This lady’s got grit. Well spoken, intelligent, and a go getter. I know she’s cried herself to sleep more than once, but hasn’t given up. Lord please bless and protect her and her children.
Mr Wonderful lost his fight with cancer October 2019. Trying to figure out what to do when the pandemic hit. Couldn’t keep our home so sold and moved into a van, watching the housing market explode and trying to get back in somewhere. After 4 years of boondocking never paying campgrounds, rent or mortgage, I paid cash for 117 acres in Virginia. I just finished working a job in another state and tomorrow I’m heading back to my land to get started on my homestead. Life sure does have its ups and downs! Whatever your dream is, don’t give up.
@@TakeTheRide I am so sorry for the loss of your Mr Wonderful. Thank you for your kind words and for reminding me that there are people out there who are kind. I hope something really nice happens to you today.
@@BreakingNewRoots Thanks. Losing my ranch hand contract and also my living arrangements all at the same time. God has a plan, not sure how it will work out. But I'm sure it will be okay.
I was homeless living in a camper hiding from the bureaucracy because In Michigan it's illegal to be homeless. Now I'm living in my own home in Mexico.
What a huge inspiration. Goes to show you if you are determined you can do and learn anything. DONT GIVE UP. temporary pain and struggle will be worth it if we work hard and work smart. I want land with a river. Tired of apartment life and constant rent increase. We were never meant to live like this.
I went from homeless to homesteading in 5 years. Except I own my home outright. It was a very very hard process. I also have 2 acers with a stream and a mountain spring water fed home. It's a wood cabin home, 3 bedroom 2 baths. It's over 130+ years young, with all original wood floors, siding, and basically everything is original in the home. When we purchased the house, it was completely off grid. So we paid 40,000 for it. It was a long hard process that's for sure.
That's amazing! 🥰 That's where I hope to be in a few years! Fully debt free, cleared land, nice barn for the goats, and looking at building a more traditional house on this land! Or if the town will allow for nothing else, at least a new mobile home! I'll sell very cheaply or even give away this one to bless the next person trying to pull themselves up as long as they pay to haul it off!

To anyone who thinks you cant do this..... OH YES YOU CAN!!! I turn sixty this year. I have been unable to work since 2005, due to illness 🤒😷🤕 In 2020, hubby and I moved to a falling down farm. We moved here because we couldn't afford the healthy foods I needed to improve my health. For three years, I crawled around the garden (it's mostly sand, an ancient lake bed in Northern Minnesota.) This year my health is showing great improvement 🙌 It is not easy. Life isn't easy. No one promised me a rose garden 🎵🎶🎵 But every year, our health improves, our relationship improves, our homestead improves. My biggest dream now is that one of our grandbabies will learn to love this lifestyle & want to continue on after we are gone. But regardless of what will happen, we plant more fruit trees, more fruit bushes, and improve on the permiculture of our homestead. God has a purpose for what is being created here & He has been tremendously involved in the bounties we harvest every year. I am anxious to see what happens next. So many people on so many prepper channels complain that homesteading is only for the rich. I'm happy to see this video, because you are proof that anyone can do it if they set their mind to it! We couldn't qualify for a mortgage, but when the hammer dropped, I put my foot down and looked for money... We co- purchased 335 acres, seller-financed, with four other families!
That sounds amazing that you could go in on land with other families! Prices are insane to buy right now! It for sure has us looking at leases versus buying! We shall see what happens
@@BreakingNewRoots Our micro-community has since collapsed, unfortunately, but the land purchase was done through a corporation that we formed in order to protect both the individual families as well as the collective. Like, because we have a corporate contract l, if someone doesn't make their share of the payments, we can legally sue type thing. So far that hasn't happened, but a few families have discovered that off-grid homesteading isn't up their alley because "money" is better, so they've left - but still making their payments. Shame, I say, as money is not important: healthy homegrown food is!
I’m so sorry to hear that. The lifestyle definitely has a bit of a culture shock to it and some people just don’t to do it. And that’s okay. But I’m so thankful for the ones than do want it and continue with it.
This story touches my heart so much. Growing up in a military family, the oldest of four girls, the constant moving. No roots to speak of and always worried what my sisters and I would face. And then a young widowed mother of two boys, my life's security, a roof over my head, that I could trust seemed to escape me. Another huge situation at 62 had me feeling lost, and potentially homeless. One of my sisters, and her husband, was able and kind enough to solve my situation. We scoured for a reasonably priced property in a safe location. And approaching the deadline we found the perfect place in another state. I am so relieved in my spirit and wake up grateful everyday. 10 months in I have a small garden, and chickens, some household repairs done. And am excited for the future. Years of happiness flow just writing this. The nutcases in DC can pound sand. I am not playing their games anymore. Omg! I am homeless person looking to buy an acre or two to homestead. You could sell small acreages for financing your plans. I would buy! Please consider me. I am retired on Social Security so I have income...just not enough to rent an apartment. I live in a motorhome.
@@rioseventytwo1121 I’m thinking about that. The problem is that to sell an acre, it would have to be surveyed off, and I would need to have an easement to get to it and those documents are expensive. And then you would need a road put in to get to it.
Thank you so much for introducing me to her channel. She is doing the exact same thing I am doing and for the same reasons. I got tired of having to move because landlords sold the building or family sold the land etc.
About a year ago on YT I learned about making compost in 5 gal.buckets. I have maybe 15 that I have scrounged, not purchased. I fill them with weeds (especially stinging nettles) & kitchen scraps (nothing goes to waste), then top off with water. They sit for a few weeks-months & become concentrated fertilizer tea. My soil was so bad at first, but in a short time, it's all become very green. When I see a plant that's not flourishing I pour some tea on it. Any solids left in the buckets I simply mix in with the soil then start filling it again. If you start eating meat you can sell your produce at a Farmer's Market. Anyway, your courage & persistence are admirable. Hats off to you ❤
GOD BLESS YOU! MAY YOU CONTINUE TO PROSPER! MY STORY MUCH LIKE YOURS! I'M 2 YEARS IN A STORE PARKING LOT (STILL!) BUT I WILL NOT GIVE UP, GRATEFUL MY KIDS ARE ALL GROWN, BUT THEY HAVE THEIR OWN FAMILIES TO TAKE C/O. GOD IS WITH ME, & I HAVE FAITH IN HIM! YAY GARDENING & FARMING! AMEN

Farming is not my dream, but I hope to be just like her with her strength and determination, and hopefully someday be a great parent just like her. Glad to be here with her on the farm. 💙

A big warm hug to Dani! I love what she said about being resilient and carrying herself through each day. Thanks for sharing her homesteading experience.
She's amazing! My American SM, 😂 26 years ago I was homeless for a couple of weeks and lived in a rented totally lightless room for 1 week. Then I bought my 100 square meter ruins where I've lived for 24 and 2 years ago I bought the property next door, which now gives me a total of 550 square meters! Living surrounded by nature is much better than being locked up in a cristal done! Keep it up wicked! Hugs from Portugal
I can relate, I was only in my vehicle for 3mos however, with 5 dogs. I finally found a rental on 3ac. have since purchased it thru rent to own and have been establishing a homestead over the years. I have chickens but I surely need goats for keeping the overgrowth in check! I wish I had creek on my property that's all I miss. You're doing awesome job!
Sounds like you have been able to carve out your own little slice of heaven! We have become big proponents of let the land tell you what animals it needs versus you telling the land. Just from our visits!
She's always been an inspiration to us! She was part of the reason why we had a bucket garden in our RV while we traveled! Her ability to overcome challenges is absolutely amazing and reminds us that we can do anything if we really want to.
What can I say, the quality of men I've come across just hasn't been there! 🤣 Its not that I'm not open to the idea, but I am super happy as I am and busy enough that I have little patience with "men" that just want to be ridiculous. 🤣
What about a portable electric fence for the goats. You might have to weed eat a fence line to keep it from grounding out. But is seems to work well for other homesteaders I watch. Thanks . I rent in the country and am learning too.
It was about being able to afford the fence, BUT I was visiting a friend last week and he gave me an old electric fence that he wasn't really using. It has some holes but he gave me the stuff to patch it. Now I just need to get a fence charger and I can get my goats down back to start eating!
The big thing is having enough time do d all these things, enough water to grow things and you're golden!! That's the biggest problem with making a go of it. Water and time and of course some money for tools but good for her! Awesome she's doing it!!
I truly think with how much she has overcome to get there. She has a clear and direct vision for what she wants. I really think it will be amazing to watch her make it become reality!
Are you saying instead of fencing the area? We have heard of this idea with a dairy cow. We have thought about an idea like this as we look to settle down
My 1st visit to your channel/ I could say a lot because I'm totally impressed but I'll just say I love your "can do" attitude". I think your Dad gave that to you and that is worth more than any money he could have given you. It is what has sustained you and gotten you where you are and will secure your future. You are also influencing your girls and passing on your positive attitude to them. And those goats are darling. 😊 As a single woman who raised 2 children on my own and I want to support other women who are entrepreneurs so I subscribed already.
Vermont..... Wow.....I would have put the guess on Arkansas or Missouri. There are so many areas where the soil is terrible in those regions, rocky, etc. But with regenerative agriculture.......I think so many areas can be utilized to their best potential.
Vermont has so many areas that were commercially farmed that did not continue to be farmed. More talking large hay fields that are not maintained and are returning to woods! I think goats could really be an answer if someone were to obtain one of these properties!
Great video. This woman is very intelligent, I wish her many more blessings. She is resilient and took action instead of remaining in blaming mode as many people do. God bless.❤

@@rioseventytwo1121 I’m thinking about that. The problem is that to sell an acre, it would have to be surveyed off, and I would need to have an easement to get to it and those documents are expensive. And then you would need a road put in to get to it.
Everyone has a story! Resiliency at its best!💪🏽
She really has overcome so much! Cannot wait to see where she goes!
Thank you so much for introducing me to her channel. She is doing the exact same thing I am doing and for the same reasons. I got tired of having to move because landlords sold the building or family sold the land etc.
It is crazy how many people are getting their houses ripped out from under them due to land lords!
Hats off to you ❤
What an inspiration! I am so glad this just "happened" to come through my feed.
Glad you came! Dani is such an inspiration to us and we really wanted to make sure her story could be shared with the masses!
AMEN
Love that your town has the free extra produce sharing, awesome community spirit!
Definitely a great idea ❤
It was such a cool idea for their community to come together!
That creek is gorgeous !!!!! So proud of this gal. Hard work pays off.
It was! We could sit there all day long and talk! She has so much knowledge to share and such an inspiration of overcoming obstacles!
Oh my goodness!! The story of your goats had me choked up. Happy ending, good to hear!
Thanks! Dani is such an inspirational person!
I think you're awesome. And you've been blessed with a good brother to help you out. God bless.
She really is awesome! I am sure that he is as incredible as she is! She is so knowledgeable and unafraid of any challenge!
This is such an amazing story! Such a strong Mama!!
Yes she is!! Dani is awesome!
That strong mama is my strong Mama! As one of the kiddos who was right on that bumpy rollercoaster of life with her, I can say she's the best, strongest lady I know. Farming is not my dream, but I hope to be just like her with her strength and determination, and hopefully someday be a great parent just like her. Glad to be here with her on the farm. 💙
@@Vocalovely I know you will! God bless! ❤️
Great story and definitely a person deserving of living their dream.
Yes! Thank you!
The goats 🐐 running up to the
rocks🪨 ready to be fed was super super adorable!!!
You can tell She Sits with them during feeding time like a True Goat Mother❤...
Loved that part 😅....
so proud of Her doing this all on Her
Own.... I'm Praying for this route 🙏🏾 Eventually for Me&My Children..
Could feeding goats be any cuter!!!!! They adorable 🥰.
They really are amazing! They can change your prospective if you're having a rough day for sure!
I’ve been following Dani and I’m so impressed with her motivation to make her life what she wants it to be. Thru ups and downs she does what she needs to do to build her dream. Way to go!
I agree!! Her drive is amazing!!
Truly inspiring
Dani you're truly an inspiration! ❤
She really is!!
I like this girls energy and can-do drive. Success is on the way.
She has such good energy! I don't think failure is an option in her book!
What a wonderful story--this supergranny salutes you.
Thank you so much!
You are amazing! Good to know there are still people like you.
❤️❤️
Your patience and humbleness paid off ♥️🙏This is a beautiful place, the trees, the running water is so calming and soothing, love this simple, organic country living, the fur babies are joyful and adorable, everything is beautiful to me, GOD truly blessed you, he delights your wishes because you delights in him, kind and good hearted people, so glad for you and thank you for sharing, new subscriber♥️🤗🙏
Thank you so much!! Her story is really amazing!! ❤️
Godbless you my friend ❤
What lucky kids!
Yes!!
A big warm hug to Dani! I love what she said about being resilient and carrying herself through each day. Thanks for sharing her homesteading experience.
What an amazing story and such a strong woman. I really admire Dani
Yes!! Me too!!
Ahh she’s in Vermont, just a state away from me ! Wohoo for her !
Dani is going to transform that property! We cannot wait to watch!
@@BreakingNewRoots yes lol, she has plans lol 😊
Actually I'm over in NH! Olivia had been in Vermont so much she just had it on the brain hehe
She's amazing! My American SM, 😂
26 years ago I was homeless for a couple of weeks and lived in a rented totally lightless room for 1 week. Then I bought my 100 square meter ruins where I've lived for 24 and 2 years ago I bought the property next door, which now gives me a total of 550 square meters!
Living surrounded by nature is much better than being locked up in a cristal done!
Keep it up wicked! Hugs from Portugal
Wow! That is amazing! ❤️
So happy for her, This is what NEVER GIVE UP,looks like.!!
That is very true! She has overcome every obstacle thrown at her! She is so amazing!
This hit so close to my home for me, if you ever want to chat I super understand homeless to homesteading
I've moved more times than I can recall. I love gardening. Seeing her story really resonates. Stay golden!
She's always been an inspiration to us! She was part of the reason why we had a bucket garden in our RV while we traveled! Her ability to overcome challenges is absolutely amazing and reminds us that we can do anything if we really want to.
Congratulations Dani. Keep working hard.
Absolutely!
You are awesome. You keep going. It is a shame that you don't have a partner to walk through life with.
What can I say, the quality of men I've come across just hasn't been there! 🤣 Its not that I'm not open to the idea, but I am super happy as I am and busy enough that I have little patience with "men" that just want to be ridiculous. 🤣
Could build a whole community around someone with this level of vision and fortitude. Damn those “single family” zoning laws.
Survival to thriving. Respect.
What about a portable electric fence for the goats. You might have to weed eat a fence line to keep it from grounding out. But is seems to work well for other homesteaders I watch. Thanks . I rent in the country and am learning too.
Not a bad idea at all! Will pass that along!
Dani is just really wicked awesome ❤
She sure is!!
You should check out rabbits and quail.. they are super easy..low maintenance big return..
I really want to do rabbits but I am sooooo allergic to them!
I admire her tenacity.
She is an amazing, inspiring woman. I pray akl goes well for you and your children.
❤️
Dani is an inspiration! Would love to see a follow-up video with her in a year or two to see what she's accomplished!
Hey, any time they want to come back they are very welcome!!!! I think they will be busy for a while building out their own farm!
TIE A CABLE FROM TREE TO TREE ADD A LEAD HOOK A GOAT UP . Or drive stakes in the ground add leads add a goat
Thank you so much!
I love the Hocus Pocus shirt! ❤
Haha seeing that comment now and I'm wearing my Hocus Pocus hoodie 🤣
Vermont..... Wow.....I would have put the guess on Arkansas or Missouri. There are so many areas where the soil is terrible in those regions, rocky, etc. But with regenerative agriculture.......I think so many areas can be utilized to their best potential.
Vermont has so many areas that were commercially farmed that did not continue to be farmed. More talking large hay fields that are not maintained and are returning to woods! I think goats could really be an answer if someone were to obtain one of these properties!
It was actually New Hampshire! 😂 I think with all the flooding and craziness surrounding it Olivia just had Vermont on the brain that day!
Love you Dani!!
What an inspiring young lady!!!
Yes she is!!
Great video. This woman is very intelligent, I wish her many more blessings. She is resilient and took action instead of remaining in blaming mode as many people do. God bless.❤
@wickedawesomegardening is amazing. She’s a good friend. I love her place! She has done such hard work!!!
Yes she has! I’m so excited to see her farm grow!
@@BreakingNewRoots me too. We developed our homestead for years it was beautiful then we had a situation that put us in a different place that didn’t work and now we have another we are developing that thankfully is forever. Prior to homesteading we had housing changes often due to work transfers so I always understood her struggles with the always having to uproot!
Oh yeah! I’m so glad you have a permanent place now!
This story absolutely put me and tears so motivating so inspiring I am following her page so that I could get inspired, I also would love to be able to now worry about where I'm going to live and anyone trying to kick me out , God bless her thank you for sharing this inspiring story
I wish you all the best!! ❤️
💕Congratulations on your BEAUTIFUL TWO ACRES!💕 The baby goats are gorgeous🐐🐐💞
I hope that neighbor sees this and is SO PROUD 🤦🏼♀️
Exactly lol I need somewhere that's mine and I can build my farm back!
New subscriber… hey from the beautiful mountains of Western North Carolina… hope everything works well for you and your girls…
The water sources… good deep well… river?/creek? Went back in video to get the word… but didn’t… it’s beautiful… whatever…it is😁…you’re very blessed…I am also blessed:.. God has been soooo good and beyond to me….keep on keeping on…. 👍🏻😁‼️🙏👌🏻
Loved learning more about your story Dani! Your plans are motivating! ♡
She is! She got us ready to farm again for sure! Just her ability to overcome hurdles and find the beauty in everything! Truly inspirational!
Inspiring! How did you find land with a home for 50,000? I am starting from ground zero as well. As long as I can find something livable for my son and I then I can fix just about anything I believe 💯
I got really really lucky! It was literally the least expensive property in a 3 hours radius I swear! Of all places, I found it on Zillow!
@WickedAwesomeGardening that's awesome I am going to start looking
It is very tough! Gotta keep your head up when looking! We are facing that same dilemma in NC. We are really looking into leases. When we get there we have a few we are going to check out!
What an amazing woman. So inspiring
Yes she is!!
You go girl! You gotta do it yourself for yourself. You rock! ❤❤❤❤
She truly is a rockstar! We cannot wait to see how much she changes the layout of that place and what she is able to grow!
I wish you all the best. I will be praying for your success.
Thank you so much!
Super great job Dani!
❤️
Thank you!!!!! 🥰
Plant your food tress ASAP!❤
Working on it!!! Just have to afford the trees! :P I'm putting in chestnuts and walnuts in the ground to cold stratify over winter. I'll keep a few saplings for myself but the rest will be sold as bare roots to fund the fruit trees!
What an amazing woman! So happy to hear her story, I feel like this is how a lot of people want to live now. Especially from the problems of wage stagnation, corporate record breaking profits yearly, the mass commodization of housing, and extreme increase in rent and housing prices. Tenant protections dropping, I could name it all but we get. Gardening is revolutionary ♥ thank you for the video.
She has overcome so much and has so much to share! We hope to see her back recording again soon to continue her journey!
Awesome
Awesome video. Great to see Dani and the homestead from a fresh perspective.
Thank you so much! She is so incredible!
Oh My Gosh Dani, havent seen you in a few years. GOOD FOR YOU!
BELLY ACRES!!!! Hiiiii!!!!!
Good job on getting your land, home, chickens, and goats 🐐 !!!😊🎉❤ Bravo 👏 👏 👏
I absolutely love gardening and farming ❤
I’ve been gardening for 17 years but she still inspires me!!!
So true! She is truly inspirational!
You hit the jackpot with that lot!
I think so! I think she also saw the roughest piece of property and seeing the vision for it!
The goats are adorable by the way.
This is sooo encouraging!
I am trying to do some of the same things you are.
Using what you have, ei: pallets,
Is just the thing!
Pallets are such a universal tool on a homestead! What makes them even better is that once they deteriorate, just slap on a new one!
Pallets are amazing! I am collecting about 100 of them right now to make the pens a lot bigger!
Good for you. Developing a beautiful life. Actually--Cultivating a good life!! U are a hard worker.
God will bless all your efforts. Hope things go well for you.
She is such a hard worker! We cannot wait to watch the transformation of this farm take place! We are so hopeful she brings everyone along with her!
thank you for the inspiration. it's taking me time to find my place and have all the finances work out-still gardening and learning, and grateful for that, but not quite what i'm longing for and hoping for. this is really inspiring to listen to.
Dani is such an inspirational person. She has overcome so many obstacles! We followed her journey prior to us being there and we will for sure continue following! She is doing something amazing on a rough piece of property!
She is friendly and lovely. I love goats too.
Love this story...God blessing young lady may your dreams come to fulfillment...
She is so amazing! Her perseverance is absolutely amazing and a true inspiration for us to settle down again!
wow, thank you for the encouragement to 'keep going' one step at a time. I keep
pushing through the obstacles abd hope to get where you are some day ... and more than for me but my griwn kids, this is what i want for them!🙏
Yes!! ❤️
I am so very proud of you Dani. God Bless you always. Good job on the homestead.❤❤❤❤😊
❤️
Did she make fencing out of pallets? Smart woman. This woman is so full of life and joy. What a great gal. I love her passion and resourcefulness.
She did! Cheap or free and easy to put together. They break? Easy replace with another. She is so resourceful and her energy radiates to others! She's amazing!
Thank you, ladies. I subscribed . Take care of your shoulder joints.
Thank you! Will do!
Oof I feel that. Literally. 🤣
Also, thank you for subscribing! I've been light on content lately but I'm feeling really excited to get back to it now! Look for a video tomorrow morning!
I’m so, so proud of you. Your property is beautiful and your plans are sound. Best wishes Sweetheart, the future is yours. ❤️😁🌹
