From about 2:28 to the end, Tauber sings in an exquisite floating pianissimo/piano with such expressive nuances. Incredible! And Lehar accompanies so beautifully. It is a treasure to have this beautiful performance to listen to forever.
Unfassbar! Sensationell gesungen.
Lehar and Tauber, a marriage made in Heaven. Incomparable. Just a small correction to the caption written : Tauber was not German but Austrian, born in Linz. And Lehar was not Austrian but Hungarian. In Bad Ischl, across the river Traum, you can see Lehar Villa on the left and Tauber Villa on the right.
they surely had a special great friendship. you can see how tauber many times softly touches his friends shoulder. and it is no secret that lehars favorite singer was tauber and he composed many songs especially for him to perform !!!
0:35 Tauber jabbing Lehar and saying “come on” before abruptly cutting to the next take is a rare and hilarious insight into the relationship between these two legends!
Franz Lehar looks like a businessman, not your typical composer! Ive always had the complete opposite visial concept of him as I have listened to his wondeful music over the years!
This is what I hear. TAUBER: I am very glad to send my best greetings to all my friends, and here I present my greatest pal, Franz Lehar, the famous composer. He will play and I will sing to you, "How I love to kiss a girl." LEHAR: I also wish to send my best wishes and regards to all my friends. TAUBER: Come on.
Baritone with screams. Are you deaf? Why you calling this a singing? Such small rooms for screams, there is no any acoustic here and cant be, only for screams

Its so easy to do! But he screamed too much to be called a disaster. A bari with screams

To finally get to see and listen to Franz Lehar perform on film brought a smile to my face. For the time being, I feel as if my life is now complete.
The utter and complete joy that emulates from not just his voice but his character as a person too! What a treasure to a world he was….
Mind blowing singing!

My goodness ! That is amazing that their villas were so close !🩷
+cavasbilimoria4208. And actually Tauber's real name was Ernst Seiffert. He was born in 1892 and died in London in 1948.
Pure magic-what a team!
Tauber was an AMAZING singer!
This is a fantastic historic document.

Magnifique document
Certainly recorded in Lehars Villa in Bad Ischl, Upper Austria. superb !!!
That town is where Brahmms composed his 4th symphony!
That's a very precious treasure! Thanks a lot for posting this video with two music giants! I consider Tauber the Danube Caruso.
Apparently this was filmed/recorded in December 1932, and first shown as a New Year message for their friends in Britain.
A World Star and his composer!Wonderful! The old austrian Style!
Encantador. Obrigado pela postagem.

Tauber sings "Gern hab ich die Fraun geküsst" from Lehár's operetta "Paganini" (1925).
That answered my question. Many thanks

What does Tauber say and Lehar say at the beginning “I send greetings to all my friends “ - I didn’t understand what he said entirely word for word
