Sometimes I just want to share a build I put together without all the hassle of preparing how I want to present it, shooting fancy b-roll, shooting a-roll, benchmarking, tons of editing, etc. This is one of those times. Simple and to the point.
Currently working on my third PC build using this case. My old Evo had two builds in it before I gave it to a friend, missed it for years, finally bought a new one off Amazon. Now I'm happy again. It really is the best case of all time.
Like you, I have the HAF XB EVO (RC-902XB-KKN2) which has the mesh top panel. I have had it for ~7 years. I have performed many, many builds with a variety of cases. The HAF XB EVO is the best case I've ever had. I have no idea why CoolerMaster ever discontinued it; the case was wildly popular in its day. The only problem -- and it isn't even much of a problem -- is that the top mesh panel won't actually support installation of a 200mm fan as advertised because a) the screw hole mounting configuration doesn't match anything on the market, and b) an internally mounted fan would not permit enough clearance for any standard sized GPU with attached power cables. Notwithstanding, this is the best case I've ever used. CoolerMaster made a bad decision when it took this out of its product line.
I’ve never loved a case more than this one. It’s just so easy to build in and maintain. I’ve built two pc’s using this case now and I don’t see myself switching.
I JUST Picked one of these cases up last month for my upgraded home server and HTPC. Has JUST enough space for some hard drives and a blu-ray player. Currently running a 12400 processor on an H670 board with 32g of 3600 DDR4 and a 500gb nvme drive. What a difference 3 years makes in parts. Whole build cost me $600. Not to bad!
i get that these type of videos not very popular, but i love stuff like this. i enjoy watching people build pcs without the music and the whole shabang. its simple, its fun, me liky
i have finally got to do my build in this Awesome case - I am very happy with it. I am also in Washington state ( Federal Way ) - always nice to see others in the general area you are. My pc as it is now - has the following hardware - R7 2700x , MSI MPG X570 Gaming Plus , 4 x 16 Viper ddr4 at 16gb per ( 64 gb total ) , Samsung 1 tb 970 evo M.2 , Gigabyte RX Vega 64 OC , Seasonic Prime 650w fm 80+ titanium , Cooler Master - MasterLiquid LC240E RGB AIO. I am planning on getting a 3000 or 5000 series Ryzen cpu in the near future. I am also planning to upgrade the ram to 128gb at some point.
I was looking for reviews of this case hoping to find a indepth look of it, instead I found literally the perfect video for installing and now a ASMR video for tonight
Just ordered one of these. Enjoyed the bit of a guide. Was considering almost this exact fan config, just with the radiator fans on the outside where the stock ones are. How are thermals?
I'm using the same exact case. So after more than a year, did you have any issue with the HDD in the hot swap bay? I'm hesitant to use the said bay to expand my storage as there's not enough cooling in that area. Appreciate your response on this.
This is perfect, I am in the need of a new case and have this in my amazon cart...plus I have an Antec Khuler AIO 240mm...so I am definitely interested in how you install yours.
Very nice build as always :) in these days I sell my hadf xb evo (like new condition) for switch to the H500M ( I'm a CM fan) but is still a great and unique case (very good materials), the ONLY problem are the wideness of the base (43 cm) : steal too many space in my desk ,and this isi the main reason for change it.
I'm actually about to head to my brother's house to pick up my xB Evo. didn't have the room for it when i made the initial purchase. But now? Ohhh... Gimme dat box!
Nice video but when you connect the power cables on the motherboard it bends considerably. Also noted that you need to remove it from its fixed position to connect the power cables which means it has not much clearence to do it without unmount the motherboard from its base. But good video for showing us all that.
Rad case, but I was a little disappointed you didnt mount even more fans on the other side of the radiator for a push/pull config. I am not sure it would help, but do you really need why when you have can do?
Thanks for this vid, you're a hero. I just got the last one of these off newegg been wanting a different setup from a tower for a long time. i was worried about GPU clearance but it looks like i'll be good! TY.
I don't mind admitting that "ASMR" didn't mean anything to me until I checked Wikipedia and learned that while I wasn't looking, an unneeded term was invented. Last year we had only "pleasing", "gives me goosebumps", "cool", that sort of thing. CMDUCKS? I have this case and 2 other HAF series ones. I like having external bays for things we used to call "DVDs" and "flash card readers". I don't think they discontinued this, just because CM won't admit to still making it.
Front fans on the outside pushing in. You are gonna have clearance issues with GPUs and will be choking the rad a with then inside pulling. I have the same case running since last xmas. great HTPC. Compliments my sub.
The case is nice. I been looking for something like that I'm really tired of all the cases looking alike, Question. There are two upper panels? Or just one?
The only thing that made me cringe was the fact you could hear the hard drive over every other component at the end. Great build and video. Im planning a build for my brother with this case now and this video was a great help.
I've got this same motherboard in that very same case. And overall, i gotta say its a pretty good case. My only issue is that the evga 1000 G in there is way too long, and the cables push up against the hot-swappable hard drive bays. Edit: Ive also got that same cpu and same ssd, lol.
Really enjoy your videos man, keep up the awesome work. Its cool to see a tech youtuber who actually seems into tech besides the whole "FORTNITE RGB PC!" or whatever.
hey bud. can you explain to me why there isn't a push/push method for a radiator? wouldn't cool air coming from both sides help the radiator cool faster?
Is it possible to use the 3.5 inch hot swap bays for other things? I have an ECR 501 card reader and it has hard drive mounts built in, so I was thinking about using the 3.5 inch bays for a fan controller and USB hub with HDMI passthrough.
Can you do a parts guide for a water cooled pc. For around 2500 including the monitors, btw in the future when I get my pc parts together if you have time I would love for you to build it
i wanna do a amd build in this case i already have an intel rig for my gaming/ content creation purposes would love a gaming pc i can take on the go and this case is perfect for it
Hey, thanks for this video. If you were going to air cool the CPU in this case what fan set up would you go with? Would you bother to stick a 200m fan in the top? Thanks!
I have the HAF XB EVO (RC-902XB-KKN2) which has the mesh top panel. The top mesh panel won't actually support installation of a 200mm fan as advertised because a) the screw hole mounting configuration doesn't match anything on the market, and b) an internally mounted fan would not permit enough clearance for any standard sized GPU with attached power cables. Hey back in Dec. I got finally got my first s.s.d. drive it may be only 120 GIG. but I very good it was on sale $25.00 but couple best buy reward zone couple it went down to $10.00 not bad?
Love the video that is my favorite case I've ever owned suck an easy case to build in also super jealous of the snow I'm in Portland and we got screwed
I think it was $50 or $60 at Costco? Mostly use it in the gym when I lift since it's cold as balls in the winter, but our furnace has been having issues so brought it into my room for the time being
@@nerdonabudget thanks alot I need one since I live in Mexico and since its really cold and how they build buildings here the cold air gets trap in my apartment like a freezer😨😭 and I need a space heater for me and my cats
Lol i was wondering why this guy needs a window guard but then i said " well he did just let everyone know where he lives and has all that sweet pc equiment." Lol...probably would upgrade that little guard aint nothing...or just get a dog!
I'm sorry, but i find that case ugly and awful to work with. I would not use that case even if i someone wanted to give it to me for free. Still nice video :)
Sometimes I just want to share a build I put together without all the hassle of preparing how I want to present it, shooting fancy b-roll, shooting a-roll, benchmarking, tons of editing, etc. This is one of those times. Simple and to the point.
😒 thats fine, i usually fast forward anyways when u guys do a long dragged out shpeel video✌️😏☺️

I never thought I'd enjoy a video with no audio. Yet another myth debunked.
there is audio.
I can agree this is the best PC case of all time.
Glad to hear that as I'm just about to build a rig with one of these. Watching to see best practices!
Nice way to spend my Valentine's day :) lovely vid

Man I'm so glad to have NOAB back. Appreciate your content.
Best case ever made!
It doesn’t matter how much editing you do I still enjoy these vids

I want it because it is more space efficient than conventional towers but I cant get over how its still so big!

Nice build. I am planning to buy at least one of these cases maybe 2 - thanks or the good build video.
Awesome build. Case looks really easy to build in. What games do you play? Do you ever play with subs?
Missed you NOAB. Glad you are back

Whoa, NOAB actually uploaded a video? lol It is a pretty cool build vid! Great job.
Great video. PC build with a twist! Also nice to see little more of your new house!
getting this case next week cant wait heck I have a end table thats the perfect size for it to sit next to my desk. :)
I wish they still made cases like this. All that mesh! How do you manage the dust?
1) keep it off the floor 2) air duster/vacuum

Finally more PC builds, nice. Keep it comin'
We had a solid 9" on the ground down here by Tacoma!
Ah man, I just mowed the lawn in about 30C (mid-80s F?) and am now hiding inside watching TH-cam next to a fan. Please send me some snow!
Great video and build :) this is my favourite case :D always watch and love your vids Danny. Hope manufacturers make more cube cases in the future :)

Couldn't you mount the radiator fans on the same place the stock coolers were on the front to get more video card clearance?
Perfect! You example card s the same length of the car I want with the nearly touching AIO fully decked with fans.
SUBBED
Can you do a parts guide for a water cooled pc. For around 2500 including the monitors, btw in the future when I get my pc parts together if you have time I would love for you to build it
I just bought this case last week. I haven't done the build yet though.
I love this case!! What was your configuration for the fans? I always wondered what the best set up would be. I have only fans no radiator.
Nice system.
Yes! Love these pc builds
i wanna do a amd build in this case i already have an intel rig for my gaming/ content creation purposes would love a gaming pc i can take on the go and this case is perfect for it
beautiful.
great pc build

I have the air 540 and wish to switch to this. Two questions..
Is this thing portable as they say or weighs like the 540.. n
Will it take 980ti 😓?
Hes baaaaaack
LOL! That's not a snow storm. Come to Minnesota.
Maybe I missed it but I don't think he said snow storm, just that it wad the biggest snow hit to Seattle in 50 years.
Couldn't you have left the case' front stock fans in there? why did you have to remove them for the CPU cooler?
I wonder if the wires wouldn't be able to clear the radiator from the outside? Not sure I'm not an expert, but great question
I just want to know buying this case like is it worth the money.. cause im looking to buy one
Love the video that is my favorite case I've ever owned suck an easy case to build in also super jealous of the snow I'm in Portland and we got screwed

Some communication would have been nice, or at least some weird synth music, lol
Nice build but boy that case is uglyyyy.
