I'd argue the football tackle should be ranked higher, its one of few moves in the game that will guarantee knocking down psychopaths, its great for bullying cliff and preventing him from running away to a hatch (doesn't stagger psychos that are blocking i.e adam and brock tho)
I think the executions stop Special Forces from attacking is because they crap their pants cause “HOLY SHIT THE MANIAC JUST KILLED ONE OF MY ALLIES WITH HIS BEAR FUCKING HANDS”
and it hits more targets than the roundhouse kick, so it's technically better for zombies. I don't remember if it deals less damage than roundhouse, but I want to believe that they have their niches even if it is unlikely.

Off the Record Reuses the DR2 inputs from Chuck's skillset, since most of Chuck and Frank's moves have the same functions. It's really the zombie walk and zombie hop (the reworking of the zombie ride) that are new to off the Record. But yeah, DR2 and OtR were peak Dead Rising as far as I'm concerned.
I feel like Frank was a high school wrestler or a big fan of Mike Haggar. A good chunk of his moves are wrestler moves. Heck you can even get Mike Haggars outfit in 4 and they both have the same pants
2 years on and rewatching this, would be dope if you redid this for DRDR, since skill moves are much easier to perform now, some of them have changes and here are some i've found: - the football tackle doesn't stagger psychos as reliably as it did before, but its still pretty good - the football tackle doesn't send zombies into the stratosphere anymore, and you can turn zombies into a halfway decent projectile using it - the somersault kick and roundhouse kick both have much more generous timings, sometimes it'll do the somersault kick even when i'm trying to do the jump kick, and i'm able to do the roundhouse kick sometimes up to a few seconds after landing and continuing to run, which is neat - the knee drop now has an aoe - the karate chop seems to be buffed even not accounting for the new book that increases barehanded damage if you're at lv50 and stacks with the wrestling book
I wouldn't say "easy". It can deal good damage to them, but the over it a bit unwieldy (it takes a good dela of practice to learn how to control frank since his movement is relative to the camera) and you need to be careful to not hurt survivors (Namely Jo's). Plus, several bosses are in areas were getting them close enough to a wall is completely luck based (every Carlito battle, Isabella, and especially Paul). And Cliff has the unique issue of the place being too cramped. It is still capable of it, but it has some serious limitations. I still think the Somersault Kick is better for beating bosses without weapons.
I think I found the most use for suplex as a tool for moving survivors for the most part. If they're all huddled up at the ledge for the safe room I'll toss or pick up one to make things a bit easier

At first i thought landing the moves and being on the correct side of zombies was kind of weird, but after a while of learning the nuance it feels so much more satisfying to land them consistently than on dr2 and off the record, where they became too easy and standardized. Zombie ride feels so good in this game too, japanese are too good at making satisfying, challenging to land moves
hammer throw is the most overpowered move in the game, im surprised theres no mention of it considering it kills tons of zombies in large numbers and youre invincible while youre doing it
Dead rising 1 was a bit more clunky but I have to say they still have the best skill moves and variety. Off the record is second best but they got rid of some of the little details and even moves altogether. For example the roundhouse kick if you hold this joystick and tilt it down (towards you the player) he will do a leg sweep instead, which has the benefit of taking out all zombies in front of crank and even a bit on the sides as well as giving 30PP instead of 10, the drawback is that he won’t aim the leg sweep and instead only do the strike where you are facing when you land. Fair trade off though. Additionally you can combine that with the wall somersault kick and do the leg sweep/roundhouse kick. In DR 2 OTR they got Rid of those little tricks.
@11:29. While i definitely understand where you're coming from at the same time I'm also a pro wrestling fan & i do love using these moves. I oftentimes like using wrestling moves in non pro wrestling games. One of the best DDT's I've ever seen was in Saints Row 3. The way hoe you do the move plus the way how the victim sells it is just amazing imo. I feel like if Capcom ever remakes/reboots the Dead Rising franchise to keep & hell even add new moves(wrestling moves included) rework the abilities to make pulling off the moves easier maybe?
I plan to someday make tier lists of those moves, but in general: I think the DR2 saga as a better skill set but the zombie horde doesn't demand the moves quite as often.

....Okay, but where is Sweep Kick? You activate it just like Rounhouse Kick, except you have to hold down. It rather reliably kills multiple zombies, can hit enemies on the ground and the damage allows it to be very useful in the final battle (I was around lvl 43 and 4-5 sweeps was enough to finnish off the boss).
I've just started playing on PS4 and I unlocked a new skill thats driving me insane I HATE IT I dont want it! Its the lunge supposedly u double tap LS to do it but my Frank does it all the damn time it's so annoying I wish I could disable the move
The reason that happens is because the old 360 analog stick was far less sensitive, so you had to really push it. But it wasn't adjusted for modern control sticks, so you do it by accident all the time. Legit the worst part of the 2016 ports.

The fact the flying dodge isn't at the bottom of F tier is a crime. Even on the original 360 version I've never used it intentionally. It's always an accidental input that stops you in your tracks and leaves you open to be attacked.

Frank is like a Captain America level superhuman, I mean he can blow up zombie heads by throwing cds or soda cans at lvl 50.

It's both. You have to do the input AND do it fast enough.

I think Chuck's moves in DR2 are overall better than Franks in DR1, but that's mostly down to input commands.
