When i get foam imma get my dad to do that part beacause i would suck and i only need a small tail I’m not that tall
Using a normal knife is ok as i dont have any scissors that are really sharp or have thick blades though using a knife is hard it does the job its a good cramper and hand work out to i tell you that😭

Oh wow this is amazing! I especially love the little cutaway/gore detail, it turns the tail on the body into a prop that adds to the costume even when taken off, so it’s never just like “I took part of my costume off So I could sit”. That attention to detail is sooo good

Nef! For my hot glue pins, I usually keep an acetone or rubbing alcohol soaked sponge near me that I use as a pin cushion of sorts! It cleans the hot glue off well, and they can be reused good as new afterwards! I’ve found this is my favorite method of keeping pins clean and shiny!
I personally do not use a electric knife, but I do have a foam knife that is sharp enough to crisply cut through foam with a sharp enough blade. It’s great to work with and is much easier than cutting it with scissors.

Does the "super motion" effect work OK on smaller tails, like something 1-3 feet long? I love the effect and how well they wag, but I wouldn't want a tail quite as long as what's shown.
I made a small normal tail about 3 ft and it kinda wags but not the greatest
I'm definitely sure it will if you do the cuts properly. Maybe like 3-4 cuts for a size that small and the first 1-2 would need the excessc it while the others would be quick slits. If that doesn't work, there's always other methods! Especially for smaller tails!

I know I am super late to watching this video, but I was obsessed with sharks when I was like 3-5 years old. Seeing you wear the tail and swish the tail was so cool! Now I MUST make a shark fursona and have that as my first fursuit.

I'm most excited about the gore and want to see the small details and stitches ones as well!!!
Hi.
If you don't have foam here's how I do it:
And sew all the tail pieces, but make a small opening on the beginning of the tail.
Use that opening to turn the tail rightside-out and then fill it with some poly stuffing (use a lot of poly-stuffing so you can give the tail it's stiff, structure without it deforming).
You can either hot glue the opening shut or sew it shut then.
You can hot glue/sew a a belt loop, (which are two looped pieces of elastic) Then you have a tail!
Cons:
It may not have as much movement/bendability as the one in this video. (You can wag it, but it'll be stiff and stay in its exact shape)
If you're making a big tail like the one in this video, you need to have a surplus of stuffing, you have to stuff it ALOT to have it stay in its natural shape, otherwise it may deform after a few years of wearing.

Pro Tip: For making tails use your Leg, Arm, And hand for each species. Canine/Dog=Leg Feline/Cat=Arm and Hand for Rabbit/Deer Tails!

Soak your hot glue pins in boiling water for a couple minutes and they will wipe clean.

I think you should totally consider uploading some of your TikTok’s to TH-cam in compilations! It helps keep your work saved somewhere else and still displayed if Tiktok removes any posts, and allows viewers to have a supply description and pause more frequently!

Yes PLEASE an update on the super motion tail. I love them. I really don’t want my tails to drag on the ground in my fursuits and get stepped on or dirty, and that extra movement brings so much life to the character.
