Thank you so much! I just picked this same peeler up at a second hand store, no instructions included. I fiddled about as long as I could until I decided to turn to TH-cam and there you were to save the day!
Wayne this was such a helpful video! My great grandpa had one of these that I loved during childhood and I finally got my own today. The corer bit was giving us trouble (still is but we’re getting there). This was a huge help, so thank you!
Thank you for a great video! I've wanted one of these devides for quite a while and I was delighted to find a Pamper Chef one today at a thrift store for $5.. It is complete but there was no box or instructions. I have a home-based cottage food business and was only interested in using the peeler corer slicer for making pies, etc and I've never been interested in dehydrating anything, but I'm going to watch your video on that device and I just may start doing that, too because that would be another item I can sell.
That sounds great. They do work well if the blades are sharp and the apple are firm. Soft apples will be a big problem, even small bruises can be an aggravation. A tip: if dehydrating, take them out and put in sealed bags hot. If they cool off first, they will get soft. Good luck with your project and have a great day.
I just bought the new Johnny Apple Peeler that has a suction cup base. When it works, it's fantastic. However, every so often it gets halfway through the apple and then it twists the core and stops slicing. This leaves me with an apple that is on both sides of the slicer and it has to all be pulled off and finished by hand. Before I start, I try to center the apple core on the device so that it spins evenly, then I push the apple all the way onto the prongs. I can't figure out why it works on some apples and not others. They are all Honeycrisp and I picked them up at the store last night. They are firm without bruises. I have about 20 lbs total and am only half way through. Do you have any idea of what is wrong? Thank you.
This is unusual for a firm apple but the apples were likely picked 6 months ago. This could be the problem. Good luck with your project and have a great day.
@@DIYwithWayne Thank you Wayne. The apple seems to stick between the blade and the peeler when it gets about 3/4 inch from the end. I just did another 5 lbs and only 2 apples went through properly.
@@DIYwithWayne I found out what was causing the problem. The wingnut that holds on the coring/slicing blade was hitting the apple and causing it to stop turning. If I turn the apple around and run it through with the blossom end towards the fork, it almost never happens. Why the directions show to do it the opposite way, I can't figure. My old machine must have had a smaller wingnut. Just thought you might like the update as it might help someone else.
You are very welcome. I have used these for years and know how aggravating they are when not adjusted correctly. Thank you for visiting and have a great day.
Thank you for your video. Do you know if there is a way to keep this from cutting my apple? Or a way to make the slices thicker? I would like to use this for Apple dumplings but keeping my Apple whole. And also sometimes I feel the slices are too thin for my apple crisp
Look back at the video at the 50 second point. You can remove this part and it will not slice or core the apple. There is no way to change how thick the slices are because that is controlled by the threads on lth long shaft. Thank you for visiting and have a great day.
I have not had that problem but the end with the horseshoe shaped end goes to the cutter arm and the other end goes' through a hole on the base. I hope this helps. Good luck with your project and have a great day.
Myy cutting blade needed to be adjusted and I took it off the arm only to realize O cannot get it back on. NOBODY TELLS HOW TO PUT A NEWBBLADE ON THE CUTTER ARM! WHY NOT!!!
Why don't YOU demonstrate how to replace the peeling cutter? You know....that little u-shaped cutter that cuts off the apple skin? It suddenly became too small to be put back on. I just ordered a whole new perling machine that comes with TWO extra peeling blades...WHAT A JOKE! It must take a machine at the factory to form it in place!

Glad I could help. Thank you for the kind comment and for visiting, have a great day.
I watched several videos about adjusting this device and this video is the best!😊

Thank you! This helped fix my problem! It was the fine tuning of moving the blade forward

Thank you so many much
You are very welcome and thank you for visiting, have a great day.
Hey Wayne. Do you have an idea on making the slices thicker?
Not with this peeler. The thickness in controlled by the threads on the lead screw. Thank you for visiting and have a great day.
Great job!
Thanks Dotty. It's always nice to see your comments.
Great video with Wayne

Thank you! I was wasting a lot of apple before watching this.

Wayne, the corer part of mine just flops over. How do I fix that?
If you are talking about the peeler part, there should be a spring that keeps it in the correct place. Thank you for visiting and have a great day.
Could u please help me fix the spring to my blade it's fell out and can't fix it please🙏💕
