This was actually the first performance for the China competition's new season of The Singer 2017 [which was why the crowd was excited for it to start at the beginning] -- but what is often overlooked is that he was pretty much a complete unknown to that audience [he's from Kazakhstan and didn't speak any Chinese at that time], and he was the least expected or anticipated to do much since he was pretty much unknown to the audience [which is why he was placed to go first -- the most anticipated singers were set to perform last on that episode].
This was the first time the China audience and other performers in the back room on the show heard him sing. Between his first performance ["S.O.S." in French] and his 2nd performance [Vita's "Opera 2" in Russian], he quickly won their hearts completely.
Reading this is making me feel bad for the person who had to follow after his performance. I mean if he was meant as least likely to win, and he just wrecked the competition.

Great reaction. About range, Dimash has much more large vocal range than Marcelito Pomoy. Dimash range over 6 octave. He can hit D8 note. (C2 between D8). But Marcelito Pomoy has amazing tenor and soprano voice, he incredible.

Dimash turned 23 last May. He is 6'3" tall. Plays drums, dombra, guitars, piano among other instruments. He composes songs too. He sang in no less than 6 languages.

His grandmother recognized his interest in singing and enrolled him in music school at the age of 5. Currently, his measurable vocal range, based on live performances, is 6 octaves. Thank you!

His grandmother (who raised him) first noticed his talent when he was three and took him to music lessons daily. By the age of 6, he won his first piano competition. His mother, a professional soprano, was his first voice teacher.

You’re talking about the camera. I know the cameraman was really good for this video. But Dimash has always played to the the camera. Dimash was on stage at 2 yrs playing piano and singing before audiences at 5 yrs. he was also an actor on television so he knows his best side. I have always felt in sos that he had input with that grip or whatever you call the camera guys. There’s a shillotte of him sideways with his head raised that looked black and white that reminded me of the silver screen actor of the 20’s and 30’s. Also how did he go from a reality tv show right into giving concerts and singing at the European Olympics. He had previous experience in show business education and experience in the performance arts. The music director told dimash on sos that he had to do it his way or the audience would not be behind him. Dimash would not change. It was done Dimash’s way. There was a background video on sos and other songs dimash did for that show. The cameramen were really good but dimash is too.
