I can finally die happy knowing that Roger Ebert is a fan of Critters. It's about as satisfying as a warm slice of apple pie with a scoop of homemade ice cream.
theres alot of horror he gave good reviews for: dawn of the dead, re-animator, gremlins, poltergeist, wes craven's new nightmare, serpent and the rainbow, motel hell, final destination, scream, cabin in the woods, evil dead 2, return of the living dead, etc
Oh Police Academy, the franchise I completely understand their hatred for, yet I still will always cherish 1-4 for nostalgic reasons, and can still sit through them, introduce them to my daughter who loves them as well! Something about the majority of that franchise had more fun and goofiness than we expected, at least in my circle of friends.
To Jwbaxter85 Do you have a pre-recorded Siskel & Ebert review on the Charles Bronson film, Murphy's Law, which came out the same year as these movies?
Watching all these episodes (which I watched way back then) I realize how much I prefer Roger to Gene - although every once in a great while I agree with Gene and not Roger but that is incredibly rare. Gene is one of those "needs to be right all the time" types and that is why I find him annoying! (; But I love these shows, particularly for bringing me back to the 1980's and 1990's.

I knew this a long time ago because he had this 3 star print review in his video companion.

Three was not too good.
I completely forgot they liked Critters. That was a nice surprise. Great episode!!
And a slap to people who complain they dismiss horror films
I saw it right after they reviewed..a lot of fun....but crappy sequels
This one is rare. Thanks for sharing. Do you have the original episode with Cobra from 1986?
When you listen Roger saying "They've done it again" about Police Academy 3, with that tired voice, you know is gonna be a funny review
Remember this episode when it was first run. Was so shocked they actually liked "Critters."
Bonnie Bedelia has always been under-rated since They Shoot Horses Don't They?, to Heart Like a Wheel. Also, she is Macaulay Culkin's aunt.
I remember her from Die Hard and Presumed Innocent.

I looked, no luck
@@Jbaxter85 You got these from the website right?

Right
ive never thought of police academy films as spoof films at all, they are just stupid comedies that some of us enjoy
Rodgers explanation of the Stripper narrative sounds like a generic reality show

The police academy movies were so stupid…and I loved them up until #6. Man, they made me laugh

Same year Hannah and Her Sisters, The Great Mouse Detective, Platoon, Top Gun and a bunch of other films.
