    Great video, it reminds me that it has been a long time since I have been to Taxco. The interesting thing about Taxco is it used to be a hangout place for Chesperito (aka ElChavoDel8) and was very popular in the late 70s and early 80s. I remember as a kid my dad used to sell a lot of day tours to Taxco, but in the 90s it kind of fell out of favor. I think it had to do with the devaluation that happened in the 90s and it never quite recovered. Hopefully it picks up again there.

    Great vlog! It looks beautiful! I want to visit. Question: is the pronunciation Taksko or Tashko? I've heard it both ways... My husband and I are looking for the right town to spend winters in. He loves CDMX so would like to be somewhat close to there but I prefer a smaller town. I really loved Tepoztlan. Have not been to Cuernavaca in many years. Taxco seems to tick a lot of boxes as my husband prefers a place without a lot of North Americans living there and I love old colonial towns. And silver jewelry!

    • @EatBailaTravel
      @EatBailaTravel  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Haha, that was our confusion also. The most common pronunciation we heard in town was "Tasco", with an s, but I think all three are accepted. We haven't been to Tepoztlan yet but if you're looking for small and colonial this is a great place! We were supposed to go to Tepoztlan right after this but then I (Jenny) got sick. I'm still recovering from this awful cold.

    The streets, colors, and views showcase how beautiful this city is! Although the church is beautiful it was built by the exploitation of the indigenous people and that makes it hard for me to see past that, IMO. Would definitely enjoy some shopping and dinning in the city.

    • @EatBailaTravel
      @EatBailaTravel  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      although I'm sure there are direct buses available if you search online, we were making last minute decisions and ended up on a route that took 2 buses to get to Taxco from CDMX. We took a bus to Cuernavaca, and then in Cuernavaca took another bus to Taxco. The drive itself wasn't long, I think it was about a 1.5 hours each leg. So I imagine a direct bus would take around 3.5 hours

      @hannahjuarez8887 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@hannahjuarez8887 ooh that’s tough. Are you wanting to only see the town or are you interested in the nature parks nearby? I’d say minimum 3 days if you want to include Mil Cascadas and Posas Azules, but if not, I’d recommend at least 1 day and 1 night to enjoy Taxco

    Hmmm... Don't know that Taxco is underrated. Being relatively close to the CDMX it gets a steady stream of visitors including lots of gringos on short visits who can't or won't venture farther afield. Taxco, Tepoz(tlan) and Teotihuacan is usual tourism troika from CDMX.
    Being in Guerrero, it does suffer from the reputation of rust state, perhaps not undeservedly for I know someone who was relieved of his new camioneta on the way out of Taxco.

      I think at least 3-5 days would be good so that you can enjoy day trips to the surrounding nature parks

    Did you go to Wrigley when you were home? Not that stupid south side stadium. Haha
    Couple of comments. The beginning and ending couple of minutes I really liked the editing. Don't be afraid to run some b roll in there more often as you are talking on camera. Give a good look

    Salsa dancing is not a thing in all of México. Don’t expect they will just have a salsa dancing place everywhere.
    That’s more of a central Mexico thing (CDMX, maybe Puebla and Veracruz).

    • @EatBailaTravel
      @EatBailaTravel  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Believe it or not salsa dancing is almost everywhere in Mexico except Taxco which is very surprising for us. We have gone salsa dancing in most of the states we have visited. Maybe we didn't look hard enough that's all.

      @@EatBailaTravel in major cities, typically cities with more foreigners, because for some reason foreigners thing that we dance salsa in Mexico 🤣.
      There are some places where it would be hard to find a place. In Guerrero in Acapulco for sure, the rest of the state, probably not.
      For example in the huasteca region (parts of Queretaro, SLP and parts of Veracruz) you find a lot of places to dance huapangos, but salsa I have not find any in those parts (I also don’t try too hard to find them).
      In Michoacán I have not found any either(but it’s been a while since I was there).
      They play some salsa songs in weddings though. Just crash a weeding.

    Hi EatBailatravel, I used to watch these 2 TH-camrs called "Life with Leighmans" that lived in Taxco, and then one day they just disappeared off everything including bitchute. Would you possibly know what happened to them? Their last video was "weapons of war" consisting of vaccines instead of guns.

    • @EatBailaTravel
      @EatBailaTravel  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hola 👋🏼 hmm that sounds mysterious but not all that uncommon for TH-camrs to just quit without saying anything. Unfortunately I’ve never heard of them, but I hope they’re okay!
