Sorry, this stage IS NOT Caveau de la Huchette, where there is no place for a grand-piano! I know because I played there.
It was filmed in LA partly
Film was actually made en 55&56 when we were on tour and just. Before
In English and French
Thanks for your precisions, Mrs Ory. INA site, where i 've got the B/W video, gives very little information. It mentions it as part of the USIS fund and the date as 01.01.1955. Best regards.
Babette - is that your dad speaking or is it the director?
@@chashalloran I don't think that's him speaking because his voice sounds different.
@@DanieleCreole Vous le pensez ? C'est la vraie voix de M. Ory sans doute.
@@fearfeasa2 Comment le savez-vous ?
Absolutely terrific! I love Paris, the Caveau de la Huchette, and Kid Ory! And let's not ever forget Wellman Braud.
Жыцьцё мінуло і толькі зараз с захапленьнем пачуў.Так шкада што не у маладосці...
Thank you for posting this documentary!!
My pleasure
Another good one. Thank you for posting these!
Extraordinaire document ! Merci !!
Deeply moving. It sounds like someone wrote this with Ory. I never heard him speak standard French like that.
ebkazz93 seems to have an eclectic taste in music, and i can find no fault in it ...keep it coming, kid (you have done well in a short time! )
anyone translate the Creole in the Ory song . I have had it on record for 70 years & have no idea what it all means .
Here is the English translation: C'est l'autre can-can (it's the other gossip)
Madame Pedot
What are you doing?
(This line is unclear)
You talk about people
You talk about me
Madame Pedot
You gossip a lot
It's another can-can
(Shut up!)
On Claiborne Street
(Shut up!)
They don’t like you
(Shut up!)
Oh, Madame Pedot
You gossip a lot
Oh, Madame Pedot
You're no good
Madame Pedot
You gossip a lot
You talk about people
You talk about me
Madame Pedot
You gossip a lot.
@@ebjazz93 Thank you very much -- wonder who Madame Pedot was ??? A good old favourite of mine .
@@jackstanton8212 Don't know but makes me think that pedo in mexican spanish means fart, but is also a slang word for drunk and problems.
Mon trombone héros depuis 70 ans
Superbe documentaire, merci.
