You can do it but you have to be up close when you jump and it needs to be a light kick cross up landed on the way down. It will chip out his lariat and then you can jab,jab, medium tatsu for a knockdown and a bit of corner carry. Try it and let me know how it goes…. I’m a Ryu main as well that’s almost at master

You don’t jump in on Zangief unless he is going for Siberian Express. His AA is easy AF.
