I love all the things you three said about the Holy Ghost. I particularly liked how you describe the way the Holy Ghost changes us with motivation, inspiration, and transformation.
I appreciate hearing how modern-day apostles are literal witnesses of Christ. After I joined the church at the tender age of fourteen, a pastor of another faith tried to tell me that our church wasn't true because of that scripture saying an apostle needs to have witnessed Christ. That pastor was assuming Christ no longer showed himself to others in our day. Thanks for having Brother Taeger as a guest.
One thing that has always struck me is Peter's denial contrasted with his change after the resurrection. But I have come to the conclusion, that Peter's denial was pivotal in that change. When you've disappointed someone you love deeply, maybe to the point of being afraid of losing their love. When you've disappointed yourself so profoundly, when you know you should have been better, that marks you to make solemn vows to never, ever be that person again. Such, I believe, is Peter.
Your comment about needing Jesus to stay reminded me that when we were down South at a family reunion we played the alphabet game as we rode every day from our lodgings to the event venue. We knew where to look for those hards letters because we had passed by so many times already. One of the ways we found J was to spot a sign that many good Christians had in their yards. As we drive my 9 year old granddaughter made it to the letter J. She yelled out in the car, “ What we need now is a ‘Thank you Jesus’ sign. “ It struck my as a profound statement.
Thank you for a wonderful introduction to this significant time in history....and I have continued on learning about everything mentioned in your session. I am grateful to you all. Wendy
At minutes 28:42 there is a mistake. Dr Taeger said that "God truly raised his son from the dead". God did not raise Jesus from the dead. Jesus had power to lay down His life and power to take it up again. John 10:18 “No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father.” King James Version (KJV)
In your quote D&C 11:12-13 you say it reads to judge righteously and then you interpret that to mean to not judge. The scriptures don't tell us to refrain from judging. Please be cautious as this is a BIG difference.
The 40 day ministry of the Savior related to the temple and taking the disciples and their wives through temple ceremonies; Hugh Nibley discusses many ancient documents that record this. The great power shown by the apostles was due to their conversion (Mathew 18:3) through the baptism of fire and the Holy Ghost. They already had the gift of the Holy Ghost (John20:21-22), what they were waiting for in Jerusalem was the baptism of the Holy Ghost or the baptism of fire and the Holy Ghost (Math. 3:11) - this happened on the day of Pentecost. This conversion caused them to have a MIGHTY change and become new creatures. Afterwards, they were not afraid of anyone (Acts 5:12-16) and they could preach, heal, and teach no matter what threats were made against them. The change in Peter was not slow or imperceptible or gradual - he was mightily changed after the day of Pentecost, an event, just like Alma in the Book of Mormon (Mosiah 27:24-27), and others. This baptism of fire and the Holy Ghost is a key part of the Doctrine of Christ that every member of the church should be seeking (2 Nephi 31:17,18), yet today it is not taught in the church. I am not sure why this is the case because it was taught clearly in the past, but now it is ignored.
Mormons use similar Christian terms like God, Jesus, Holy Spirit, and even quotes from the Bible. Satan himself quoted from the Scriptures (Matthew 4:1-11). But similar Christian terms and quoting from the Bible don't make you a Christian. Knowing the true identity of Jesus Christ (John 14:6) in a world full of false christs and false prophets (Matthew 24:23-24) will mean the difference between you going to heaven or hell. Mormons teach and believe that their jesus is the brother of Satan, which contradicts what God says in His Bible that Jesus is God the Son 2nd person of the Trinity. So Mormons, which Jesus do you believe in? A. Your jesus of the Book of Mormon, who is the brother of Satan. OR B. The Jesus of the Bible, who is God the Son 2nd person of the Trinity.

Love your teachings and testimonials
Another fantastic lesson!!! Love you brethren!
One of my favorite mission companions!
Thank you for blessing my life and studies of our Savior ❤

Thank you for including the testimonials from the various brethren!❤
I loved your thoughts about how the Spirit guides us.

I wish Elder Holland could write my church talks! 😂
Thank you, I am truly enlightened!
I learned that "40 days" is symbolic of "many days" and not nessessary literally 40 days.

Same as pope. They cast lots
I see you have two clocks on your bookshelf. Is that your spin on "time and time again"?
What town is Dr Taeger from? My dad is from the Worcester/Northbridge area. I don't get to encounter many members from New England
I had a hard time finding your podcast this morning. It was not listed in my Come Follow Me App. Not sure why that happened.
