I may have strained a muscle or tendon in my forearm while doing hammer curls. The pain is along the forearm and near the elbow, and it’s triggered by certain exercises. Should I avoid those exercises completely, or just reduce the weight? How long does the pain usually last? It has been almost four weeks now (didn’t get worse but I can still feel it) and I’ve never experienced this before. Thanks! 🙏

Lets say you hit a plateau on an exercise and youre already gaining weight and in a surplus and you cant change the exercise. Did you find some ways to break through the plateau? maybe an intensifier? a different rep range?

How do you define a plateau?

Cant add reps with same or weight OR more weight with same reps on a certain exercise for a prolonged period of time.. anyhow

@@zwecx7794 If your "prolonged period of time" isn't longer than 3 weeks then don't be so quick to call it a plateau, it's totally normal. If it's well above than that then either try to see if you have any errors in your technique or just review how you do your sets. If you want help then you gotta be really specific about how much time has passed, the amount of warm up sets you do including your working sets to failure and your usual rep range and try to write in order for example (2 warm up sets > 1 normal set > and then 2 sets to failure). I also need to know about the exercise itself and how often you perform it in a week to know about your total volume, your rest time between sets and sessions is also important, the muscle or more specifically the joint you train in this exercise may be overlapping with something else from other days so this might be the cause of your plateau too, just tell me whatever you can think of because there are many factors at play, maybe even going as far as writing your training split.

Really depends on why you Are hitting the plateau and on what rep range/load are you working on

You’re expecting too much, too soon. Just need patience. Plateaus aren’t really a thing. It’s just a marketing term to sell you programs, diet plans, and supplements. The truth is, even with gear, you WILL get to a point where you’re only putting 5 lbs on your bench in a year and 10 lbs on your squat in a year. That’s just the reality of this game. Learn to embrace the suck. Learn to love it.

Weight training is more of an art than it is a science, and in my experience, a decade under the iron isn’t enough experience to be considered expert enough to give advice. Not even close. I’ve been lifting for 20 years now, and it’s my greatest passion in life, and I still feel like I have much to learn

How much experience telling other people they don't have enough experience to say or do something is necessary before you're "allowed" to do that? Do you have enough?

Imagine been lifting for a decade and not be able to bench 315 or dl 405 and open a TH-cam channel to justify your laziness 😂
