I'm doing the exact same thing with my GTV 916 rear suspension, but on a much more amateurish looking level, lol. I removed rust by bathing the parts in citric acid. Then I coated in rust converter, zinc primer, and finally hand-painted in enamel.
You are correct. There are few things as gratifying as turning greasy and rusty old parts into clean and shiny ones!

Hi, no on my daily driver i just used a standard enamel spray paint. For future restorations i would powder coat these parts.
