Where was the start of this trail head. Is it above tortilla village heading to Apache lake?
Did you guys drop in from the Tortilla Ranch area? Kinda looks familiar to me. Driven out there but never stopped to check it out.

the drawing are always on what looks like scorched rocks. what do u think scorched them plasma or electric sprites? squatter man @942 always involved
The scorching as you call is is really just called patina, or oxidation of the rock. Very common and most petroglyphs that remain from olden times are found on patina because it lasts.
