Bingham picked us up last minute because multiple teams backed out. Much respect to that program they came to play 💯
Makes no sense to back out from playing Mater Dei. What a wealth of knowledge they miss out on playing a top 3 team in the entire freakin nation
That’s because the previous Coach Dave Peck built this program and always said they would play anyone anytime.
I’ve never seen so many kids happy to be blown out. That’s a game Mater Dei shouldn’t have taken. Those Utah kids were celebrating & down 35-40 points. We need better competition.

Bingham student here, the week up to this game everyone was talking about how great mater dei was and how we weren't gonna score anything, and then we got two touchdowns, we were hyped 🤣

This might be a good thing for this Utah team. Last time duncaville got walked on, bent over, smashed in the mouth by Mayer Dei, they went on to win state champion in Texas. Maybe this will happen to this Utah team lol
Duncanville played Mater Dei in 2021 and they lost to North Shore at state that year.
Duncanville won state in 2022.

I didn’t realize there were two Mater Dei schools in California. Guess one goes by Mater Dei Catholic which is the team that Julian Sayin and Carlsbad blew out last night on ESPN2. Not this Mater Dei! Mater Dei Catholic is pretty good too tho, they’ve won state two years in a row in a smaller classification I believe. Carlsbad looked really strong, they put it on them and Sayin looked as good as advertised. He had 3 TDs and like 225 total yrds.
Yes MD Catholic is in San Diego county. I think Carlsbad’s QB is committed to either BAMA or some other SEC school?

roderick robinson from lincoln hs in san diego last year was a beast but played most of the season injured but still managed to amass 1000+ yards committed to Georgia. dude is over 220 lbs and is a bulldozer of a running back. not sure why he chose georgia tho since they are stacked at RB. he could be a star any where else. he was the rated no1 rb in cali. top 3 in the nation @@FrangoMango007

Coz. You don’t know what Miner Pride is. Bingham hasn’t been a top team in Utah for a lot of years. Their dynasty years are long gone. Their 2010 team could have kicked anyone’s azz in the country.
They got about 3 different #1 schools in the country depending upon which video you watch

What's crazy is mater dei and st John Bosco is about 20 miles of each other and same league and both programs are on a national level and #2 what people don't know is all of those kids knows each other and played pop Warner together from both schools
They're private schools and recruit from all over So Cal. They're not all boys from the neighborhood.
@HammerHed13 yes they do but I know a lot of them know each other and played against each other in pop Warner football and #2 most all of the skills players from both schools and all other public and private goes to the same skills camps

Cali did last year and dominated both games. I was at the Mater Dei vs Duncanville ( 6A Texas State Champions) and the game and it wasn’t even close. Bosco came and pounded Allen Tx.
Cali top schools are all private & recruit players, that’s the only reason Cali teams win when they play TX schools, same with FL & GA

Mater Dei and St. John Bosco are essentially the All Stars of Socal. Follow the money. Many of the coaches in the Trinity League are paid north of $200,000/yr. It’s pseudo professional level. Big cash in high school football now.
I think MD can beat some college teams. Bosco is the only team that can beat these guys. They should play 1 game a year because there is no chance for the others.

There’s some stupid ass comments being made.
First of all, most of mater deli’s kids are from LA, riverside, orange, and San Bernardino county.
In fact, every starter in offense and defense is born and raised within 50 miles of the school so whoever said they’re using out of state kids is on some bullshit.
Second, the level of youth football play is just different i Cali. Teams like the OG Ducks, OC Buckeyes, Wilmington Pilots, these teams would crush whatever youth football team you’re repoing wherever you’re from.
Cali ball is just different as hell. It’s probably because of the population, there’s a lot of people out here.
But these are all kids from within 50 miles of mater dei campus (south central, Watts, Compton, Long Beach, Anaheim, Riverside)

Is having too many good players on one team always a good thing? It is true that having a loaded roster lends itself to high competition during practice. However, during games, if a players doesn't have to do so much because someone else on the roster will do it, does this help the player improve and become better? Does not having to go through so much adversity during a season, lend itself to making players better? No doubt Mater Dei has some standout high school players, but for all of the players that go D! they- with a few exceptions- don't seem to do as well in college or as pros. Same goes for ST. John Bosco. Could be wrong.

I think MD is more talented than Bosco this year, but Bosco just played a better team in STA; they may be more battle tested. Every little thing matters when MD and SJB face off.

@@sctrevor Scary when you think about it, because teams like Bingham and Duncanville (in 2021) are no joke. Even in games against teams like IMG and STA, MD and SJB will come out on top because of better coaching, discipline, and conditioning. There are some serious levels to this national HS.
The bosco QB is way better then I thought idk what's going on with #20 if he's hurt right now or what but he gets it going like last year and the QB keeps hitting guys like he has been be a couple amazing games
Don’t forget: MD will have beaten #15 Cen10 (last week), traveled to Baltimore to play SFA, played GA Creekside and HI Kahuku by the time they meet SJB. MD will be plenty ready, and they want Bosco’s heads this year.
