I don't know why I had tears today watching him sing this song. In 1997 this album "sunoh" was relased. First I heard glimpse of this song over radio and I was desperate to own this audio cassette and wanted to play it whole day on my walkman. TOI announced to distribute this as freebies and I was standing in the queue next day morning at 0530. And I got it, and still have that cassette. Just came to my mind and shared with you guys. 🤔 I don't know who else relates to this.
I used to get 10 rupees per month as my pocket money. I used to save almost years to buy Lucky Ali's cassettes. I confess I had a faar better taste than recent music era.
Ya his cassettes use to cost 125. Too costly for students like us then. We use to ask my friends to don't give any useless gifts on my birthday rather collect money and gift his cassettes.

There was an ad in Mid -Day, that MTV is doing a road show and if u are selected winner you get a chance to meet him personally and also getting a signed souvenir. i participated for the road show at Sterling cinema, i sang 'O Sanam' and everyone gathered enjoyed and supported me, i won a pass to meet him personally at 'Rhythm House' he signed a souvenir and he asked me my Name and my Birthdate ... i told him 19th September, he said its my birthday too .... what a co-incidence, then later he gave me a special invite to his Album Launch - 'Sifar' at The Taj Hotel, i was so excited and this was the 1st ever audio launch i went for and also my 1st visit to a 5 Star Hotel... Wah Taj ! ....... Lucky Ali has been Lucky to me too...... i am proud that i share my birthday with him and i also sang 'O Sanam' in dubai where many of them appreciated my performance.....
