With some of the fastest performers in the HISTORY of this event the race for gold in the Men's 200 free was one of the best, but what about the winning times?
NBC coverage has been TERRIBLE. Just make the videos like they were for years!! The 2008 and 2012 TH-cam video catalog is INCREDIBLE. Why can’t they make the videos like those??
And haven’t they been uploading every race twice? Once the same day that is mostly JUST the swimming and then one after the fact with longer celebrations and walkouts? It seems needlessly confusing for any casual observers
The stream on Peacock was constantly getting interrupted by a screen saying 'coverage will resume shortly.' It happened about four times right before the final started. When the swimmers were on the blocks, it was incredibly annoying. Fortunately, it returned to normal just before the command.
Should there be a deeper standard pool depth? Maybe if it matters that much they should limit some pools depth as well so that the pools dont have to compete to see who can be deeper
No one's saying the races aren't exciting. But it's disappointing to see such great effort met w/such (relatively) slow times. Unlike what Rowdy constantly contends, times ALSO matter, even at an Olympics.
Yeah i dont care what MY time is if im winning an event but... I like to see people swim faster than anyone ever has before and it makes for a better race
@@_R_R_R I mind if I win an event and didn't go my best time (or very close to it). But the worst is losing an event in which I know I'd have won had I gone my best time. THAT stings, lol.
There's a new Chinese doping scandal covered by WADA, so I wouldn't count on Pan's record as 100% clean. Look at his disastrous time in the 100m freestyle qualies...
@@unravel6189 LOL! Yeah, read the NYT article of this morning about the new doping scandal: "BREAKING: SECOND COVER UP BY CHINADA AND wada_ama? Again Chinese swimmers involved. One of them at the Paris Games. An Olympic Gold medalist. This time it’s not about a heart medication. This time we talk about steroids. Did WADA kept it silent again?" Now look at Pan's result of today's qualifications, barely scrapped the fifteenth place with some awful time for someone who made a single world record in a relay event...

The IOC has been very quick to issue copyright take downs for any videos using Olympic footage. After seeing some journalists pull video they captured and receiving multiple blocks in the Marchand 400 IM video (that’s why there’s random cuts in it because once it’s uploaded all I can do is remove full segments) I don’t want to risk things getting blocked constantly. That’s why this video uses no Olympic race footage, I may try adding some back in to test the waters again but I’m being much more cautious after back to back to back claimed on the same video.

Agree 👍
I don't know about the "pool standards", but I think the sooner David will improve his start the faster he will be.
And I am biased... 😃❤️

DAVID POPOVICI , NUMBER ONE !!!
Like I said before the meet, one or two world records maybe but that doesn’t matter so much bc we are seeing great races
Well. It was, ideed. But this pool looks so slow. 1:44 is not that good for gold medal in 200m free and one go sub 59 on 100m breast. ☹️

David had a terrible race. The others swam a bit slower than expected, but not by that much.
