I saw some unknown band called Alice in Chains in San Diego opening for Anthrax, Megadeth, and Slayer on the Clash of the Titans tour in Spring 1991...they broke a few months later and went huge with all the grunge stuff. I also was at their last show here in Kansas City in 1996 opening for KISS on their Reunion Tour. Of all Seattle "grunge" bands, Alice in Chains were the most metal and dark. This is great!!!
I honestly don’t even listen to any of the other grunge bands anymore. Thrash, death, Heavy Metal, and metalcore is what I listen to daily. BUT Alice In Chains is an every week play….So you are correct.
I have one standing rule on Denis's videos. When a new video drops, I stop reading the title at "If Alice", smash the like, and then make sure my neighbors call the cops for noise ordinance violations. Can you just release an AIC album already?
It becomes very noticeable during the solo sections that Slash’s guitar work in some ways is more similar to Jerry Cantrell than it is to other late 1980’s hard rock guitarists. The second solo is almost note for note Slash, yet it is seemingly perfect in this context.
Good job. This is Alice circa 1995 when Layne was so strung out that he lost all power in his voice and simply harmonized with Jerry. Would like to see a Facelift era version when Layne could belt it out with a faster backing tempo!
Awesome interpretation, as always. Now I would LOVE to hear "What If Alice in Chains wrote "Mr. Brownstone"! That would be THEE most appropriate G n' R song to get the Alice in Chains treatment!
First time I heard this song, I ran out and purchased the record. When I transitioned to CD, I purchased it in CD format... Not gonna lie; I LOVE this version.
How did I miss this one? Was I extra busy yesterday? No, it just never showed up in my feed. Anyway, this is a great example of the styles of both Jerry Cantrell and Layne Staley. I think it's one of Denis' best. Amazing!
This is a very relaxed version of a GNR pop song, that is interesting. On a side note : I've had this theory that if Jimi Hendrix had lived to compose heavy metal music with this modern gear , he would have sent everyone that followed in his footsteps back to school.

cool, since both bands evolved from the glam metal scene...
GNR version: Your first time in the jungle.
AIC version: You've been in the jungle for a long time, can you even come back to society/become clean?
Totally 😂😂
Impeccable words!
Totally true!!! It's like Welcome to the Jungle mixed with Angry Chair.
It's kind of like Welcome to the Jungle is America F*** Yeah, and then this version is the one where it is dark night of the soul for Team America.
My brain started singing "I have never felt such frustration" before the vocals came in. Nicely done
Huge thanks! Yeah lol, it has some resemblance to Dirt.
Blimey, this actually could be a lost AIC track.

I saw Kiss and AIC in Detroit. I didn’t know who should open for who - Kiss any be older, but AIC was just as awesome.
i wish every cover song was like this, an artists own version of the song, not an exact copy of the original. lovely work \m/
Appreciate it!
i know! if someone wants to hear the original, then listen to the original.
Welcome to the Rooster!
You're gonna die!
Also: you know he ain't gonna die…

That could happen!
@@DenisPauna it totally NEEDS to happen. 🖤💚

@@DenisPaunaplease make it happen!
Or junkhead
Nice "Angry Chair" vibes beneath. With the AiC background, the lyrics get another level. Well done!
This works WAY better than it really should. Nice work.
My thoughts exactly this is freaking me out
Excellent re-writing/blending of the 2 bands and excellent audio engineering/mixing!
Much appreciated!

Huge thanks! I might do that after I record several more AiC styled songs.
Man that would be so epic. I love how well you capture the Layne and Jerry vibes.
I wonder how they'd sound covering early Muse. 🤔
@@DenisPauna I'll be waiting to buy that CD!

A grunge band singing about the corruption and decadence of Hollywood shouldn't work but it does. Sounds great Denis.
Huge thanks! It was unexpected for sure, but yeah, somehow it works.
Interestingly, AiC themselves kinda sorta did that with “Check My Brain”.
A lot of grunge bands si g about that.. the fuck you on about?

The beginning intro Sounds like type o negative too
Check out Seventh Void/Silvertomb and APHND. Lots of similarities to AIC
This guy is BRILLIANT!! Every video is GOLD!!! This totally sounds like Alice in chains!!!!
This is really well done dude!!!I have listened to several songs you have done....This is sick bro..Good job..
You know, I usually don't like covers that don't resemble the original, but this rocked, nice job

Mr Pauna..
You could be excelling at lots of fun things -
Im glad you are sharing these with us❤🎉😊
Love the guitar! R.IP Dimebag GETCHA PULL haha the vocals are spot on! Nice man!
This is bad ass bro! Very nice work Mr.Paula!!
Awesome interpretation, as always. Now I would LOVE to hear "What If Alice in Chains wrote "Mr. Brownstone"! That would be THEE most appropriate G n' R song to get the Alice in Chains treatment!
Dude you’re insanely talented. This was awesome!!!
Great one. AIC and Soundgarden are for sure the two most metal of the grunge bands.
This is truly excellent. I think you did both bands proud here.
I have tears here, you managed to place the entire Alice catalog into a non Alice song. Brilliance!!!
As a lifelong aic fan and GenXer i gotta hand it to you, this is good. Thanks
You nailed the assignment. It’s perfect.
The intro is mesmerizing!!
Very good! This is like one of your best ones. Bravo
I dig it!
You never cease to amaze.
Absolute musical genius!
There is only one thing missing...Lane will use "full" voice somewhere in this song.
stunning work sir, your covers/reworks are brilliant!
I hope the hell your doing studio work for bands your ability to adapt to others playing styles and rework music to a particular song is exceptional
Oh wow...I listened through normal and now I'm replaying it at 1.5X speed....
YEAH! 🎸
That is seriously some Kinney style drumming.
As a fan of both, I give this 5* from the opening Cantrell Licks to the Staley Drone..
Better than GnR by a mile. By 5 miles even. No, actually, ALL the miles. That rocked dude. 🤘🔥
I'm listening to this, and I keep thinking.... oh.... new AIC... very well done.
This is pretty cool bro. Only thing I’ll add is that Layne would hit the high note, they wouldn’t just drone along.
First time I heard this song, I ran out and purchased the record. When I transitioned to CD, I purchased it in CD format...
Not gonna lie; I LOVE this version.
I closed my eyes and enjoyed this immensely....you nailed it.
You get better and better, each time with these AiC covers. Unreal
Im a huge fan of both AIC and GNR. That was awesome!
This is really good. You nailed it! 🤘🏻
Love all your stuff man
Best thing I've seen on TH-cam in years ...... Mind Blown!!!!!!
Well done!! Awesome job
LOL, why is this so good?!? Great job...this needs to be on spotify ASAP!
This track is insane! I am the biggest AIC fan and this is gold. Vocals on point! WOW
How did I miss this one? Was I extra busy yesterday? No, it just never showed up in my feed. Anyway, this is a great example of the styles of both Jerry Cantrell and Layne Staley. I think it's one of Denis' best. Amazing!
I've never felt like ending it all after listening to Welcome to the Jungle before. Thanks.
Haha!
I saw the title and thought "how could you do that?" And you did it perfectly.
Most amazing. Trully nailed it man!
This is like answering every question on a test wrong and still getting a %100
Love it! Freakin' fantastic interpretation! Thanks for sharing.
This is dope dude!
This is a very relaxed version of a GNR pop song, that is interesting. On a side note : I've had this theory that if Jimi Hendrix had lived to compose heavy metal music with this modern gear , he would have sent everyone that followed in his footsteps back to school.
He was likely going to work with Miles and then who knows? Jimi was too cosmic for this reality.
Jesus dude, you have some serious talent. Staley would totally approve. 👍🇺🇸
Very Well done sir! Long time AIC and GnR fan.
As a massive GnR and AiC fan, I absolutely loved this! ♥️🤘🏻
RIP Layne
Amazing job dude, that guitar invokes crazy emotions in me. I’m begging you to put it on Spotify. It’s too great not to be
Great work friend !!😁😁👋
I never thought I would enjoy welcome to the jungle. This blows pistols and petals out of the water
Absolutely nailed it, brother 🤘
To quote Jack Buck, "That's a winner!"
One of the best Yet again Sir!! 🤟🤟
A perfect mix between Dirt and self-titled Album, with some great touch of Died and What the Hell Have I. Nice mixing tho.
Sounds awesome!
If you've ever heard Diamond Lie Layne sounded pretty damned close to Axl before the smack made its' presence known...
That said this is brilliant 🤘
Hombre, esto irá directo a mi playlist jajaja
Grandioso!
Amazing as always.
This worls so well since, Layne Staley is a store brand version if Axel Roads.
Lol it's Axel Rose and he wishes he could sing as well as Layne
Excellent! I feel this all the way down to my toes.
Welcome to the Alice..... we've got fun & chains.....
Melhores versões 🤘
Musically works awesome.
With the vocals, it's better at 1.25 speed.
You need to do more of these

Can you make a whole album of just Alice in Chains?
The adaptation you do is incredible!!!
Just needs more Layne "Yeah's" and it's perfect.
At work jamming to this on repeat, showing the older metal heads. They’re impressed lol 🤘🏼
