wtf is the inversion reinforcement system even for? Everything seems like it comes with hefty nerfs, and the benefits don't outweigh that? Am I crazy?

someone tell me what I am missing? Explain to me how most of this system isn't just trash and pointless? Give me examples, I'm trying to be interested
I do believe you are losing defense on hunt, the only one that seems to be worth is recovery since there are little to no downsides. ( they could be translation errors not quite sure, and if it is a translation error you should be increasing def by .9 instead of losing it.)

what i want to know is why when dead bride misses you with her focus beam missing the frozen hold affect, how come if you accidentally walk into it the holding duration is 10x longer? anyone? please ... lol
The inversion system was an afterthought someone came up with in less than a day.
With the damage modifiers when it says -15 it means your taking 15 less damage than usual but all the rest I believe it's to pick one to buff a way a character is played. And change the corse of how they are played. To give the game more dynamic? Maybe idk haha
The one thing I don’t get why is the mission solo? This is a multiplayer game.

Easier to design it for solo. That simple. They are lazy and cannot be bothered making NEW content for a group of 4. Its like they cannot design content for the classes they made. There is not much real synergy between the classes other than buff stacking anyway.
Also I keep hearing that if you group up before entering you can go in as a group. Why? Only guess is so players can exclude people they don't like? Not sure otherwise. Maybe players from other countries don't like Pugging.
Worst update ever most tedious garbage so tiresome.

Your guesses completely missed the ball. This is the company stealing corrupted mods from warframe without facing legal issues. It's literally the exact same concept. A buff at a cost, which if designed correctly or even within reason, MIGHT be a good idea, but at it's current state, not even worth considering to use.

You don’t necessarily have to wait , you can always do the missions , ittle give you one piece , 50 percent drop , but you can replay
This game could have been the best because running around in pug groups (good pug groups) killing mobs and bosses is fun. But the systems within systems is the worst. Plus at higher levels they need better drops. I know your strength come from modules and upgrading them but the weapons seems very limited.
Would it have killed them to raise the level cap or weapon levels..I don't want buffs that also penalize. That's stupid!

OMG YES! Exact same thoughts. Subbed earned! All these vids saying how great this is. It's one row of mediocre perks and 3 rows of 'who gives a f' perks. Most of the rest of the update was garbage too. Seriously, with all the build up vids to this update? WTF?

only unlock the season. It makes invasion missions much easier. Everything else is basically not worth using.
I mean, my biggest issue is that I get gold to get 3 rewards, and all 4 missions today have given me 3 copies of the same item, which I don't feel like that is how it should work, rather pointless to get 3 of the same item instead of 3 rolls on the table. Especially since this first one only has Hailey parts.
Will this effect the whole game or just when entering an Invasion?
the system is kiss/curse. You gain bonus, at cost of something....You did not misread....someone think this is a good idea.....
Some of them are ridiculously bad. Like, getting a miniscule amount of bonus fire resist but your skills cost more to use? Another gives you toxic resist, but firearm atk and explosive atk go down? Huh? However, some are pretty good. The one that gives you max MP for 30 seconds in exchange for slightly less skill range? Definitely worth it, considering MP regenerates. On the flipside, the one that increases your max health, but lowers your defense? Better pray that there are HP orbs nearby, otherwise its just lowering your defense for no good reason. And there are some that don't have negative side effects, so might as well use those ones, even if they aren't incredibly significant.

The - could be a typo or maybe they miscoded the color selection, eitherway i'm pretty sure the devs will adress this soon. So far compared to most other game devs they've actually been listening to a lot of feedback and working hard to apply it to their game.

Defense is trash so I just stack Heath so I don't really care about that and it doesn't seem like it's all around buff you get a decrease in defense for a increase in health it's pretty simple
yeah but don't you see how that doesn't mean anything. You are gaining minimal health, and allowing your defence to drop.
Defence dropping = more damage taken
so that health you gained is essentially pointless.

take my advice give up playing they screwed the pooch big time with this update i have allmost 500 hours in the game unlock all but 2 descendants the INVERSION REINFORCEMENT SUCKS and Sucks big time look you get buffs but look at the DEbuffs you get -32% firearm attack damage and - 32% expl-osive damage./..lol it is a joke as are the new mechanics in the Dungeons and the new invasion operation things.. i have allready uninstalled the game lol GL. and yes you are reading it right for EVERY buff you add you take massive hits in other stats...
I think this is meant for those super super try-hard whales who has purchased all the ultimates and has thus had time to upgrade everything, have all the best mods and perfect builds and have pretty much finished the game, this is a way for them to stay busy and feel they still have a purpose. I will not bother with this system.
Im a f2p with everything on my ultimates and still find this as trash content, they took an L with this update

I think I'm just going to find the exit door on this one. I am a dedicated casual farmer, this is getting too hard core for me. I felt like I could keep up before on my schedule, but not anymore.

It's a terrible system. Buff one thing but nerf yourself in something else. I think they said they're getting rid of the negative aspects this week. I can't see anyone using this right now. This is Nexon's idea of "balance."
You gain some, you loose much.
Many CC for TFD utilize builds based on high DPS and speed runs so with that being said i can see how these oddball buffs will work out.
For myself, this is not a favorable option and had stopped me in my tracks while playing through the new update to find some content that i would hope could explain something i thought i was missing on the subject.
Bunny is a squishy decendent so I'm thinking this is more for the ones who olny rock the ULT versions with maxed out stats.
Builds like that can easily sacrifice DEF or MP.
All they had to do was give us buffs to our stats. That's all I wanted:/ I don't want buffs that do something and then take stuff away::/
big thing IMO is are these buffs multiplicitive or additive. if multiplicitive all of these would acctually be huge. and interchangably work with each other picking 1 buff from each section or so on. depending how it works. dont think u will have to use all in the line

I believe you can only have 1 equipped at a time, except the last one doesn't count towards your augment count.
I think they can be turned off or on. So you could just turn on the best of the worse after you unlock them.

Its not weird or complex and its easy to understand why its in the game. Still does not make it good. A lot of them just feel straight up not worth the trouble and the only combo that gives any substantional buff is first + last in hunt. That way you be getting about +3% hp and def per kill. So it can be useful vs hordes. The rest? Idk, seem not worth it.
Literally one of the most commented things about this system is how unnecessarily complex it is and the way it's worded. Google it, check videos, check reddit. You will see everyone saying the same shit.

No, you're completely right and reading them correctly. They're not perks, they're penalties.
Also, Frost Walker and Gluttony hit less hard than the bosses or snipers in these "new" missions. I can almost face tank those two with my Gley, but god forbid I stand in a blue circle for a tenth of a second too long.
They really killed it here, the game I mean. No incentive or desire to continue playing. It was fun while it lasted, but not really, not that fun at all now that I think about it.

Remove the stupid catalyst system or make it significantly less annoying by once you add a catalyst to the socket you can change it to any letter without having to farm more catalyst for that one slot. Then the inversion reinforcement is pure garbage and why is there no new map or area? 4/10 update.
You’ll get a lot of hate from the 16 hours Cheeto dusty people who say catalyst are easy to grind💀I hate that rng bullshit and then rng to even get it at “15%”
The devs actually adressed this question during a QNA and i believe they said they're changing all catalyst slots to be omniversal or simply put work on any polarity later this season in a mid season update.
You're only looking at through you playing as Valby. My enzo runs out of mana fast. The mana buff one would benefit him greatly. He diesnt have to worry about skill range that much. Especially if you want to spam your shield regen.
Well, not really, I only mentioned valby because I spoke about the nerf to skill effect range, as an example.
There will be certain bits that line up with specific builds and specific descendants, but the overall system is pitiful and bad.
The net positive are greater than the net negatives. So they arent cancelling out.
But I do agree the net positive buffs hardly seem worth it. Unless you can level these up? 2k points to spend but only going to cost you 25points to unlock them all
It's 3 points to unlock the 4th node in every line... just saying.
In short this game is a cash grab scam. But at least they "let us eat cake".

So this tree is not meant to be a huge buff. I can see a lot of usage for specific things on specific descendants. The season ones are the most interesting and they kinda hinted towards it being that way. It's kinda passive as you play the way it goes up. Also the first time they run this so it's bound to be kinda clunky and I think it's fine for now, we just have to play it and give feedback

The story questline explains it a bit, the system is a buff AND a nerf, due to the inversion particles making our Arche unstable. What you see on the inversion select screen is correct. Doesnt mean its not a poor system though.

Getting a nerf in exchange for a buff is never interesting, it’s unnecessary. Whenever I’m offered something like this in a game I say no. It’s not worth the risk, what if the nerfs for the 3 seasonal skills I choose completely ruin my play style for the rest of the season, 3 months?
When it says decrease incoming damage by -15% it means you gain 15% defense against those enemies for simple heads
