    My two sons, now 38 and 41 were unschooled! My husband and I are so happy we did 🤗 They are both kind, productive men with their own stained glass home business but most importantly, they are Christians!!! Acts 2:38 was obeyed! Keep it up, you're doing a great job!

    Your children are so well rounded in what they learn. So much more than the school system teaches. I know this because I am 63, college degree and I learn so much from your channel.

    God bless you ❤ when you go to the beach, collect sand and dye it with food coloring or get different colors from berries or veggies. Make sand pictures or vases. I think that would be fun. You may need rubber gloves. I imagine that may get quite colorful.

    One thing I enjoy about Minnesota is the enjoyment of the outdoors similar to Maine.
    As a military family we lived in many places and took advantage of all the educational and natural places around us in every place we lived.
    We lived in DC for 3 years - what an awesome experience for my children - especially for my daughter who was interested in politics and ran for County council in a northern beltway county and for a daughter who was studying architecture.
    BTW, I think I saw baby boy kick. ❤️

      lol probably he is usually active in the evening 😊. That’s neat to know about Minnesota. I love the outside environment. We went to NYC last year it was fun but definitely I like city in small chunks.

    I homeschool and we are student lead but not unschoolers. I feel she wouldn’t know all the options if we didn’t find some suggestions. We have been reading books that neither her or I would have chosen but a book list suggested and we have learned a lot from those books. Currently we are doing a government unit and it’s her favorite. Now if I would have asked her if she wanted to learn government she would have said no but I bought a book that explains it and read a chapter and now she asks for it first everyday. If she hates something we pivot and go in a different direction. My most important goal is teaching my daughter how to learn.

      To me what you are doing is unschooling. We can introduce many things through field trips, read alouds, art, videos ect. We are parents can introduce a lot in so many ways something’s they will love and cling to and want more other things they are ok just seeing a tid bit. I think you’re doing a great job.😊

    May I ask how you teach reading? I’m really learning towards complete unschooling with my 17 year old special needs son. He can sound out cvc words finally and has a handful of words he has learned, but even with homeschooling his entire life and trying just about any curriculum I could find though I have found a couple of other special needs ones one is like $250 and it’s designed for children with down syndrome which he does not have, but he does have an election, developmental disorder, moderate as well as autism. His cognitive level is considered very low and I wouldn’t really be as worried about teaching if it wasn’t for the fact that he wants to learn and that I want to open the world up for him as much as possible, but I also can’t just keep pushing the same types of lessons and making him so frustrated to where he just has no joy in life at all. So I’m really struggling this year and we’ve had many days. We’ve literally done nothing. I mean we’re living life and we’re learning and we’re cooking and but I mean not even an educational video so I really praying right now or doing Thanksgiving season and then we’re gonna do Christmas season with lots of books and hands on stuff that I can come up with, I’m praying to start over again in January. We’re planning to graduate at 19 so to speak so I’m really wanting the next year and a half to be really uncool but still working on reading so your just naturally learn to read or do you do lessons? Do you have a preferred way? I’m just curious with your experience and I know you’re super busy with Azariah and the family and I’m looking at these old videos I’m not even sure I’ll notify you that I posted or asked this question

      So I would explain to him he needs to read before I graduate him. I would also get books about things he does enjoy. Say engine repair start reading through it with him. At that age most likely once he gets it he will jump quickly. With the autism especially I would make a time of day say 8 I might say something like hey it’s 8 it’s the time we agreed on so do you want to work on phonic or reading the engine book? Have him grab either you don’t have to look over his shoulder just say the engine book he reads a paragraph then you read a paragraph or more it will keep his interest so most likely he will way to learn more. It doesn’t need to be engines just whatever is his thing. Go to war museums ask him to read signs out loud. Put on audiobooks or podcasts. Lessen his media.

      @ we read to him daily, he picks books he enjoys, it’s not that he does not try, the drs say his cognitive level is too low but it’s hard to give up trying. He also can’t add and subtract. He does finally know numbers through 20 and can with help figure out higher numbers. Is beginning to recognize coins and certain bills of money. It’s all so so hard for him.

    Enjoyed this video. How do you teach mathematics? Does that skill come with these activities?

    • @mommabear2many
      @mommabear2many  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I talk about that a bit in other videos this is more about the seasonal rhythm of the year. We have a couple programs that the children can choose from. We let them choose also how much they do daily or if they do daily is a choice. Some may do no math for 3 days then spend 2 hours 1 day. We don’t actually log stuff but on average our children finish 1 1/2 years of math in 1 year. Some more some less. 😊

    Your oldest daughter does she date or have friends her age.?

    • @mommabear2many
      @mommabear2many  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      All my children have friends all over the US and in Canada. They also have there own lives, work ect. BUT no we do not do traditional dating. We hang out together with friends. IF there was a special person then there would be intentional dating. Not dating for physical lust. My girls deserve to be treated better than that :)
