Who keeps it so nice and plush? I'm guessing you have an auto spreader to pull behind a lawn tractor and the boy gets allowance to do it?
I'm so glad I've come across your videos! Please keep up the fine work. I really like your down-to-earth presentation style, and you seem to bristle with innovation and skills - reminds me of my own dad :)
Thankyou, most helpful! I see you are a Jersey guy...very cool. Union County for some years myself....we will be using your technique....again, many thanks....:)
Thinking of making something like this for the inside of my wooden shed to put a ground anchor in for my bikes (as i have a wooden floor?) ..do you think this would be a solid despite not being below ground level.. Was going to make it about 2×1×1 ft in a wood frame and secure to the shed frame internally.. Mind you the weight of 2 cubic feet of concrete wont be going anywhere in a hurry.. 😂
Hey Jon! Great to see the kids included in this project. It teaches them more than we realize!
Scott Cable Thanks Scott

Jesse Bridges So Heavy! , thanks Jesse
For something like that, I use a palm sander or reciprocating saw on the side to vibrate the air bubbles out of the sides.
Heavyboxes That's a great Idea, Thanks
@@JonPetersArtHome I can't tell all those four equal sides
Your work is pure excellence my friend. Pleasure watching your videos. Thanks for sharing!
What an artistic ending. Would have been nice to see you put up the sculpture.
In not used to videos that give me exactly what I came for. Thank you
Your work is always systematic, tidy, and extremely well planned and executed. A true pleasure to watch. Thank you for sharing!

abuehn Good to know, Thank you
Such a great--concise video. Thanks for this!
Great job Jon. Nice to see the kids involved in the project. Mine will not get in front of the camera. I have a spread as well, 7 & 15.
RetroWeld Thanks Douglas, Michael is a big help with outdoor projects and he doesn't mind being on camera . yeah that is a spread : )
How do you do that . You have so green grass without flowers and weeds . fantastic
Artur Szopa Thanks Artur
***** I was wondering this same when I watch video. Keep up great work.
Well done, Jon. I see you probably had a father like mine who insisted on cleaning up all the tools before the concrete set on them.
Steve Collins Thanks Steve, yeah that's for sure you cant let that happen.
Amazing how heavy sod is. Nice bike ride!
***** sure is, Thanks Geoff
Enjoyed a full-watch, Jon. Thanks for the video.
Jon! another great video mate, thanks a million.
Thanks!
Never thought to sharper up my yard tools with my grinder..thanks
Nicely done Sir, !

MRrwmac I go around the outside twice and do the weed whacker than Michael cuts the rest at $8 an hour, takes him about an hour.

perfect and just what i needed! thanks for making the clip.
After next winter (frost) I'm pretty sure it is not going to be level anymore.
You obviously have a talent but a bit of explanation of what/ how your making things would make it more interesting

Great job! How many bags did it take?
Nice video
You're a bit outgunned in the concrete pouring department today by Alain Vaillancourt :) But still, nice work.
MrPanohead I'm sure , I will check him out. Thanks
***** With so many woodworkers on TH-cam there's bound to be one that is about to or has just done a similar project.
How long did you let this set before you took off the forms and rounded the corners with the board?
Thank you learned alot. Subscribed
OMG finally a how to with out all the jibber Jabber just the HOW TO A++++++!
Hi Jon, after you took down the form you knocked down the edges with? Was that a piece of lumber or a really big file?
Ed Tillman Hi Ed, no just a stick. you can shape it a bit before it totally sets up.
I came here to learn, stayed for the ASMR.
Can this be done on existing slab
I didn’t see any rebar installed. Why not?
สว่านเสียซ่อมที่ไหนครับ ยี่ห้อนี้ดีเปล่า
Was that a grounding rod ?
what kind of concrete was that??!! Did it have the rocks and stones in the middle? or was it cement?! Mine just came out TERRIBLE.
Whoa
why didnt you put hard core at the base
so was it just one bag of quickcrete
Not very helpful not telling you the ratio of cement
Alright, ya got a block of concrete in the ground ,with rebar sticking out!!
Now that's a mowing the lawn video just dig it up and pour in concrete
sandersbig Ha : ) I think I'm going to have to make a lawn mowing video next.
That grass is healthy
2:40 a chance your hand was in the way or you would've got this in the nuts! haha
Nice video but the chair looks really uncomfortable.
You think you have a spread with your kids, I have them 22, 19, 12, 5!
Too much time on your hands I see
CHRIS MARKERT Ha : ) that'a great Chris, the little one can be a bit of a game changer but also a lot fun.
shouldof spent some time hitting the form with a mallet
Not much good what was the ratio of cement sand and whatever else you put long drawn-out that no ratio to what you should use no good to me
