I'm pleased someone agrees. The out-takes were far better than the comedy section in my opinion... stick to the photography... with some of the usual gentle humour of course.

Before half of your audience book now for Arran, they should know the relatively cheap ferry service is relatively unreliable and liable to be cancelled at a moment's notice, usually because CalMac regard anything stronger than an invigorating breeze as a danger to life, property and their ancient vessels. Ardrossan port also suffers breakdowns with the ancient roll-on/roll-off ramps. It's also likely to be one of the cheapest bits of any stay on Arran - accomodation can be expensive and, like the ferry, difficult to secure at busy times. Book well ahead! Once you get there though, it's a great place!
And if you're taking a campervan, don't take shortcuts when disposing of the waste tank contents, you will get into trouble. Seriously, the locals are properly annoyed with this.

Pure class with the start and kudos to Gavin's step-dad for taking part. Love Arran and always looked forward to my time over there when visiting the firefighters when I was in charge of the area. If your schedule ever allows it Thomas, you should go right down the Mull of Kintyre and shoot back over to Arran as its a beautiful island to capture both on the island itself and from the mainland
There’s not that many videos on TH-cam I actually laugh out loud at anymore but the scene of you two rolling around on the floor “fighting” really made me chuckle, you guys must have had such a laugh filming that 😂
You guys are the best! It so cool when you guys get together, and with uncle grumpy too, as the stuff you guys come up with is always pure comedy gold. Getting Roy involved here and on Gavin's channel is so good and will be great memories for all down the road.

Great to see you guys back together again and really interesting to see how you used the weather app to maximise your chances of getting the shot you wanted. Not sure I'd have thought of that, but shooting the sunrise on the east coast, with no clouds, would probably have been pretty boring

the reunion we have all been waiting for did NOT disappoint! Gavin, fisticuffs, naturist photography, and fart bloopers...none of us could have predicted all those things coming together! Absolutely brilliant!

I used to live on the Ayrshire coast and my house looked over the sea to Arran and Ailsa Craig. When the sun set begind Arran with nice clouds above, it was just epic. Lovely island. I now live in the Highlands which has its own amazing scenery but i need to plan a trip back down to Arran some day.

Thanks Tom, I needed a good laugh this morning! I love the simple composition of the image you did. I think my favorite part of the skit was the head smack with the calendar when you handed it to Amanda.
Hilarious, and the outtakes at the end even better. 🤣. Nice start to another road trip too! BTW the audio was a bit weird around @5:10 onwards - the shot in the van. In headphones felt like it was swapping left to right. Was that the 360 camera being temperamental?

You're brave, getting under Gavin. Thank you for the explanation of why you didn't include the foreground on the shot. I will try that mindset in the future as I fail miserably when taking minimalist photos. I bought last years calender but the tax for shipping it aboard was 20 euro (brexit). 40 euros is a lot for a calendar. Do you have any plans for the digital realm that can be purchased. Your ebook also not available to me "This title is not currently available for purchase" (amazon). :(

I always enjoy your videos Thomas. You went to Arran and missed out Cir Mhor and its iconic neighbours. For a climber and photographer, that requires superhuman restraint. Perhaps there's more to come on this road trip?
Great video as always - and I found your section of the video about the weather forecast particularly interesting. I've been trying to use my weather forecast app to help figure when to go shoot, but rather unsuccessfully. I would love a more detailed explanation of how you use the weather forecast, what you look out for, what particular conditions to know about (say, to predict misty/foggy conditions)! In any case - thanks for the uploads 🙂

To add to your preparation for UK based trips. Get the OS Maps app. An annual subscription is about £60, but you can use it on a tablet as well as the phone and it’s great for having the whole UK 1:25k mapping to hand.

I’m a great admirer of Thomas Heaton as a photographer. He is arguably the best landscape photographer currently. However, what is it that he always looks grubby and permanently sleep deprived, and has hair that looks rain damped and hairbrush deprived? I love him anyway.❤
