    Wow, that was long! I had to watch it in three portions, ha ha!
    Lots of good information in there, like you said, it can be a lengthy project upgrading these buggies.
    Mine, I got two 03's, they are mostly "upgraded" when something breaks, then I buy better parts, otherwise I ran them how they are born from the kit. I'm learning along the way.
    If you want, you can see my Aqroshot, I finally managed to do a video with it, it's still mostly in stock form, I like that one a lot!
    Happy Hobbydays, dude!

      @NordicRC  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ha ha, yeah, way too long this one 😅 I think your approach is wise. Best way to learn which parts needs replacing now or then or which parts might need an upgraded part or reinforcement/mod, is to just go out and have some fun and see what will happen. Cool with the Aqroshot. Will try to remember to watch it when time allows later. Would love that one. Got parts to convert one of my DT-03’s to an Aqroshot (can always change it back later) but as a collector the Aqroshot body is the only one missing in my Vajra and Super Levant body future trio and only one missing in my DT-03 future trio. Happy hobby days, my friend.

    My Neo fighter came with a TBLE-02S and a torque tuned motor. Haven't run brushed for many years but I bought a Sport Tuned motor as an upgrade as i thought it was enough on the gravel track. The difference was minor though. 4 km/h higher top speed with about the same acceleration. So just for the hell of it i tried out an Hobbywing 1060 esc i had lying around and that really made a difference. Much better acceleration and another 4 km/h.
    I thought the old esc was faulty so i got a new one on warranty, but the result was the same.
    In the end i went brushless and li-po as i have done with almost all my cars so now there's no power issue.
    So a cheap brand name esc could also be a nice upgrade for the beginner and for brushless upgrade i strongly recommend the Quicrun 3250 or 4000kv system. It's easy to grow in to when your skills get better with the choice of 17 or 19t pinion and 2 or 3s li-po.
    Merry Christmas!

    • @NordicRC
      @NordicRC  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yeah, the 1060 is a good option for these kits. Better for LiPos too since no external alarm is required. I've heard that others too gains a few extra kph with another ESC. So you might be right. I haven't tried the comparison myself though. But good tip. Thanks!

    The motor winds are for triple phase armatures used in the sport tuned so they are perfectly safe with all the tamiya bundled esc's , the specs for esc motor limits are for rebuildable double phase armature motors.
    I have ran rebuildable 19t triples with tamiya escs from teu101 to tble04 and have had no issues running hard with 2s lipo on hot summer days .
    Just thought it may be worth pointing out.

    I totally don't have a new C-Part tree on the way for my Sand Viper... lol.
    I even repurposed a solid tie rod from a Stadium Blitzer to make a brace, but I still cracked the shock mount between the bulkhead and that bottom screw hole. Thankfully though, that addition kept the front end held together, so I was able to limp it home. I tried finding one of those aluminium bulkhead/carbon tower hop ups, but I was met with a whole lot of "discontinued" paired with "not in stock" in my searches.

    • @NordicRC
      @NordicRC  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Uhh, yeah, I think that C-tree is a bestseller from Tamiya 😂😅 Bought it a couple of times myself. And yeah, I actually think all of the 3Racing DT-02 parts are discontinued. I would love to find one of their battery doors (just for the show) but not found it yet.

      @NordicRC  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thank you, Pete. Ha ha, yeah, sod the warranty is my philosophy too when it comes to Tamiya electronics. But I think it’s important in videos to inform when the warranty is broken or not. And yeah, one of many reasons to stop the waffling here. Never really managed to be able to do the videos I wanted to do here, and to differentiate it from the old waffling-forever-style on the other channel. So might as well just go back to the old system 😊 Cheers for now my friend.

    I have gone trough so many front shock towers with my DT-02, and those 3racing parts are so elusive nowadays as the Loch Ness Monster! Great vid as always, and hopefully will get more ttt’s in the future.

    • @NordicRC
      @NordicRC  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yeah, it definitely seems those are the ones people break the most of. And yeah, 3Racing DT-02 parts are getting rarer and rarer nowadays, even on the second hand market. And I don’t even think the carbon front towers are a good alternative if one wants to drive it hard. Best option I think is go creative oneself with reinforcements. I know Mark Bryan and Pete Wylie have come up with some creative ideas.

    I have some more questions for you. It happened to me lately twice while driving offroad, that screws fall out. It's all the vibrations that occur I guess. Should I use threadlock you think? I just don't want the screws to get stuck either. Secondly, I wonder if you can use the 19 T pinion together with the torque tune motor?

    • @NordicRC
      @NordicRC  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Threadlock is bad for the plastic. Only use threadlock metal to metal. Just check the screws before running. They shouldn’t come loose. If they do you have a bad thread in the plastic. Torque Tuned and 19T pinion is a great combo. Preferably a steel pinion if you can find it.

    • @NordicRC
      @NordicRC  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Doesn’t necessarily have to be a big problem. The good thing about free-moving dig bones is that they don’t bind when then suspension is flexing. But you can take some of it off, by inserting foam or rubber o-rings (same type you use in the shocks) in the drive cups.
