So great that you guys sailed with your Mother and Aunt. My Mom was my cruise buddy. I lost her year and half ago, and I miss her so much. Cruising isn't quite as special without her along. Spend as much time with your Mom as you possibly can. You will miss her much more than you think when she's gone.
In 2015 we did the 15 day cruise from Ft. Lauderdale to LA. I loved every minute of it. In the 70s we lived in Ft Clayton. The back of our house faced the Miraflores lock. I was able to see our old place from the ship. This was the best place as a kid out of all the military bases we stayed. I would definitely do this cruise again.
Thanks for taking us all along with you! I've been on one cruise, the Mexican Riviera, which was a lot of fun - once I started taking Dramamine while out on the seas, and letting it clear out of my system when we were pulling into port, so that I could enjoy some libations on land. I was able to watch the port pilots jump onto the ship coming into port, and back off when leaving, which was pretty cool. I described the ship as a floating hotel and restaurant that took us to different ports. The wife and I want to take an Alaskan cruise after we retire, along the inland passage, which allegedly is so calm that I won't need to worry about being seasick.
Awww, this is my fave kinda We’re the Russo’s vid! I felt like I was right there with you four on your vacation! I enjoyed every moment of this, and wished it could’ve been an hour long! On a side note, I bet “Liz Taylor” absolutely misses the heck outta Mama Russo 😂 Great job on the videography & editing as usual! Always my best to you guys 👍🏼👏🏼🥰🥂
Fun video. My husband and I took a cruise through Panama Canal in 2013. We flew to Florida to catch the ship and sailed to San Fransico, closer to our home. It was a great trip.
12:20 Don't Dom' know if you realize it but that ship along side you is the Artania which was the original Royal Princess, built in 1984! Nice to see her still sailing!
It is a delight to see you posting this video as we were on this very same cruise with you. In fact we did share a little time at the same table with you during high tea on one of those sea those sea days. Thanks for the memories
I enjoyed your video. We have done full transits of the Panama Canal both directions many times but after watching your video I think we will have to go back again.
I’ve been looking for a princess 15 day Panama cruise video for an entire year. Not only was this the only Princess 15 day video I found, but it was the perfect video. Not too short, not too long, just enough detail and clips to keep you interested without giving too much away. Thank you. I loved the clip of the ladies “shaking what their mommas gave them”, amazing! It looks like you had a very enjoyable cruise, and I am that much more excited for my trip departing in 24 days! Can you please provide a little more detail on the standstill traffic in Cartagena. Do you recall what time you were headed back to the ship? Was the traffic bad all day, or predominantly on the way back to the ship? Thank you. We have a cooking class scheduled, and have given ourselves 1.5 hrs to get back to the ship… I’m now a little concerned that could be cutting it short! And on that note, would you mind confirm if ship time is the same as local time? Thank you. Our itinerary says we leave Cartagena at 3pm, but I cannot find information anywhere to ensure our plans of attending the cooking class will in fact pan out as planned!
So our departure time was 5pm and we left the old town at 2:40 and were dropped off at 3:30. It was about a 10+ minute walk back to the ship. Traffic was pretty hectic most of the day but I don't remember it being as bad earlier in the day. I would suggest contacting the people putting on your class to ask what they think about timing to get you back in time. Note, since we were on a tour, we didn't have to look for a cab. I don't know how easy/difficult it would be but there are a LOT of people outside the port who would be willing to drive you around - just arrange it so you don't pay until the end of the day so that they wait around for you. Also, ship time when in port is always local time.
Oh my gosh we also went on a 14 day Princess, cruise Jan. 18 for 14 days our room also had a partial view and we went through the Panama Canal our second time going through the canal also, first one the old locks second one the new locks ,so much fun.
My first Princess Cruise was with Emerald last year and I loved the ship and got hooked on Princess. And definitely I am doing the Panama Canal on Emerald. Thanks for the video!
Doing a 21 day Seattle to Miami, Canal cruise, this October. A day in Panama City, and the next day, in transit. Sailing on the NCL Encore. Lots of sea days. Cabo and Grand Cayman will be tender Ports.
Great video! Good to see Mama (and Aunt) Russo enjoying themselves as well. Good thing I was having dinner while watching this video….all that food would have made me really hungry!
Thank you for this wonderful vblog. I was looking at this very same cruise today for 2026. After watching your video i plan to book my cruise as soon as the dates become available. Thank you so much and i subscribed to your channel today. Winderful vblog as someone else commented it felt like i was there with you. 😊
Love cruising last one was a European river cruise up Danube with canal locks. We could see the passings from our cabin window. We were not allowed to open our balcony door while going through the canal's locks, sometimes there were two or three per night.
I followed you guys for years when I was RVing. Then, after I sold my Travato, I pretty much lost track. Great to see you on the high seas. I’ll be doing this cruise, in reverse, in a couple of weeks.
I was just getting off this ship on January 7th from Ft Lauderdale to LA! Hope u had a great time! The Good Spirit bartenders were among the few of the amazing staff and crew!
Joel and Kait, for the last few months I have improved my video-editing iMovie skills, which is a lot of work. This effort makes me appreciate your movie-making skills even more. Your cinematography, production and editing is simply superb. Even though this about the Panama Canal, you are #1 in RV TH-cam. Other RV influencers take note.
In November 2019 I sailed on the NCL Bliss for a 21 day cruise from L.A. to N.Y. so very similar to this cruise but visited quite a number of southern Caribbean islands. And that wasn't even the best part - I booked 2.5 months before the cruise and was able to score a great deal on a balcony cabin - I am a solo traveler so this was a super great deal. Previously I did an 11 day cruise in a studio solo cabin which was also fine. The studio lounge was a really nice perk. I made a cappuccino (for free) to take to up breakfast. ☕
Have been wanting to cruise the Panama Canal. Maybe next year. BTW - Kate’s hair is beautiful! I remember when you first started and she shaved it all off. I thought “what a brave girl!” Thanks for this video!
It was so good to see your Mom again - looks like she's feeling great. Kate - I also would have liked the crafts! Great video y'all - you made us want to do that cruise.
Great video, lots of good information. I’ll be boarding the Emerald next week for a Panama Canal cruise. Our cruise is the opposite of yours. We’re going from Fort Lauderdale to Los Angeles. I can’t wait to go. 😊

Hi I love your video. I'm glad I found it. We're going to PC cruise on a Disney Magic ship in 2026, and I'm already watching videos lol. What's the name of the excursion you took in Cartagena Colombia? Thanks 😊
We got to talking to the head chef as he was asking us how our meals had been. We told him how much we liked things but missed some of the Indian food we’d had on our last cruise, so he said he’d make us something special
This was interesting to see. Also good to see Christine enjoying herself again. Saw recently where a storm took out the docking area for a cruise ship and no one could disembark. Glad that wasn't you guys.🛳 🚢
Love your cruise videos! Do you drink the water on the cruise ship from tap? Or do you filter the water you drink thru a 3rd party device? We are cruising next year and this was a huge question mark for us!
We drink it right out of the tap. It’s well filtered on the ship. We typically bring large water bottles with us and fill them from the machine in the buffet.
Love your videos but I wish there was more concrete information, like costs and how you booked your shore excursions. Through the cruise lines or on your own. I hear horror stories about taxis. How do you find an honest one, etc.
Sure - if you look at a map of Panama, you’ll see the central part of the country curves. In certain spots when you look west you see the Pacific and East the Atlantic - hence the sun rises west to East so Pacific to Atlantic.
