Tsukuyomi! Because of the initial impact it had on me as a viewer causing me to make the bold claim Itachi > Orochimaru before the latter even made that statement. 72hrs of torture and mere seconds pass in the real world. Broken asf even by Shippuden standards.
Susano'o, by far. All the seperate abilities are cool but during battle or war, the Sudano'o skeleton or full sized avatar is more than absolute. When Madara taunted the 5 kage by asking them if he should turn a 5v1 into 5v25 with the woodclone susano'o
It's called the Worf effect. Establish something as strong, only for it to "Lose" every single time we see it afterwards. This actually happens to Sasuke a lot, he quite often gets power ups in the Series, just to lose to make someone else look stronger.
They did Sasuke’s MS dirty with the Bee fight. I get Bee is powerful but damn did I feel like they were disrespecting their own main character after they just showed his character’s greatest turning point in terms of development and strength
I think we gotta talk about gentle fist too. In OG Naruto getting poked could make your chakra networks shut down or over load, literally could take anyone who uses chakra down instantly when landing a hit. Then in shippuden it’s basically treated like a regular taijustsu move and has no real impact in a fight
It was too strong for Shippuden. Most of the Akatsuki are ninjutsu specialists and the gentle fist is the counter of ninjutsu specialists. If Neji, just upscaled for Shippuden, fought any of them he would've beaten most of them. What can Deidara do against rotation, air palm, and the 128 trigrams?
@@STStillwell Saitama never one shots major opponents. Amateratsu one shots lesser opponents too. Boros and Garou both took hits from Saitama and tagged him too. Then weren't fair fights, but they weren't OHKOd.

Kirin was easily in the top 5 coolest techniques in all the series and we only see it twice because you know we need to act like Sasuke couldn't take on Killer Bee by himself or how Sasuke couldn't easily blow up the entire kage summit if he wanted too.
🤣 because he couldn’t take on killer bee by himself especially how long it takes to set up that justu you think killer bee is going to let him set that up? And more so killer bee is a lighting master yeah use lighting style against the lighting guy lol 😂 sasuke made that mistake twice
@@t-god2439 It doesn’t take long at all. At the beginning of Shippuden Sasuke was about to use it against Team 7 without any preparation at all. Kirin is not a usual lightning release, Sasuke is using natural lightning directly from thunder clouds. In other words, he’s controlling natural lightning with his own chakra, this is sth that absolutely no character has ever done in the show.
@@ianismark4470 yeah and you think bee is going to let him get that off? Lol Bee is much to fast for that plus the pressure bee was putting on sasuke without trying to kill him imagine if he tried and if sasuke was alone he would have died he damn near died twice with back up idk why you think it would be much better if he was by himself
@@t-god2439 I didn’t say he would have been better by himself. I told you that Kirin doesn’t take that much preparation to be performed, all it takes is 2-3 fireballs hinted to the sky. Once that is done, the natural lightning hits the earth in 1/1000th of a second, I think you can tell how fast this is. And because of its wide range target, it’s impossible to dodge sth like that.
The biggest/first nerf was when Kishimoto changed the Amaterasu from being flames that originated from the target to a makeshift projectile. When Itachi fought wherever his focus was that was where the flames were made meaning it was near impossible to dodge because it was instantly on the target. Sasuke on the other hand shoots it out of his eye, but I think that is the difference between their MS abilities.
at first he knows how to use amaterasu, the ability to project the black flames, then during the bee fight he learns with his other eye, the ability of kagetsuchi or some like that. basically blaze release. so he uses amaterasu on weapons and on blades to enhance damage, now why shoot a slash that takes time to travel instead of an instantaneous attack, idk. maybe he's more proficient with it
@@aceclover758it’s not something he achieved, it is just the ability of his other eye. Those are his two abilities. Itachi’s abilities were Amaterasu and tsukuyomi.
This is definitely an example of an ability that on paper just had to be nerfed since it's technically just a one shot with how it was originally written. Especially when kagutsuchi was introduced since it technically makes an instant win because you almost can't avoid it without being able to absorb or are so fast Sasuke can't react to you. Thought I still wish it did something aside from annoying those that it hits, heck even Sasuke himself ignored it when he was hit by it
I agree it needed a nerf but that’s because they always introduce a jutsu as WAY more powerful than what it actually ends up becoming in the actual story. Simply being a special, forbidden, more powerful fire nature transformation that only the Uchiha clan can access would’ve been cool enough
@@aryh9479 basically if its too overpowered the user has to be an idiot or it has to be nerfed. worst offender is kotoamatsukami. the most broken technique to have ever been written. acomplished nothing. freeing itachi from the edo tensei couldve been done in another way entirely.
He definitely knew as the whole point of that fight was to bring out absorbed Orochimaru. Plus even if he couldn’t substitute he still had his Susano shield which would definitely at least take some time to burn thru and itachi could put out the flames whenever he wants.
@@Noadvantage246 Sasuke didn't have a Susanoo during the fight. He didn't have Mangekyo until after the fight. Also having absorbed Orochimaru does not equate to him being able to use his jutsu. Hence, why Itachi was visibly surprised when Sasuke used it. And don't say it was an act, Sasuke couldn't even see Itachi's reaction, making it pointless.
but itachi can stop the amaterasu before fully burning the opponent just like he stopped it against the mizukage... so he must have thought that he will burn the curse mark wing and before it fully burns sasuke he can stop the flames thats why he could have used it on sausage
@@jayj9278 That's something evil with that type of characters, they just can harm someone while expressing "love" and some people defend their actions. But you have characters like Hiruzen and they will be hated when the do something wrong by their weakness.
Just a small correction: Gaara didn't react to Amaterasu, he reacted to Enton which Sasuke fired from his Susano'o orb. Amaterasu spawns on on the target while Enton is a projectile that can be reacted to even if you don't have Raikage levels of speed.
In the Kage summit, Sasuke wasn’t using Enton yet. Gaara blocked his normal Amaterasu and no matter what, it can’t burn chakra infused substances like the sand
@@aceclover758 Wrong, he used Enton against Raikage to create flame shield around Susano'o and he literally calls the attack which Gaara blocked "Enton"
Tbh Naruto vs Sasuke in the final fight is disappointing, not because it's the worst but because there are a lot of potential scenarios not shown in the battle. Sasuke should've dominate Naruto in terms of battle strategy and countering his jutsus. Naruto should've been able to use all of the tailed beasts' kekkei genkai (boil release to boost his physical abilities like the eight gates, Shukaku's marks to seal Sasuke in place, corral release to make the susanoo brittle, spamming lava release rasenshuriken and many more). Sasuke then should've been able to use ALL of the Rinnegan's abilities including the summons and other stuff. It'll be more symbolic like the Sage of Six Paths fighting all of his nine creation.
That's honestly the most amazing and hype anime fight and extremely most detailed fight I've ever heard of. This is amazing. This needs to be fan animated! 😮
Maybe with his dead body he didn't have chakra to pull that off. Then again Madara could summon a almost complete susanoo while dead which was probably because Kabuto preserved Madaras body so he could be the strongest edo.
Amateratsu used to be a good spell at launch. It dealt good DoT with endless duration. A cheap "strategy" came out: you throw the spell, then stall until Amateratsu bring the enemy's HP to 0. It even worked on bigger bosses, so yeah it was quite overpowered. Sadly, they made almost all bosses immune to it at the 2.0 update, and added a lot of counterplay like the Agility allows to dodge, spell absorption, and so on. Many Amateratsu enjoyers asked the dev to reconsider the change, like adding a longer cast-time or reducing the DoT overtime (whatever it means...) in order to keep the spell being a threat, but they did nothing. One time in competition, the spell was used not on enemies but on the terrain itself as a form of crowd-control. That was very hype, as it was never seen. But since easy counterplays are known to the point that even casuals know how to deal with it. Nowadays, Amateratsu is mostly used by low-level player as mob clearer, which is still useful on high-XP non-boss enemies. Yeah... the spell has lost a lot of its superbe. They really messed up by making the DoT endless. If they just put a certain duration, they could have balanced it quite easily. But since being "endless" is its identity, we end up with that weird spell we have now, used effectively on non-important battle.
Coming from an amateur writer, when you make a one shot technique like Amaterasu, it either needs have specific counters when it’s used or high conditions to use it. It was fine when Itachi had it. With the MS, it invalidates and cheapens it Which is why other things in other media like the killing curse were mistake. The conditions to use it are easy to full full if you are a semi strong wizard or into the dark arts So it cheapens it and the story since it’s a wonder why the death eaters don’t always use this one shot curse that is stated to be unblockable. You can only dodge it
I'm not huge into harry Potter but Avada Kadavra always annoyed me cuz there was no downsides to using it and it didn't seem that difficult to do. So why doesn't every decent wizard spam it lol VM

In the poll you posted I voted gentle fist because of how silly it is to have a clan who’s signature ability is seeing through solid objects and very far away while only having short range melee offensive abilities
The Hyuga clan in war should operate as an artillery unit. They can be safe from the battlefield but still know where the enemy is and launch long range attacks that would be impractical for anyone else.
@@pikebasss true, they can do that, but they don't want be like that. Remember Hyuga clan is very conservative to the point that they put curse marks on brank families.
This got me thinking what a protagonist/main character/hero and villain's abilities in a story mean to a narrative and why each get what they usually get. Look at it from the view that protagonists in any story with heroic themes are those that bring solutions and villains are those that create problems. In the case of Naruto, the manga, Naruto, the character, 's powers are all things that can solve problems but aren't meant to be looked at inherently like an obstacle or a puzzle to be solved; meanwhile, most villains have powers that have to be solved and countered, i.e., problems. Amaterasu started as a villain's power and this made it something that wasn't meant to solve problems but to be solved; an attack that hits instantly, bypasses durability, and persists until the target is destroyed is not a good solution, it's just too braindead to be satisfying, so the path that's the most interesting for it is to have another character find a way around it. So when Kishimoto gave Sasuke, a main character, the most destructive power of one of his strongest villains, he was forced to change its effectiveness or have everything involving Sasuke become incomprehensible; imagine having a hero putting a villain in trouble and then have the villain look for a way forward only to be ultimately thwarted by the hero, it's nonsense; it's the arc of a hero forced onto a villain with the framing that the one who puts the effort to win is also the one at fault for resisting a disproportionate response to a now comparatively mild provocation. I can see why Kishimoto wanted Sasuke to inherit Amaterasu, I hadn't even seen it that way before the video, and I agree with him in it being worth it for the sake of telling what he needed to tell with Sasuke but he also created a persisting issue for himself with it.
This totally broke the fantasy of how powerful Amaterasu was in my memory. I guess I remember it’s awesome moments the most and totally forgot the nerfed parts. What a shame for a cool jutsu
Bro amatersu was too broken, they should have given it more limits so that it would not become as useless as it is. Bro naruto literally had to put kurama chakra on his hand so it won't touch his skin...
They have this annoying thing where they introduce a new jutsu as extremely overpowered, with one-shot potential, and then later on those same Justus end up just becoming utilities/tools like any other regular jutsu
@@aryh9479 true is it just be or we barelly saw the substitution jutsu later in shippuden? The clear I remember was sasuke using it vs deidara... But then it was mostly clones. Lets be honest substituion was kinda ridiculous and kinda annoying... Sometimes random clones too...
Amaterasu shouldn't be a thing in the first place. Unless it was severely nerfed. Having an Instakill skill that spawns on the target is a really boring habillity.
@@NeonForceGetsuga That is too op as well, U know what Kishimoto should have done, he should have made it so that amaterasu doesn't actually physically damage you body but still feels like an extremly hot flame on your body, that way it doesnt kill you but puts you in constant pain, also makes sense since the flames are supposed to like "Ghost Flames " or something. I agree that shinra tensei shouldnt work against Amateratsu when you already got hit. However, that is an edo tensei Nagato, so he might blow off some of its skins too and then regenerate from edo tensei.
It WAS iconic. How they introduced it was amazing. How they use it now reminds me exactly of how they played out shadow clone jutsu and rasengan/rasenshuriken
The amaterasu doesn't spawn on the target. It just appears that way to the viewer to show how fast it is otherwise the raikage wouldn't have been able to dodge it no matter how fast he was.
It just depends on line of sight. But it takes a little time to charge. It does not activate instantly on sight. It charges up then activates by spawning on the target. So. You just have to get out of line of sight or interrupt it.
Raikage would still dodge it if it spawned on the target. As long as he moves fast enough for Sasuke to not be able to process the start of his motion so amaterasu spawns on empty space raikage has been 0.001s ago.
@Nameless cozmo um, it spawns on line of sight so he stared at the wall of the frog stomach and then lit it on fire with amaterasu. The wall was in line of sight.
I think initially the idea was Sasuke being able to use Enton without using Amaterasu specifically. Using Amaterasu is basically chakra suicide, much like when Kakashi is using Kamui. Sasuke's more controlled use of the black flames would be weaker but ... eh ... controlled. Him not being a rock brain like Naruto SHOULD HAVE meant awesome jutsus. Well instead they made him derpy and use it less creatively than even talk no jutsu. So then he finally gets Itachi's eyes and ... oh, shiet, plot is breaking apart: Having the eternal mangekyou would mean most if not all negative side effects of using Amaterasu are gone. And hot DAMN! When he first went berserk on those white Zetsus it sure looked like it ... But nah. Printing pages in mostly black was probably expensive aswell. So thy just kinda pushed the ability in the background and hoped no one noticed.
This is a big issue with a LOT of Kishimoto's ideas IMO. He creates an OP move or technique that has some kind of arbitrary ability attached, then it gets nerfed so bad that it becomes another run of the mill techniques that's about as useful as a basic fireball. It happened with the base Sharingan being able to hypnotize and copy people, the Byakugan having 360 degree vision, the Gentle Fist's ability to completely stop chakra flow, Gaara's sand acting without needing his input, the Mangyeko Sharingan's ability to f*ck with your perception of time so you can be tortured for hours in a literal instant, the Amaterasu being inextinguishable until the target is consumed, and the list just goes on. Seriously, the number of OP moves that SHOULD be able to instantly end almost every fight in Naruto that never get used to do so make it harder and harder to stay invested in it as the series went on.
Reminds me of how none of the villains utilize the Six Paths of the Rinnegan in fights after Pain cause Kishimoto would have to account for all those abilities in a fight.
True, one Shinra Tensei would've one shot Gai during the whole 8 gates thing, but Madara just forgot about the Rinnegan abilities after absorbing the Ten Tails.
They already talk about this, Obito can't use the abilities because it's too much for him to handle and they already know how to counter those abilities. Madara actually used them quite a lot.
@@AK-MS27I mean not spamming them makes sense, but using them every once in a while, especially chakra absorbtion which would solve the Rinnegan being too much for Obito, would be fine. Knowing how to counter an ability doesn't make it useless. You can't counter a point blank Shinra Tensei.
I thought you'd be talking about how there became no risk to using mangekyo techniques. The risk of going blind and becoming useless was kind of a good thing to make amaterasu a super special awesome tech reserved only for the most dire scenarios.
That got debunked ages ago. Sasuke's Amaterasu disintegrated steel in a second in Gaiden. So it seems like the only reason it doesn't work on living targets is because the target he fights & because it's a Shōnen & not a Seinen. Then there's when Itachi's Amaterasu killed Orochimaru's snake & destroyed Edo Nagato's body. But since Nagato was Edo Tensei he felt no pain & got it off.
@@kijanajenkins2546 so basically the plot made the flames actually burn fast for that one moment, and you’re telling me it’s supposed to take forever for it to burn living things, just because. Also come on the snake itachi burned was the size of a garden snake, in a forest that was taking forever to burn the green plants, and grass, with the snake instantly dying from the pain of the fire, we didn’t even see it burn.
@Mitistouchyamama good point, I just wish the series would have just use Chakra to help people counter it like Naruto did, that way it's useful, but easy to survive, but still a serious threat.
Out of all of these, I can buy that the chakra cloak can block the Amaterasu because it's kind of tangible but also it's just chakra that keeps getting replaced as soon as it's burnt away
Basically it became a "main character" Jutsu. If something becomes a "Main character" Jutsu it needs to get nerfed as the "main characters" need to struggle to make the show interesting.
Thanks again for this video. It's quite interesting to see how the colored manga shows the development of the series, really enjoy that part of your videos. I am currently purchasing the volumes of the manga myself (colorless). Best regards!!
Kamui Shuriken does make sense though considering that it makes Kamui instant, with providing higher coverage. Kamui can only be used in one spot, while Kamui shurikens travel through a distance and transport anything that gets in the way.
Filler for once making sense instead of cannon with amaterasu when Itachi totally obliterated the Fourth Mizukage to get the Three Tails in V2 cloak. Miss the good old days.
Ya know, until the Kage Summit I never really understood how Amaterasu worked, in how the flames were manifested. Until then I thought it blasted out of the user's eye. It wasn't until I saw how Raikage A dodged it that I understood it just manifests on whatever the user targets via their eyesight. Which then brings a LOT of questions on why it wasn't used more...!
If anyone read the wheel of time, there is a powerful weave called bale fire, that completely burns and erases anything out of time itself, if your hit by it, it’s not like your forgotten but the things you did the world are erased with you, tho people will still remember it. Tho this spell was soo powerful, the story never nerfed it, in fact, it became far more destructive I wish Amaterasu could’ve gotten the same treatment
Itachi used amaterasu as well tsukoyomi or mangekyo sharingan to escape from toad. He said that himself to kisame that it was so powerful that i had to ise them both (amatersu and something i forgot).
You explained it very well. when it works its just too much like litteraly anyone if they get hit by an un-nerfed amaterasu flame the size of a candle will just fucking die. like even the hokages. it was fine when itachi had it and it reinforced the fact that danzo was so fucking scared of him due to how powerfull he was and it was the kind of bs skill an enemy could have like you said. the price for it was great to the eye bleeds and its heavily strained on top of costing a lot of chakra and its not 100% unavoidable if you have a good skillset. but when sasuke became able to spam it and control it perfectly it had to become glorified firestyle or he would just be oneshoting people. like at that last clash on the valley of the end. even if they both clashed and ended in a draw amaterasu would just spread on both of them while they were unconcious and they would just die. like there is no specific rule amaterasu cant hurt its own user.
I feel like with the amaterasu, how power it hits is equivalent to the amount of chakra used to activate it meaning in the cases of those samurai attacks sasuke might have been utilizing a way lesser amount of chakra to activate the amaterasu and after seeing how it impacted him in the fight against bee you can also say that he just holds back as it's sort of a double edged sword. But then again doesn't still explaining it tanking against tougher opponents
Idk if the Bee examples that great because while I agree amsterasu probably surprised him Bee absolutely still could have killed them... Sasuke also utilizes Amatetasu exactly like his chidori in later Naruto and basically gets alternatives to every chidori technique with it
Bee also took that opportunity to do a fake out and go on a vacation so it wasn’t like it was a true defeat since he let them win and used a double. That’s one of the reasons I don’t like the 8 tails example.
16:40 I think the best way to go about that would have been to give Sasuke the Amaterasu, but not Kagutsuchi, so at the very least you can make the excuse that people can block or dodge the Amaterasu and not that Sasuke can just make shields and swords out of it. As for Sasuke's other ability, while it would be cool to see him have Tsukuyomi, that move would have made him way too overpowered. The other power would likely have to be original to Sasuke.
Why didn’t the raikage just focus all his lighting shield into his arm? He probably would have went right through the shield or sweep sasuke also when the consider the raikage’s lineage it makes sense from a story stand point
you know if sasuke was more intelligent he could have used flame control on the amaterasu that was in the raikage's arm making it shoot up into the raikage's face and eyes to both kill him quickly and if not kill at least blind him
Because otherwise it would be so broken, to set on hotter than the sun flames whatever you set your sight on (considering that sharingan users can predict movements is barely unavoidable) and can't be extinguished… well, that's OP as fuck
Not everyone. Just people like Boruto and Kawaki and the Otsutsuki who aren't on earth at the moment. Outside of that, there actually hasn't been a lot of absorbing in Boruto. Absorption was created to stop the higher-tier fights like the end of Shippuden, that's all.
The thing you’re forgetting about sasuke and his ameterasu - kage summit was right before sasuke was unlocked as a playable character with the war. Of course he got nerfed hard.
A counter argument might be that Sasuke scales down the Jutsu out of his own to be able to fight prolonged as opposed to going all out on a single Amaterasu, that casts Chakra and might hurt his Vision. And I don't remember how explicitly / if it has been stated, but even with the EMS the Jutsu still seems to strain him
That doesn't make sense. Why cast a weaker version of a Jutsu several times to fight for longer when you can cast the stronger version for an easy win? Granted, it will probably affect yourself more but you don't risk losing the fight lol. I'd take losing some sight instead of potentially losing my life
@@mat_s245dlc it still is just a shonen story, so I don’t wanna go thaaaaat deep into coming up with an explanation. But missing and shooting a big attack into the air randomly would not be smart I guess.
That reminds me of Yu Yu Hakusho. Where Hiei's dragon of the darkness flame was soooo OP in the dark tournament, but after that it was trash. Mad me so mad.
I agree overall but one thing i think youre confused on is the pressure of Amaterasu. The reason why chars like gaara can block it is cuz when it hits something it burns and stops on what its burning. I assume sasuke made Amaterasu arrows to make up for it
I feel like when the MS was first revealed the intention was for there to be only two jutsu Amaterasu and tsukuyomi two super powerful jutsu that used a ton of chakra which makes it more balanced that it can’t be over used but then in shippuden they went off the rails deciding everyone got different powers plus other re write fate powers and….ya I don’t think it was super thought out originally
How did amataratsu get nerfed? Well it all started when a man named kishimoto thought it would be fun to add "eternal" to a jutsu that was already balanced perfectly...
I also think because it's too powerful.... if they kept it as powerful, he will defeat all enemies in the first second... that's the problem with the too powerful moves, it backs the writer into a corner.
Amaterasu was supposed to be hot as the surface of sun. That should mean instant vaporization. Yet the samurai dude was on fire for like 10 seconds and didn't hve burn marks after the armour was taken off 😂
I mean isn't this more of the characters got stronger rather than the move got weaker? I don't watch naruto much or read the manga, but but usually there is a reason related to power scaling. Like isn't the amaterasu arrows a more condensed version of amaterasu used when normal amaterasu is to weak?
You should make a video on the sexy jutsu and how it just kept getting stronger to the point it’s now a forbidden jutsu as it’s a 1HKO move that is unblockable. Especially when paired with Multi Shadow Clone Jutsu. It did worked on a God so you know 🤷🏼♂️ and it would fold Hagoromo No Diff.
And the other versions of sand like gold and iron, and this might seem weird imagine if magnet release is applied them I wonder if that would increase it’s toughness. I’m sure Amaterasu wouldn’t go through the iron variety.
I mean only 4 people could do something against Amaterasu and that's Gaara because of his sand, Naruto blocked it with Kurama's chakra and Raikage was fast enough to dodge it plus Nagato with Shinra Tensei, although he was an edo tensei
sasuke using amaterasu is the definition of unlocking the boss move for playable character and using it against killer bee was the scripted introduction for the move so it worked better
If I'm to give my own personal opinion I liked the concept of the Mongekyo Sharingan but the eternal version kinda made me dislike it because there was no longer any drawbacks to using it. Especially when they got rid of the side effect of using Susano. I mean if they kept the drawback for susano I would have been okay, I mean it's practically creating the ultimate offense and defense but with no drawbacks to it like there should be a limit to how long you can keep it up and It shouldn't be able to go full body whenever the wielder wants it to. Sorry to those that think it's cool the way it is but I feel they should have put Limitations on it.
@@quentinjones6877 I kind of wish that was the drawback. Using the eye abilities should causes extreme Chakra depletion, and Susano's drawback should have been prolonged use could cause extreme body pain, losing metabolism, That could cause 1 of 2 things Blindness as a possible side effect or leading to death if the user isn't careful.
Maybe a quick explanation from itachi during the fight with kabuto about not over using the Amaterasu despite having new eyes, still heavily taxed in someway.
And this is exactly why HxH nen power system is considered one of the best power systems in shonen. It isn't perfect, but the strenght of an ability being tied to it's restrictions is enough to balance itself most of the time. Naruto and Bleach had a lot of powers that were inserted in the story just to be cool, then the authors had to put some bullshit powers to counter the previous one and even more bullshit powers to counter the new ones.
Counter points. 1- amaterasu didn't burn all the water up when Bee fell in and it burns everything so it would burn and burn and burn until the world was nothing 2- even if you say it deleted the hotel and frog wall we don't know if this was the fireball with amaterasu variant or just a flame breath., also there is black flames all around the hole, why are they not sparking up despite being on wood and other natrual material normal fire ignited for??? 4:55- uhhh so if it didn't burn the hotel with residual flames which all are just as hot then why would it melt a metal bracer immediately, all other examples before this are 1- unarmored or 2- inanimate (in which the flames still did not reduce the whole hotel or target to ash) So why wouldn't he have enough time, perhaps he is so fast (since he's only 2nd to Minato until KCM) that the flame WAS instantly melting his arm but his rikiri is so fast he chopped it at the elbow. It could of been up to the shoulder but you're just nit picking AGAIN 5:03- the armor is 1.5mm thick? Oh so the guy spitting flames hotter than neutron stars less than a single meter away from blobs of civilians who's brains would melt if they got within a mile radius of these jutsus are all still alive and so is sasuke and itachi at almost every instance they use it. How are they surviving super heated oxygen in a 10 mile radius? Let alone the flames even being there just the radiation alone is a instant kill for the user and all enemies, it REALISTICALLY, would be more like Shinra tensei. And the armor would liquify ONTO the samurai as soon as the jutsu was launched let alone if it *Fuckin touched him?* 5:33- yea it also doesn't turn the cloud village into molten glass and magma with a single use. The epicenter of this jutsu would actually be akin to an atomic bomb, which.. is still not as hot as amaterasu so how real do you wanna make it. You're apply physics from our world to a shonen where people run on walls and water, manipulate space time, and can heal people from all their blood being burnt and coagulated through their skin. 5:51 it's never stated how fast gara can move his sand but it was fast enough to BARELY keep up with 4th gate lee, Are you trying to fuckin say this fire ball speed is faster than normal fire speeds? Like 10 fodder ninja had time to counter MADARA and his fire jutsu I don't understand the logic. Even if speed was a factor it ISNT faster than the 4th gate you're fucking tripping, and why didn't you ask why the sand didn't become molten glass??? 6:10 it went through a 10mm thick frog stomach lining and a basic building wall which is like 7 inches thick??? Lmfao. The sand sheild would melt to the ground and just not be there exactly how the hotel wall was why would it melt and keep going? It hasn't done that in any examples you've given so far. 6:33 nooo! It was shown to always be easily blocked, sasuke escapes with his stupid" *1.5mm thick* " orochimaru skin but he's so close to... SOMETHING HOTTER THAN THE SUN, That the liquid on him not only wouldn't matter but his own sweat and blood would boil and hardens out every pore of his body. Good job conflating tons of points to jerk off sasuke againnnn 6:57- it's not a instant apparition the jutsu leaves the chakra from the mongekyo it doesn't just appear it has to manifest first or why isn't sasuke just using amaterasu *INSIDE* of their brains since he can inject his chakra into their minds why not inject that chakra then change its nature to amaterasu 7:13 you can blow fire off you and it doesn't destroy everything it touches again examples (hotel floor and remaining walls, the water bee falls into) And you can see pains arms are fucked 9:09 why wouldn't it burn the Shinra tensei and go through just like your argument at 6 minutes for garas sand wall? The air wave? It would only make it bigger as *AIR IS FUEL TO FIREEEE HELLLLOOO!?!?!?* So If you're gonna argue it should go through the sand wall despite it meaning it would turn the sand into a glass wall and shatter the goop of molten glass and still hit gara than smashing it with OXYGEN, would just fuck your whole life up you'd make the jutsu 3x bigger and now you are on recharge to use it again. The right counter is all mighty pull. And You pull the *CASTER* into the amaterasu, they surely can dispell it or before it hits both of you they use it again so it cancels itself or they both die. This jutsu is more stupid than the totsuka blade. 10:16 so the same way itachi could have when his fire was on nagato, Or the same way a jutsu which would pull the caster into the fire would force the user to dispell the fire. So literally any wind or earth moves which alter enemy position is a hard hard counter to amaterasu with very little chakra compared to what was spent. 11:01 his arrow is like his fastest jutsu, indaras arrow IS the fastest and strongest jutsu he has so it's perfectly logical he would just use the best and most effective combo with amaterasu again outside igniting it inside your brain there wouldn't be many ways outside the ribcage sheild, and even then you can have your feet manipulated and sand pulled into the ribcage which would burn you even if you commanded it to stop it would of done damage by then. 11:15 Fuck kaguya 11:41 bro he has a rinnegan and kami there was actually nothing sasuke could do, it was fucked I do not know why he chose chakra rods though unless they count as manifestations of the TSO with the SoSP chakra? Which negate all jutsu. 12:05 why doesn't he give his snake susano armor like madara did to kurama and then use amaterasu to coat the armor, what would be better than that, an amaterasu which is both max defense and offense and has an area of affect the size of mountains and leaves a trail of melted smoldering black flame anywhere he goes. That was a huge miss by ksihimoto and you for not even considering it. 12:46 again it can be blocked, the buildings and trees outside the hotel didn't have any other impact, and the arrow is a good idea, it penetrates and burns, the base ball does not have penetration damage in any example you show, (itachi hotel, sasuke snake sub, samurai armor, gara sand wall) 13:46- KCM or kurama would just negate it with pure nature beast chakra 16:05 the target would be the rasengan so no, it would burn it, then the smaller rasengan would cancel out the chidori, I think that happened anyways, it brought the rasengan down from blowing sasukes whole fucking upper left half off and just took his lower left arm and narutos lower right. That seems logical?? See how inconsistent your arguments are you nit pick for your bias but ignore other inconsistencies to further your point. I'll add more edits as I go on this is initially made at minute 3.5
@DygoKnight Doesn't the kyuubi cloak perform like an attack, as explained by Jiraiya during the Tenchi bridge arc? Also would be easy to eject, due to it's bubbly properties?
People don't really understand how Shinra Tensei works, it pushes away all ninjutsu and taijutsu, it is compromised of all nature transformations so no ninjutsu will affect the user.
If it “spawns” where he’s looking how does it miss? If he’s looking at the target how can they move away from the instantaneous spawning Amaterasu. Cuz it doesn’t it, shoots at them from his eyes that’s why he used the Enton arrows they are faster than the base Amaterasu speed. It’s pretty clear you even said it doesn’t make sense if it spawns in the target why he would use the arrows, because it doesn’t spawn on the target. I agree it was nerfed but the raikage and Naruto have easily understandable means of removing it get rid of the part that is being consumed. They are fast enough to react to it so they are fast enough to dispose of the effected area. Sorry for the long winded comment just thought I’d voice my thoughts on the topic.
@@christianbaker581 Yeah that's what I was thinking. It doesn't "spawn" at the target it just gets shot incredibly fast that it appears like it does. I'm 100% sure Gaara's sand is stronger than a hotel wall IMO.
6:10 To be fair frog stomachs and tailed beasts are kinda combustible. Sand is not. The main component of sand is silicon dioxide, which is, as its name says, already oxidized. So it doesn't burn. or at least even for Amaterasu it should take longer to burn than something that can burn normally.

Technically once, Sasuke didn't use Kirin in the manga against Naruto
The biggest/first nerf was when Kishimoto changed the Amaterasu from being flames that originated from the target to a makeshift projectile. When Itachi fought wherever his focus was that was where the flames were made meaning it was near impossible to dodge because it was instantly on the target. Sasuke on the other hand shoots it out of his eye, but I think that is the difference between their MS abilities.
I think it’s more of a difference
Sasuke was the only one to achieve blaze release and not even Itachi could manipulate the black flames themselves
But he started out doing it like itachi so it was really just bad choices on his part.. trying to show off no doubt😒
at first he knows how to use amaterasu, the ability to project the black flames, then during the bee fight he learns with his other eye, the ability of kagetsuchi or some like that. basically blaze release. so he uses amaterasu on weapons and on blades to enhance damage, now why shoot a slash that takes time to travel instead of an instantaneous attack, idk. maybe he's more proficient with it
@@aceclover758it’s not something he achieved, it is just the ability of his other eye.

Also having absorbed Orochimaru does not equate to him being able to use his jutsu. but itachi can stop the amaterasu before fully burning the opponent just like he stopped it against the mizukage... so he must have thought that he will burn the curse mark wing and before it fully burns sasuke he can stop the flames thats why he could have used it on sausage

With the MS, it invalidates and cheapens it
Which is why other things in other media like the killing curse were mistake. The conditions to use it are easy to full full if you are a semi strong wizard or into the dark arts
So it cheapens it and the story since it’s a wonder why the death eaters don’t always use this one shot curse that is stated to be unblockable. You can only dodge it
None of this is true at all. These things were never invalidated

I feel bad for the toad who got it's insides burnt up by the amaterasu
The way you worded it makes me laugh a lot
Amaterasu then -- I am hotter than sun, can burn anything instantaneously, everyone fears me

The same way Sasuke didn't copy jutsu. Hax ability are difficult to write. Series like bleach do it all the time.

I thought you'd be talking about how there became no risk to using mangekyo techniques. The risk of going blind and becoming useless was kind of a good thing to make amaterasu a super special awesome tech reserved only for the most dire scenarios.
Honestly the Amaterasu flames always seemed like they burn very slow, compared to some fire attacks.
That got debunked ages ago. Sasuke's Amaterasu disintegrated steel in a second in Gaiden. So it seems like the only reason it doesn't work on living targets is because the target he fights & because it's a Shōnen & not a Seinen.

This video actually makes sense, I mean i also think amaterasu got nerfed but I didn't think so deeply like this guy is good content brother.
Bro wtf i never realized that lmao there really is no point in using arrows when normal amaterasu literally spawns it in
Amaterasu Arrow 🤝Kamui Shuriken
Using a projectile instead of just spawning the thing in the place you want
Modern problem required modern solution
1:50 that font in red does NOT look like its saying flicker and it got me confused for a second
Amaterasu is a perfect example of poorly planned writing + OP abilities + power creep.
Thanks!
If anyone read the wheel of time, there is a powerful weave called bale fire, that completely burns and erases anything out of time itself, if your hit by it, it’s not like your forgotten but the things you did the world are erased with you, tho people will still remember it.
Tho this spell was soo powerful, the story never nerfed it, in fact, it became far more destructive
I wish Amaterasu could’ve gotten the same treatment
Does it have any connection with the tv series form 2021

Itachi used amaterasu as well tsukoyomi or mangekyo sharingan to escape from toad. He said that himself to kisame that it was so powerful that i had to ise them both (amatersu and something i forgot).
You explained it very well. when it works its just too much
like litteraly anyone if they get hit by an un-nerfed amaterasu flame the size of a candle will just fucking die. like even the hokages.
it was fine when itachi had it and it reinforced the fact that danzo was so fucking scared of him due to how powerfull he was and it was the kind of bs skill an enemy could have like you said.
the price for it was great to the eye bleeds and its heavily strained on top of costing a lot of chakra and its not 100% unavoidable if you have a good skillset.
but when sasuke became able to spam it and control it perfectly it had to become glorified firestyle or he would just be oneshoting people.
like at that last clash on the valley of the end. even if they both clashed and ended in a draw amaterasu would just spread on both of them while they were unconcious and they would just die. like there is no specific rule amaterasu cant hurt its own user.
Amaterasu is like that one "boss when you fight him / boss when you unlock him as a playable character" meme
"burn harder than the sun " meanwhile any ninja take the amaterasu just feel Bain and somehow survive. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Tbf most ninjutsu lost their effects in Boruto but it did work surprisingly well on Shin’s metal weapons. Literally disintegrated them in seconds

Why didn’t the raikage just focus all his lighting shield into his arm? He probably would have went right through the shield or sweep sasuke also when the consider the raikage’s lineage it makes sense from a story stand point
8:50 A way that could work is if he not only pushed the flames away but tore off the parts of skin and flesh on fire with it.
you know if sasuke was more intelligent he could have used flame control on the amaterasu that was in the raikage's arm making it shoot up into the raikage's face and eyes to both kill him quickly and if not kill at least blind him
Exactly😭
Amaterasu doesnt work well on chakra cloaks sense karuma can just push the chakra off
Because otherwise it would be so broken, to set on hotter than the sun flames whatever you set your sight on (considering that sharingan users can predict movements is barely unavoidable) and can't be extinguished… well, that's OP as fuck
Great video 🔝👍🏻
Not rlly. He had some decent points but most of them were kinda stupid icl
In Boruto all ninjitsu got nerfed because everyone can just absorb it....everyone. If you cannot absorb you in the way.
That's literally not true🤣 only Otsutsuki and their vessels can absorb it(with Delta being an exception)
@@PrimalIncentive Its true doofus scientific ninja tools etc
@@joybwoy scientific ninja tools are barely used in Boruto so it doesn't count
Not everyone. Just people like Boruto and Kawaki and the Otsutsuki who aren't on earth at the moment.
Outside of that, there actually hasn't been a lot of absorbing in Boruto. Absorption was created to stop the higher-tier fights like the end of Shippuden, that's all.
Doesn't that mean the ninja tech is more stronger?
The thing you’re forgetting about sasuke and his ameterasu - kage summit was right before sasuke was unlocked as a playable character with the war. Of course he got nerfed hard.
A counter argument might be that Sasuke scales down the Jutsu out of his own to be able to fight prolonged as opposed to going all out on a single Amaterasu, that casts Chakra and might hurt his Vision.
And I don't remember how explicitly / if it has been stated, but even with the EMS the Jutsu still seems to strain him
Good theory
That doesn't make sense. Why cast a weaker version of a Jutsu several times to fight for longer when you can cast the stronger version for an easy win? Granted, it will probably affect yourself more but you don't risk losing the fight lol. I'd take losing some sight instead of potentially losing my life
@@mat_s245dlc it still is just a shonen story, so I don’t wanna go thaaaaat deep into coming up with an explanation.
But missing and shooting a big attack into the air randomly would not be smart I guess.
If the Naruto universe kept things small in scale, it'd be so much better.
That reminds me of Yu Yu Hakusho. Where Hiei's dragon of the darkness flame was soooo OP in the dark tournament, but after that it was trash. Mad me so mad.
Hi dygo love the vids, also could you do SN Naruto vs MS sasuke at the 5 Kage summit, or something about power creep?
I have a 45 minute about power creep, it's a bit old but it's there
The plot nerfed the hell out those flames
By the end of Shippuden, Amateratsu and Tsukuyomi were pretty much overshadowed by Susano'o
I agree overall but one thing i think youre confused on is the pressure of Amaterasu. The reason why chars like gaara can block it is cuz when it hits something it burns and stops on what its burning. I assume sasuke made Amaterasu arrows to make up for it
I think gaara is exception. Gaara can easily split the sand particle until its all gone and the amaterasu gone too, then he can summon another sands
Do you shoot amatarasu in the direction you are looking or do they just appear where your focal point lies
They appear. Technically the former but it happens in a second. Broken move period
Well it all started when a man named kishimoto thought it would be fun to add "eternal" to a jutsu that was already balanced perfectly...
they should have just gave sasuke his own mangekyo abilities and let itachi have amaterasu himself

Sasuke surrounding himself in blame flames was such a cop out move. I’m glad the Raikage pimp chopped some sense into him.
Bro the worst part of that scene where Naruto cloaked off the flames is the fact Sasuke could have enveloped him

and using it against killer bee was the scripted introduction for the move so it worked better
Instead of going blind, the cost should've been losing a lot of chakra from using Mangekyo Sharingan
@@quentinjones6877 I kind of wish that was the drawback.
1- amaterasu didn't burn all the water up when Bee fell in and it burns everything so it would burn and burn and burn until the world was nothing
2- even if you say it deleted the hotel and frog wall we don't know if this was the fireball with amaterasu variant or just a flame breath., also there is black flames all around the hole, why are they not sparking up despite being on wood and other natrual material normal fire ignited for???
4:55- uhhh so if it didn't burn the hotel with residual flames which all are just as hot then why would it melt a metal bracer immediately, all other examples before this are 1- unarmored or 2- inanimate (in which the flames still did not reduce the whole hotel or target to ash)
So why wouldn't he have enough time, perhaps he is so fast (since he's only 2nd to Minato until KCM) that the flame WAS instantly melting his arm but his rikiri is so fast he chopped it at the elbow. It could of been up to the shoulder but you're just nit picking AGAIN
5:03- the armor is 1.5mm thick? Oh so the guy spitting flames hotter than neutron stars less than a single meter away from blobs of civilians who's brains would melt if they got within a mile radius of these jutsus are all still alive and so is sasuke and itachi at almost every instance they use it.
How are they surviving super heated oxygen in a 10 mile radius? Let alone the flames even being there just the radiation alone is a instant kill for the user and all enemies, it REALISTICALLY, would be more like Shinra tensei.
And the armor would liquify ONTO the samurai as soon as the jutsu was launched let alone if it *Fuckin touched him?*
5:33- yea it also doesn't turn the cloud village into molten glass and magma with a single use.
5:51 it's never stated how fast gara can move his sand but it was fast enough to BARELY keep up with 4th gate lee,
Are you trying to fuckin say this fire ball speed is faster than normal fire speeds?
Good job conflating tons of points to jerk off sasuke againnnn
6:57- it's not a instant apparition the jutsu leaves the chakra from the mongekyo it doesn't just appear it has to manifest first or why isn't sasuke just using amaterasu *INSIDE* of their brains since he can inject his chakra into their minds why not inject that chakra then change its nature to amaterasu
7:13 you can blow fire off you and it doesn't destroy everything it touches again examples (hotel floor and remaining walls, the water bee falls into)
And you can see pains arms are fucked
9:09 why wouldn't it burn the Shinra tensei and go through just like your argument at 6 minutes for garas sand wall?
10:16 so the same way itachi could have when his fire was on nagato,
Or the same way a jutsu which would pull the caster into the fire would force the user to dispell the fire.
11:15 Fuck kaguya
11:41 bro he has a rinnegan and kami there was actually nothing sasuke could do, it was fucked I do not know why he chose chakra rods though unless they count as manifestations of the TSO with the SoSP chakra? Which negate all jutsu.
12:05 why doesn't he give his snake susano armor like madara did to kurama and then use amaterasu to coat the armor, what would be better than that, an amaterasu which is both max defense and offense and has an area of affect the size of mountains and leaves a trail of melted smoldering black flame anywhere he goes. That was a huge miss by ksihimoto and you for not even considering it.
12:46 again it can be blocked, the buildings and trees outside the hotel didn't have any other impact, and the arrow is a good idea, it penetrates and burns, the base ball does not have penetration damage in any example you show, (itachi hotel, sasuke snake sub, samurai armor, gara sand wall)
13:46- KCM or kurama would just negate it with pure nature beast chakra
16:05 the target would be the rasengan so no, it would burn it, then the smaller rasengan would cancel out the chidori, I think that happened anyways, it brought the rasengan down from blowing sasukes whole fucking upper left half off and just took his lower left arm and narutos lower right. That seems logical??
See how inconsistent your arguments are you nit pick for your bias but ignore other inconsistencies to further your point. I'll add more edits as I go on this is initially made at minute 3.5

@@aceclover758 if the fire isn’t making contact with anything, it will be extinguished lol
Yeah if a full powered Shinra Tensei can destroy the leaf village, it should be able to counter Amaterasu

"Boss fight, when you unlock it:"
Amaterasu doesnt spawn on your target, it gets shot from your eye towards your target like seen by itachi
No, it spawns at the target, if it misses the target than it shoots to wherever the user was looking at
If it “spawns” where he’s looking how does it miss?

@@christianbaker581bro it takes less than a second. It spawns on the target and is surely faster than arrows. It got nerfed hard and had to
6:10 To be fair frog stomachs and tailed beasts are kinda combustible. Sand is not. The main component of sand is silicon dioxide, which is, as its name says, already oxidized. So it doesn't burn. or at least even for Amaterasu it should take longer to burn than something that can burn normally.
