I so love naked trees.. fully dressed trees..&trees in process of shedding? I have dreamt of doing these sketches.. so now I may actually attempt this! You have a way of simplifying things,,, but I'm FINALLY realizing I need to ATTEMP a few hundred times to actually bring together all that I'm learning from you.. You seem to exude patiencefor which I thank you😊
It would be great to have the title of the books you showed: it's had to find good reference material. Great video - thanks for sharing your tips so clearly!

Thank you so much. The tip "seeing" shading sphere to clumps of the tree was just the step i so needed. Simple, i know, but so esssential, and i just didn't see it before. I was trying to see Too Much in the whole tree not the clumps. Thank you. I'm just starting studies/portraits of each of the trees on my new home place. I've been overwhelmed because the light and color and all changes so much each day, so starting when trees are losing leaves. Actually starting with twigs! haha. The sketches by Rembrandt were also very helpful, how just a few lines can create details and character that only comes from dedicated observation over time. Thank you again. I know i'll watch this episode multiple times. The simplest tip can be the essential step to "seeing" that makes all the difference. Watching you work thru the sketch is invaluable to me. I live in Oregon, USA, so fingerscrossed you do a Cloudscapes 10 Tips. the cloudscapes here are incredible for their dramatic contrasts and also for taking away the light source i need to sketch trees and old tumbledown barns! hahah
This is so helpful--I was just about to put a tree in a sketch I'm working on and I'm pretty overwhelmed by it--it's a huge, gorgeous tree and I'm inexperienced. So this is very, very helpful to me right now--thank you so much!
Thank you for the tree tips. I have been looking at and doing little studies of trees, types, shapes etc. for the past few months. You have simplified things for me. Nice video 😊

I just got my Tiny Pallet in & am sooo excited but also really just starting over again. Do you have any tips for beginners trying to learn perspective ? Also Ty for this my trees look like blobs😅
Love the music in this video. Are you able to share the title and source? So often I draw and paint in complete silence, which sometimes is needed, but having beautiful music playing in the background might be a nice change. Thanks so much.
@@LeslieStroz Thank you. By the way, I recently ordered a full pan mixing palette of 14 colors produced by Roman Szmal from Poland. The package from Jackson's Art Supplies arrived today and I was eager to see for myself the bright colors I had heard about and try them, especially since they come in a metal box for such a reasonable price. The colors are vivid and jewel like in full concentration but soft and delicate when watered down. Combining colors such as Cobalt Cerulean and Quinacridone Gold, I get the nice muted tones that I like. I'm going to enjoy experimenting with these new colors. :)
Helpful? Oh yes ma’am ❤. Excellent tutorial. I’ve been practicing and it’s so much fun Mind if I ask about the book you used as a reference for the oak? I love books like this and would like to add it to my collection.
💜Your art is fantastic! I love seeing how you bring your ideas to life. I'm on a similar journey, sharing my own techniques and creative process on my channel. It’d be awesome if you stopped by sometime-always great to connect with other artists!

I’m so glad this was helpful. Try sketching trees in a small notebook so that it’s less overwhelming. You can do it! 😊
I love your calm and very useful videos. I feel I’m in such good company
Thank you so much! ❤
This was a very interesting study……thank you!
My pleasure! 😊
Thank you for another video of wonderful tips. I need to follow the tip related to overthinking things, as this often stops me from getting started. 😊
It’s sooo easy to overthink things, but you can definitely learn to trust your eyes. Your brain will thank you for the break. 😊

Beautifully produced video. So helpful!
Thanks for this video Leslie!!! It's veryl helpful. I am a real tree lover and love to draw/painting them 😊
these look gorgeous, such wonderful tips, thank you for sharing ☺☺
My pleasure! 😊
Thanks Leslie, another great video, thankyou 😊
Thanks for the tips. I find it striking how “heavy” Rembrandt’s lines are. Not having the luxury of fine liners really stands out.
Thank you so much for this wonderful video!
Great tips - thank you Leslie. After looking at your drawings, I can see that I need to loosen up.
This was needed learned so much thank you 😊
