    I just love everything about your TH-cam channel. Your videography, your calming voice, your storytelling, your beatiful pictures! The low key, none stressfull approach and the mood you set. Great story telling.
    Talking about “bad light,” just look at how many car commercials are being made under bad light (night, cloudy days, rain). This is some great motivation, Faizal.

    Hello Faizal, your video caught my attention. It was "shooting in bad light," which seems like all we have of late here in Minnesota. I am very inspired by your black and white ICM photos, and one of my favorites is the street pigeons. ICM gives the image a fine art feel; its unique and different and makes use of bad light. You have inspired me to give this a try. Best wishes

    A strenght of overcast light is that it's super even. I've found it's great for making reds and greens pop in particular. Or, like you might see in your own black and white stuff on here, it makes for shadowy monochrome.

    Thank you for this video Faizal, as a Londoner I often find myself very demotivated by the grey weather, and this video lifted my spirits. I have 1 question - did the IBIS of the X-T5 have an impact on the intentional camera movement photos such as the pidgeons at 12:11 ? Did you switch off the IBIS or did it not make a difference?

    Someone once told me that as long as you can see, you can make a photo. And, there's no such thing as "bad" light. What matters is that the light is right for what the moment means to and feels for you.

    A lot of videos about ICM or shooting in bad conditions have been appearing on my feed lately, this was the best of them by far. I've been going through a rut lately and not only because of lighting conditions. Ive moved to the countryside (i used to live in Montmartre, Paris) and its been difficult to motivate myself to go out. Ive been giving myself too much pressure to do what Im used to doing and looking for the same types of scenes. Maybe its time to go hunting with exercices in mind and not just to fill my portfolio. I might just find something new to get me out there again. Cheers mate 🍻

    I’m living in Boston at the moment for about 6 weeks and have gotten to shoot a ton in the city, so it’s really cool to recognize all the locations here and see how you capture them. I feel like I am definitely too light-dependent at the moment, and dropping the shutter speed is something I always forget about, but such a great way to change things up. Definitely need to remember that for future grey days! Haha

    You should try incorporating flash into your intentional camera movement images to freeze the subject (keeps them sharp), and then move the camera in the direction you want the blur or light trails, I love using this technique with flash, especially on days like the one in your video 😊

    • @FaizalWestcott
      @FaizalWestcott  ปีที่แล้ว +1

    • @matthewpoburyny5147
      @matthewpoburyny5147 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@FaizalWestcott oh cool! I'm going to look up that video you did then on using flash. I did this technique with bands and dancers to try and capture energy of the performance (having stage lights in background definitely helps with cool light trails) and I would use something like ND8 filter so I could do exposures of at least 1 second. It might be cool to try this technique at night or during blue hour, or on rainy days where the pavement and stuff is reflective. I love your videos, I find them calming and beautiful; all the best!
