That Scottie even had the 95 bulls over .500 before Jordan returned shows how great he was. He had the bulls at 2nd in defense that season after they lost Jordan and Grant who were the other two best defenders on the team.
This was the first Bulls game I ever went to, to see my idol Pippen. I also recorded this game and watched it later. I still remember Hubie talking about Pippen at the beginning saying something like "22 points, 6 assists. That's a given because of his talent. But how about 9 rebounds for a small forward..." etc. etc. Still remember all of this stuff. I love Pippen & Hubie.
I was at the game. It was one of the most memorable games that I ever went to because it featured my favorite player in his prime. I will never ever forget the beginning of that game when the Bulls got up big. That Pippen dunk at about 0:50 was incredible because it was so effortless. Thats how he played in his prime. I miss Scottie Pippen.
0:43 is a trademark Scottie Pippen steal when guarding someone in the post. As soon as the pass goes up he slithers around the guy he's guarding and snatches the ball with those long arms. Just about every upload I've seen has an example of him doing this same thing over and over. Usually steals are associated with gambling and playing passing lanes but Pippen truly earned his steals with great technique. There hasn't been a defensive player like him since.
I think it was during these two seasons without MJ that Pippen convinced everyone that he belongs to the group that reversed to those very few elite players in NBA history.

THE NEXT YEAR NO CARTWRIGHT, GRANT, WILLIAMS, AND PAXSON THEY WERE 35-30 WITHOUT MJ AND THAT TEAM WITHOUT HIM DONT WIN 30 GAMES BAYLESS IS CLUELESS NO KNOWS NOTHING. ALSO DURING THE YEAR AND 65 GAMES THE BULLS HAD PETE MYERS PLAYING 2 GUARD.
Although he didn't Win a Chip he needed to go through what he did without The G.O.A.T. So he could experience the other side of Fame...Which was the true gift of the success that was about to happen again. So people need to stop focusing so much on what he did with or Without Michael Jordan. They needed each other and they prove that by Winning 6 Chip's together...Greatest Sidekick Ever!
Look at the difference no tattoos, no weird braids and hair do's, players playing their positions and you look and compare this to today's game ypu can see a stark difference. Allen iverson brought that b.s. culture into the nba and steph curry made it into a 3 pt shootout for 48 minutes.
I tell you Scottie Pippen is pretty good but he needs some help. I hear the Bulls are looking into bringing in some minor league baseball player to help Scottie shoulder the scoring load. A minor league baseball player? I don't know about this.
