I think this Ford Kuga PHEV ST-Line X is a successful and beautiful car. After 15 months of driving a VW ID.4 1ST MAX, during which I noticed that this car unfortunately suffers from many software issues and other teething problems, in two weeks I will switch to a Ford Kuga ST-Line X equipped with all factory option packages and equipped in the sporty color Lucid Red. When driving the fully electric VW ID.4, I experienced that the more you drive south in Europe, the more unreliable the charging infrastructure becomes. In the Netherlands this is fine for each other, charging points can be found everywhere. So this plugin hybrid gives us more flexibility and less stress when finding a charging box during holiday trips. Thanks for the video and greetings from the Netherlands.
Hi @@nandoholgado3050, after 18 months and 20,000 km. further I can say I am enthusiastic about the Kuga PHEV. Especially after our last holidays to Norway. A journey of 6300 km. Average consumption after this 20000 km. is 3.1 liter/100 km. During the year I mostly drive electric. Good luck with your choice!
@@johndegier Hi again! I'm very excited because i said yes and today i will order the mine!! but as i'm seeing a lot of vids, it really looks very heavy when it tries to accelerate... I am afraid that I am buying something that will have difficulty entering a roundabout quickly or things like that. It's that slow?
@@nandoholgado3050 Hi again, first of all, congratulations on your order and hope you can drive many safe and enjoyable kilometers in it! In answer to your question: the Kuga is indeed heavy, but I drive it smoothly through traffic. I rarely feel like I'm lacking power. My right foot has certainly become calmer 😉, because I find it a challenge to drive electrically as much as possible. If you use the sport mode, which is sometimes fun to switch on, especially when you are alone🤭, the car certainly drives faster and sportier. But this feels a bit unnatural, because it remains a higher car of course. The VW ID.4 was certainly faster than the Ford Kuga PHEV, but my passengers appreciate the Kuga much more than the VW ID.4. In short, I enjoy driving the Kuga and hope to do so for years to come.
This guy is brilliant! The most entertaining review I’ve seen! The seat adjustment review is the best by far over many others!!! Manu thanks. I have purchased the petrol hybrid ST Line X blind with no test drive and after this review I am not going to be disappointed. Keep up the great work with your reviews! You have the gift of the gab!!!!!! I never subscribe but I have to this guy for my future purchases
Thanks Mark! I've never had this much kindness in one comment before, so I'm not sure how to take it 🤣 Congrats on the purchase. I hope you enjoy it once it arrives Appreciate the sub, nearly at 2,000 so grateful for the support All the best 👍🏼
OK. I get where you're coming from re a heavy car with 225bhp on tap and a cvc auto box. I've owned one for 10 weeks now and if you do less than 35 miles per day then it's a no lose situation (it is a plug in hybrid car). Although the dials indicate the battery is flat the electric side cuts in on initial take off. Over the last 900 miles I've averaged 124mpg.
I agree using the hybrid for short trips does make sense but the argument comes down to the fact you're lugging around loads of weight to attempt to be "eco-friendly/efficient" when in reality it's a different story Personally I think if anyone wants a hybrid practical vehicle, an estate is a far better option for better ride, less weight and a more focused/dynamic car (dependent) to drive At the same time, I did enjoy the Kuga despite it's flaws and strong competition Thanks for watching and sharing John, all the best!
Test drove one of these the other day and loved it. Im coming from an f82 m4 but want something a lot more practical. One thing in your review you say you cant go electric only but you can. You can do a few modes. Normal switches between power units, you’ve got EV now which is electronic only, then you have the option to charge the EV via the petrol engine, there is also EV later which just stores electric for when you want it. Cant remeber the exact names but it defo can be electro only
Without watching back, I can't remember what I said - it would have been a misquote as I did a range test and drove it in Electric mode only 🤣🙈👍🏼 Thanks for watching, remember you can't drive the Kuga like the M4 haha, all the best
Had one for just over a week and am a big fan of what it’s bringing so far. I understand your criticisms of the CVT, it’s ok but not great, my only real disadvantage with the car. I feel cornering at speed is good though, feels good on country roads
Yeah it's a shame, Ford didn't use it's 10 speed Auto instead (its no DCT box but a better solution over a CVT in my opinion) For a 2T SUV, it's not bad round corners all things considered but there are much better alternatives on the market for that sort of job 🙈 Thanks for watching Matt, enjoy the new car!
It's a lovely car! I actually keep toying with the idea of having one for the missus (White ST Line) but unfortunately they don't have great towing capacity so not going to happen Thanks for watching and sharing, congrats on the purchase - keep me posted on how you find it 😀
Got one on order and thanks for demonstrating the best driving seat position lol 😅 - nice review man! Surely on short journeys about Town this is going to save you money compared to forking out on petrol ⛽️?
Haha! Glad you found it amusing, these things need to be tested 🤣👍🏼 In theory you will be, but the price of electric these days especially at public chargers isn't exactly a bargain either 🙈 Thanks for watching Paul!
Don’t choose it we got one payed 3995 advance payment and after 2 months we wish we took more thought into chairing our first car on motability the cvt gearbox doesn’t match well with the engine it’s so loud and people look at you like you can’t change gear
I suggest you give it a test drive William! As my review highlights there is a lot to like about the Kuga but as pointed out there's a few things not to like also, I.e. the CVT gearbox Have a look at the Kia Sportage/Sorento as alternatives too, lots of standard kit, great warranty offering and not bad looking vehicles Thanks for watching and commenting 👍🏼
Automatic transmission overall aren't Ford's strong point more so when you compared to boxes like the ZF8 in new BMWs for example Thanks for watching Dave 👍🏼
No it won't, as you can only get to a certain speed in EV mode, everytime I went into kickdown on the throttle; the engine would kick in Thanks for watching Naoufel!

I just bought 2022 2.5 plug in hybrid st line with sunroof cant wait to arrive im a uber driver is it realible for a taxi i bought it €44.000 from malta🇲🇹
Congrats Zoro! I'm no taxi driver but what I will say is you'll be one of the fancy taxi driver in all of Malta As for reliability, it's a new car so manufacturer warranty will have you covered for up to 3 years but after that it's hard to say as it's still a new car Thanks for watching
I find the drivers seat really uncomfortable its the small door side bolster it digs into my arse cheek. The rest of the car is great, had mine over 2 years now its a 2.0 AWD ecoblue auto ST Line X Edition the auto gearbox is great and i prefer the dial selector to any other type of selector.
I can't recall the seat comfort, it's been a while since I drove it - although I can say I was impressed with the smoothness & ride comfort but with expensive new car prices, there is a lot of competition in it's segment and feel it has fallen behind it's rivals Thanks for watching and sharing some of thoughts about your ownership 👍🏼
