Well, I am proud to have been one of those first 500 subs. And to have shared my MatildaBP frustration with you on the test server. I am also grateful that you have almost always taken the time to reply to those of us who have been here for a while, shows the character of person you are, and the effort you make. And I know whatever games you decide to do later, you will do with the same enthusiasm, and wit we have all come to enjoy.
I think you are doing the right thing Paul. Other YT subs might not appreciate it, but you must get enjoyment from what you are doing. Dan True has an excellent suggestion, but I would have a look at Total War as well. A dedicated military/history games channel would be fun, but also a Skyrim modded playthrough would be great to. Hey Jing! At 37:41, when you start "rocking" i assert that it is NOT "rocking" you are seeing but in fact, what you have done is inadvertently hit the "R" button once, causing the TD to slowly move forward over the rough terrain giving you a "rocking" view. when you talk i assert that it is not "intelligence" you are seeing but in fact, what you have done is inadvertently opened your mouth, causing everyone to be annoyed.
I got this tank today for £25 as i wanted a bit of spare gold, and i LOVE this tank. Me and my friend ran in them and picked up 8 kills altogether and i earned 42,000 coins and around 6,000 experience. It was....amazing
I have only been playing WoT for as couple of weeks but thanks to your videos I am spending less time licking windows and I'm beginning to earn my own oxygen. As bad as I am I have never tried to cap the enemy base in the first minute, unsupported and while it is still surrounded by enemy tanks, yet I see my team try this in at least half of my games. How many of you reading this have games where you know in the first two minutes that you're going to be last man standing against six enemy tanks?
From what I have read, the T-44 had the same front slope angle as the T-54 (Makes sense), T-54's front slope is at an angle of 60 degrees, meaning this would have effective armour of at least 150mm heading towards 180mm..... Pretty awesome frontal armour for a tier 7 TD. Nice video as always by the way.
Great to see you back posting your own videos Jingles! While the replay contest was great to watch, it's your own tank reviews etc. that I enjoy watching the most :) Will be very interested to see what you thought of the SU-122-44 as I've been toying with the idea of picking up another premium TD to go along with D. Max. Especially after selling my SuperPershing, me and it just didn't get along at all! Oh, and happy new year!
I just bought this one. It's true, the quick gun reload makes you want to stay in place to take another shot instead of backing off after firing, that has been my bane several times.
I run very successfully with the SU-100 (115 matches, 60% win rate) and I've been interested in getting this one so I might just do that now! Good to see you back Jingles...such a pity I'm yet to meet you on the battlefield. Quinch1199
You nailed it...that is exactly what is going on. When i play i usually stay after midnight when the number of players starts to fall. And with that the gameplay is getting better, but not every time of course
Wedge breach as opposed to screw breach. So it works like most other tank guns, throw in the shell and pull a lever and your loaded. The other 122's like the one on the KV1s are screw breach guns, basically arty guns mounted on a tank. They don't use ready ammunition, you have to load the shell first, then the propellant in a bag (this is why they are sometimes called bag loaders) then slam the breach shut and turn a wheel on the back of the breach to make it tight, this is why the KV1s rof suck
The rammer size is dependent on the tank not the gun, so a td based on a medium tank gets medium rammer. This is a real fun td, if you love the Jaghpanter this will fit you well. So far my best credit round was 122k so you can match the tier 8 premiums.
Hey Jingles... I did the math and it actually can be about 128mm of effective armor if the slope is 45 degrees. If the slope is 40 degrees, effective armor is 140mm. That's only facing your enemy head on. With angling your tank a little adding in angles I don't want to take into account I'm sure the armor could push the 150-160mm range.
This is an incredibly fun Tank destroyer to play, along with the JT 88. Rather than the camo net though, i personally went for the coated optics, to help with the (imo) low view range. Since your gun won't win any sniper contests and you'll want to use your mobility, i didn't really see much use for the net because i like to use it very agressively. It is also already very stealthy. The view range is the only real weakness on this truly terrifiying TD.
Download standart damage panel Jingles, it's like normal but with received dmg indicator and it even has countdown of remaining repairing time, not only filling up the bar.
The effective thickness is around 156mm when you shoot it from an 90 degree angle, but like 212mm when angling at 45 degrees, and 180mm when just angling a little bit. Hate not being able to penetrate it with my SU-152 sometimes :(
This tank is a beast!! brought it to help level up my Object 704/ 268 crew and earn some credits along the way. Would have to say it is one of my better purchases. Great video as normal Jingles.
Thanks Jingles, old review, still relevant, thanks! But mate, repetition is tough and from 48mins it has nothing to do with the tank. Those minor things aside, cheers for the fun reviews :-)
Great video, thanks again, I think that mystry rocking may have been because you hit the the E Key and engaged cruise control, so you were not rocking you were moveing slowly.
Funny thing, just yesterday I watched your ISU-152 garage review where you said the SU-152 had crappy 122 guns. The top gun is even better than the one on the SU-122-44 :)
Ok, so for those of you who don't get it (perhaps even Mr. Jingles himself.), the Wedge Breech IS what makes the difference. In the original A-19/D-25T, the breech was an interruped screw-type, which, despite its strength for constant artillery fire, made for a rather slow reload rate. Installing a wedge breech would make the gun not totally suitable for constant fire IRL, but it makes loading much faster due to a semi-automatic breech action. :)
Yes it takes a few seconds to activate, but think about it. If you are hiding in/behind a bush and the enemy doesn't know you are there. Their guns won't be aiming directly at you. When they spot you they will need to move their gun/hull which causes reticule bloom so they will have to aim again. You will be alerted before they can fully aim, move your self, and lower your chances of being hit by the enemy.
Good vid! Never hurts to walk away from this game for a while. The people that don't understand that, don't have a life and they don't expect you to either!
I haven't tried the JagdTiger 8.8, but my impression is that it's really good. I do have an SU-122-44 though, and I like it a lot. So I'd say that what you should get depends on what you focus on. If you are focusing on the German TD tree, then go with the JagdTiger 8.8, if you are focusing on the Soviet TD tree, go with the SU-122-44. This is because premium tanks are excellent crew trainers for vehicles of the same type. You can e.g. put your ISU crew into the SU-122-44 with no penalty.
Bloody good vid, Jingles. Glad to see you back in the saddle. I ame close to watching that other guy...uh....Queery-Infant or some such rubbish. I prefer your "normal guy" style . PLUS...we don't see a superimposed vid of you catching flies infront of the puter !!!! Keep'em coming, Mate.
I have lots of problems facing these even with my KV-3, they bounce shots like crazy, I'd say the frontal armor especially if they're on a slight incline facing you is nearly impenetrable if they're angled at all as well.
Now that you mentioned doing something different, I would love for you to do some Map-Reviews. For instance, select 5-6 replays showcasing how to (and how not to) play Malinovka. How to play Abbey, etc. Perhaps even mix the replays up with different types of tanks, but maybe to much work selecting appropriate replays. The reason is that you sometime drop some golden acorns about map tactics during other videos, and a lot of people could probably benefit Anyway, gonna try some WarThunder now :)
The SU-152 with a rammer+vents+100% crew gets about 6.21sec reload and this premium gets about 12% worse DPM, so that's roughly the amount of its premium tax. It's close but given that SU-152 is clearly slower, for performance it's a nice premium TD
Well what would make 6th sense kick in in the first place? 1. You've fired your gun. That'll usually reveal you. 2. Someone's within 50m of you prox spotting you. You'll know it cause you'll see them too. 3. You're not hidden well enough. In 1 & 2 you'll be trying to escape right away anyway, so the perk won't help. In 3, the delay is long enough that if you don't know an enemy sees you and he immediately turns to aim and fire, they'll have a very good chance to hit if they happen to be close.
oh, also have to mention, in your last battle you take a blind shot at a KV-1S, which miss, but the shot actually takes out the hummel somewhere beind him which also isn't spoted, so the shot wasen't wasted at all :)
2) My gaming style with the Su-122-44 (which is my general TD gameplay) is: -Use the speed and agility of this TD at the start of the match to get to a strategic position before the can spot me going there let alone reach that position. -Use the crew camo skill and net to wait undetected till an appropriate enemy arrives, shoot once/twice (if i can't see myself making a damaging -Shot, then I would've at least spotted him). -Use my speed to run away. -Go for arty if their line is puncuted/Repeat
It looks almost like a 60 degree slope on that which effectively doubles the armor thickness. I know, I've fired shots from my IS with the 175mm penetration gun and I've bounced on those things.
i thought the same thing as you, same old 122mm till i actually took a good look at the stats, it is the same old 122 except now it's an alpha gun that shoots like a dpm gun. great td imo, my most epic moment in it was racking a full HP type 59, i also got nearly 3000 damage that game, we lost unfortunately (quality of the teams has taken a massive nosedive lately) but i have a replay of the game if you would like it.
lol Im the same, Im a musiscian, on tour until end of august, cant play wot and miss it a lot, I'm like a junky in the groenland, and I still watch jingles vids every day on my lap top, wich makes it frustrating, but I still love it! I'm hooked!
I get what your saying, and to some extent I agree. It is damned expensive and often its "I been spotted? You dont say..." with an enemy tank two meters away. However, in all the borderline cases where I might have been spotted it is very nice to have a clear yes or no answer.
I have both, and I enjoy both, so if you had to choose, then in my opinion, If you want a slow brawler that can absorb shots frontally, and you know how to hide your sides, and money making is a big concern of yours, then go for the SP. If you enjoy playing fast, maneuverable TDs like the StuG III, go for stealthy ambush approaches, and don't care about making less money than you would with the SP, then go for the Su-122-44.
Waited the special for Cristmas to get this tank at reduced price at around 4000 credits..i loved it on the test, and finally got it! Awesome little nimble tank, sick dpm..And i had isu 152 crew to train anyway...si it's a perfect fit.
Jingles, would you please consider using XVM - not for the stats (those are off by default), but it's got this nifty addon counting damage done during battle, it's very useful when analyzing replays. Btw cheers for the great videos!
I have to say that i absolutely love love love this tank. I play it as an aggressive TD with a chip on its shoulder haha. It's truly a tank to be reckoned with on the battlefield regardless of the tier match up due to its 122mm gun.
I've found that, particularly since the Christmas x5 bonuses started, that I have very few close games. One team of the other just gets completely steamrolled, and you just have to hope you're on the right one.
Imo, its the difference between knowing you might have been spotted and knowing for certain. Of course more useful on some tanks then others, but always useful.
MM is indeed nice to you in a new vehicle in the first few matches. Usually it sets you up with equal tiers. But when you are platooned it nulls the effect and you get the normal MM.
I run my Obj 704 crew in this, and you can race around the map and blow a lot of tanks up.. It's easy to be fairly aggressive in this TD and be pretty successful.. I'd recommend this just for the fun and it easily makes credits; which is why you get it.
You're absolutely right! It isn't your duty to make videos only about WoT. Do whatever you like! Would be great to see you making other game reviews. The new TotalBiscuit? ;-)
Hey jingles, you do realize that smooth ride effectively reduces your aiming time? since your reticle won't move as much when you move, you don't have to wait as much for it to resize ;)
And in case 3, you still have to take into account the time it takes you to notice the light bulb show up and to start a hasty withdrawal. That could be a quick death if you happen to be in a field. I just don't think it's something experienced players need to waste time on. I switched to recon on my Chaffee. I'm working on turning it into a detection machine.
I got this from the Holiday say with 30% off. You probably bought this for 4725 Gold like I did. Its not a good sniper, but I can hit things pretty well from mid-range with it. It fire its gun very fast. You need to work a bit in Tier 8/9 matches, but if you're top tier, you will dominate, my first game with this tank got me 9 kills and it scares all the lower tier tanks and has a very good chance of deflecting armor. It makes good money, as long as you don't waste your shots or use gold ammo.
I was one of those pesky little buggers that sendt a pm in the replay! ;-) Just wanted to say happy new year and keep up the good vids. Have learned alot from watching those. And u`re not alone in getting utter shit teams! ;-)
Good speedy glass-cannon of a TD... although its easy to play too aggressivly. And on some maps you have to, horrible gun depression and view range (I can guarantee that you'll be spotted before you see anything... unless if you play it like a second like support or a sniper [which is diff. considering the gun]).
Been looking really forward to this myself. Having spent more time than I wish to admit playing WoWP Alpha, and wanting to beat my head against a lead pipe while doing it...I played 15 minutes of War Thunder, and was blown away. I think it does a better job of capturing the WoT/Ace Combat Arcade style, where as WoWP is shooting for the MS Combat Flight Sim/Aces High crowd, which is a complete departure from WoTs easy to pick up, difficult to master game mechanic.
The KV-1S also only requires a medium tank rammer despite having the 122mm gun as well. Yet, the IS requires a large rammer.. despite also only having a 122mm top gun. I don't know why they do what they do... but yeah, there ya go.
A typical lemming train is when one tank goes in one direction and a "train" of "lemmings" follow him because they have no better idea of what to do. He stops, they stop. He moves, they start moving again. A lemming train is not to be confused with a push on one flank, which can actually be effective. Lemmings typically freeze in place or dive for cover the second they encounter any enemies, even if they outnumber them five to one. Lemming trains are about as useful as tits on a fish.
Ah, Jingles, you did this TD no service :( I bought it with the gold from the contest (plus holiday discouts, 4725 gold in total). The most I earned so far with it is 117,532 credits (87.000 after repairs and ammo) and 5000 damage. Also, with Rammer, Vents and Brothers in Arms, you can pimp the reload time up to 6.60 seconds :D
Jingles im not sure if you have this tank but I know a lot of people would love to see a review of the AT-15A. Im not sure if I want to get this or the at-15a. They both have their strengths and weaknesses but im still not sure. They are 30% off this weekend so it would be a great deal
Looking forward to hearing what alternatives to wot you are looking at. Have to say I've enjoyed your wot vids, so they'll be missed if you abandon the game altogether.
is3 is pretty much map dependant, on some close to 0 gun elevation and low acc renders it useless, but on city maps its great. Tiger 2 is also great since its got everything a heavy needs and almost no cons. Not to mention amx 50100 that has frontal close to is3 higher pen speed, acceleration and 6 shells. T8 has just only good heavies imo.
love how in the last match he fires at where the KV-1S was and kills an invisible hummel and then says "our arty counter batteries their arty" when he is the one that killed it rofl.
I'll still be doing WoT content, it's what most of you come here for after all. But I can't JUST be doing WoT forever, at some point you get tired of anything, and I've been getting very tired of WoT lately. It happened before, stopped playing for six months, then came back and you lot got me on TH-cam as a result. ;)
Great review, in my Jagdtiger 88 on Sand River, I was circled to death by one of these bastards. I'd suggest AIOMOD by RKPhantom, it's an all in one mod that includes a lot of things, including a damage panel, that instead of filling up, has a count-down in seconds. It also uses XVM light, which just shows hits taken, damage dealt (including last shot) as well as a cap time, which says how many people are on cap, very useful.
Hey jingles, what if I shot a tank right at the stump of the barrel if that's the right "word" but wouldn't that make the tank inoperable or not being able to fire its cannon
in the last game you were showing you said your arty countered the enemy Hummel, but it was you. you blew him out of that bush while shooting blind on that KV1S. :D
jingels, i really like the new chinese tanks on the test server (my tactic make low the gun depresion work). would a type 59 be useful and worth the 30 euro's to make money and train crew for the chines mediums?
Hey Jingles do you know why the super pershing was taken out of the game? Was it because it was so cheap and when they put it back its going to be more?
Jingles what MOD is it that you use that shows the tank name as well as the country that it is from. Would like to know as it looks really good. Keep the videos coming thanks
you need to take a long break from doing anything, like 2 weeks. you have defiantly earned it. is one of the other game world of war plains, that would be cool to be able to see.
the winter garage? It wasn't a mod, it was something wargaming did during the Christmas holidays, it changed back to the normal garage view in like mid-January
Part1: I urge you try and replace the Rammer with a Binocular Telescope/Coated Optics. Now I understand the Rammer decreases the effective time between each shot more than the EGL Drive, But getting the first shot counts more in Tank Destroyers, and the extended visual spotting range along with the EGL Drive really gives you that, try that setup at least (Camo net - EGL drive - Coated optics/Binocular telescope), I found that to be very helpful to my gaming style.
I got this tank today and i got to say... HOLY CRAP I LOVE THIS THING!!! The armour might not be very good at all but long as you stick with a heavy and he soaks up the rounds for you, you can just murder everyone (if you play it right) i hope you enjoy this tank as much as i do :)
hey jingles, im grinding both soviet td and ht lines and i want to get either the is6 or the su12244. my question is, does the is6 earn so many more credits than the su12244 to be almost double the price.
Great fun this tank, especially for the slightly crazy me that don't like to sit around in bushes too long. Tried it on the test server (ofc people dont play too serious there), never played any regular TDs (only hellcat) before....but sure looks promising.
One thing I noted on my SU-122-44 is that it occasionally seems to reloads a lot faster than it's supposed to. It happens fairly rarely but often enough for me to notice it. Am I imagining things or is there some sort of weird glitch?

Actually on that mirovanka match you fired a blind shot at the kv 1s and missed but hit the hummel
Sounds good. Many thanks for taking the time to offer those tips.

Also to answer your question for effecitve thickness of it. (90mmX.45degreesloping)+90mm=130.5 effective thickness.

2) My gaming style with the Su-122-44 (which is my general TD gameplay) is:
-Use the speed and agility of this TD at the start of the match to get to a strategic position before the can spot me going there let alone reach that position.
I love that in the last game you missed your target but killed the hummel.
OMG JINGLES UR BACK! HAPPY NEW YEAR JINGLES!, I FINALLY CAN WATCH TH-cam AGAIN, Jingles what is ur NA server username?
How in the hell did you hit that arty?
he running warpack XD
I got this from the Holiday say with 30% off. You probably bought this for 4725 Gold like I did. Its not a good sniper, but I can hit things pretty well from mid-range with it. It fire its gun very fast. You need to work a bit in Tier 8/9 matches, but if you're top tier, you will dominate, my first game with this tank got me 9 kills and it scares all the lower tier tanks and has a very good chance of deflecting armor.
It makes good money, as long as you don't waste your shots or use gold ammo.
I was one of those pesky little buggers that sendt a pm in the replay! ;-)
Just wanted to say happy new year and keep up the good vids.
Finally!! Been a while hasn't it?
Jingles, armor at 90* x 1.5 = armor at 45*
Ex. 120mm @ 45* = 170mm effectiveness
Jingles im not sure if you have this tank but I know a lot of people would love to see a review of the AT-15A. Im not sure if I want to get this or the at-15a. They both have their strengths and weaknesses but im still not sure. They are 30% off this weekend so it would be a great deal
All mods are linked in the video description.
Looking forward to hearing what alternatives to wot you are looking at. Have to say I've enjoyed your wot vids, so they'll be missed if you abandon the game altogether.
By the looks of it, it seems the su-122-44 is the sturmgesütz drei of tier 7 :) One of my friends also has it and its a phenomenal support vehicle.
is3 is pretty much map dependant, on some close to 0 gun elevation and low acc renders it useless, but on city maps its great. Tiger 2 is also great since its got everything a heavy needs and almost no cons. Not to mention amx 50100 that has frontal close to is3 higher pen speed, acceleration and 6 shells. T8 has just only good heavies imo.
late merry xmas and new year Jingles.
8 straight losses in my IS7 today; need som of yor fail vids, loolz.
cheerz
love how in the last match he fires at where the KV-1S was and kills an invisible hummel and then says "our arty counter batteries their arty" when he is the one that killed it rofl.
Jingles, what kind of contour mod do you use in this video? I can't find it on Curse. Keep up the good work!
Jingles could you please do a review and gameplay of the tiger P to the maus as your reviews are always balanced and interesting.
jingels, i really like the new chinese tanks on the test server (my tactic make low the gun depresion work). would a type 59 be useful and worth the 30 euro's to make money and train crew for the chines mediums?
Hey Jingles do you know why the super pershing was taken out of the game? Was it because it was so cheap and when they put it back its going to be more?
Jingles what MOD is it that you use that shows the tank name as well as the country that it is from. Would like to know as it looks really good. Keep the videos coming thanks
you need to take a long break from doing anything, like 2 weeks. you have defiantly earned it. is one of the other game world of war plains, that would be cool to be able to see.
Hi jingles i dont realy know if you know already but your using an NVIDIA GPU but you can put V-Sync on that will help monitor lag to disappear
37:39 Jingles you pushed "R" key while requesting fire with "T" key :)
It's not the bump that made you go forward
It happened to me several times
the winter garage? It wasn't a mod, it was something wargaming did during the Christmas holidays, it changed back to the normal garage view in like mid-January
JIngles is back. LOVE YOU
Jingles if you would pick a premium tank destroyer which one would you pick and do you think it' worth the gold to buy the su 122-44.
Yes. It is so worth it
Part1: I urge you try and replace the Rammer with a Binocular Telescope/Coated Optics.
Will you be doing previews of the "Chinese" vehicles coming in 0.8.3?
hey jingles, im grinding both soviet td and ht lines and i want to get either the is6 or the su12244. my question is, does the is6 earn so many more credits than the su12244 to be almost double the price.
Great fun this tank, especially for the slightly crazy me that don't like to sit around in bushes too long.
Tried it on the test server (ofc people dont play too serious there), never played any regular TDs (only hellcat) before....but sure looks promising.
YES!!! Jingles is back!
One thing I noted on my SU-122-44 is that it occasionally seems to reloads a lot faster than it's supposed to. It happens fairly rarely but often enough for me to notice it. Am I imagining things or is there some sort of weird glitch?
