  • This is an excerpt from a recent seminar presentation I did in many national locations on developing SketchUp Backgrounds.
    Here I cover two types of backgrounds that are created DIRECTLY IN SketchUp and two types of backgrounds created "outside" of Sketchup utilizing INTEGRATED rendering programs. The rendering programs are I-Render nXt and Lumen RT 2015 Architect.
    A step by step technique discussion is presented on all 4 types of background development.
    Check out KruppAssociates.com for many additional examples of quality backgrounds that I use and the final results.
    I wish to thank those who have plagiarized this video. After all, in my book, taking my stuff is nothing but the highest form of praise!.
    Please LIKE and SUBSCRIBE to my channel. I need everyone's help to play all 21 of my videos 100%. Don't need to actually watch if you don't want to, just play them using the PLAY ALL button. I'm looking for WATCH HOURS to be able to re-monitize by channel. I'll reward any participants with a copy of my SKETCHUP PRIMER book. Just make a comment telling me you helped out, along with an email and I'll fire out a 380 page pdf. THANKS, Chris

      Orhan: thanks for your positive comment. I would suggest starting with the Tool Box videos on my channel to learn the basic tools before you fall into some bad habits. You will be far happier with your drawing attempts this way.

    Had a comment about textures; The backgrounds should be applied "as texture" and not "as Image". I agree and apologize for not stating that . I normally do when discussing textures.

    Having trouble getting terrain in Sketchup to blend w/ terrain in Vray - any hints/tricks?? Thanks

    • @Krupster_architect
      @Krupster_architect  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't use VRay but generally I use Photo editing software like Photoshop to blend along the intersection of SU and rendering, post rendering. I use cloning a lot as well as whatever blending tools are available.
      In SU place trees and bushes, etc properly to camoflage the joint between the two first. The way I look at it is blending foreground with background.
      You can also edit your background for brightness, contrast, blurry, etc in PS prior to using it in SU. At times the background can simply be too dominant and need to be tamed down.
      I use I-Render nXt as my renderer which provides a complete set of tools to be able to add and manipulate the background ( and foreground) within their.software

    hi sir. is it possible to render the preferred background "using styles" in v-ray? i've tried it & no background can be seen during rendering...only the model.

    • @Krupster_architect
      @Krupster_architect  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Generally renderers won't be able to detect the Style background. I use I-Render nXt to add the background in the program and use the same .jpg that I use in the Style background. I-Render has a wonderful system for adding and manipulating backgrounds as part of the normal work flow. I'd check to see if V-Ray also does this. If not, walk!

    how do u make vertical tray?
    thanks

    • @Krupster_architect
      @Krupster_architect  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Please be more specific with your question. I'm not sure to what you are referring.

    • @Krupster_architect
      @Krupster_architect  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Laurent:
      Sorry, I just figured out what you were asking. To make the several vertical trays you do this:
      Go to Window>Manage Trays. Click on NEW in the resulting dialog box to add a new tray. Name the Tray in the resulting "New Tray" dialog box. In the same window check the window(s) you want in that tray.
      For example, if you want a tray for Layers, make a new tray and name it Layers, then check "Layers" in the window options in the New Tray dialog box, click on ADD. An additional tray will be created along the right side of the screen, named Layers and it will have the Layers windows with-in it. You can use this method to add or subtract trays and/or add or subtract windows with-in that tray.

    that style of watermark if i render the scene it does not show the styles that i made? i follow all your instructions but in the end. while rendering, i cant see what done...

    • @Krupster_architect
      @Krupster_architect  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      I render my scenes with the watermark style of background in I-Render nXt and they render beautifully. What renderer are you using? Maybe your render software ignores the SketchUp background? Maybe there's a setting in there to fix that? Another thought....do you have some kind of plane in SketchUp behind your model that is hiding the watermark background? Anything in the SketchUp model will hide what's behind it, including this kind of background. I'd be interested to know if you discover the issue and a fix.

      owww thanks for your concern... my bad i didn't read carefully of the description of this video. :) sorry my bad. "The rendering programs are I-Render nXt and Lument RT 2015 Architect."

    • @Krupster_architect
      @Krupster_architect  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      LumenRT has it's own backgrounds, so the watermark version don't work there either. I would think that other renderers would work however.

    My background sky disappears when i click on scene ( after adding in style box as u did )

    • @Krupster_architect
      @Krupster_architect  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Since you didn't say I have to assume that you clicked on a different scene tab than the one you were in when you added the watermark sky to the model? or you didn't UPDATE the scene to save the watermark addition you made. Right click on the scene tab and select UPDATE

    • @othman1495
      @othman1495 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Krupster_architect Yes brother i updated the scene, still it is disappearing

    • @Krupster_architect
      @Krupster_architect  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      What you need to do is update EVERY scene you want to have the background in. You'll have to add the background to each scene first however. Either that or delete all your scenes, add the background sky and remake every scene.
      Bottom Line: adding a background sky changes the Style definition and requires a Scene update to maintain the modification.
