Guiding Light was my favorite show in the world, I cannot imagine life without it but I will have to get used to it. I spent over 20 years watching this show and love it with every bone in my body. I will miss it more than words can say. Farewell, old friend.

Hard to believe it's been ten years since this show went off the air! So many memories from so many years ago. I started watching this show in the seventies with my grandmother when I got home from school. The only reason I started watching it was because I wanted to watch some TV and "The Guiding Light" (before they dropped the "The" in the title.) was what was on. I remember the characters Ben and Evie, the original Alan Spaulding played by Christopher Bernau. One aspect of the show I miss a lot was the part played by Charita Bauer around Christmas time. I got hooked on "The Guiding Light" and watched it for many years. Missed some years due to work but always stayed up to date with it. I still miss this show a lot and watch different episodes here on TH-cam. I love the scene, in this video, at 2:25 with Crystal Chappell. A perfect photo to capture! This video itself is bitter sweet in that it was near the end of the shows long run. I always liked the song. Would you believe I only just searched for it now? Maybe I just didn't want to since Guiding Light was ending. Kati Mac did a great job! I see in so many comments how much the show is missed. Take care for now and Merry Christmas! 12/23/2019!

As much as I hated this dang song and opening when it first came out, I really think it grew on me! It's so positive and uplifting. And I love the Peapack location. Really great song! Keep the Light Shining!! :)
a teacher friend of mine came to my music classroom, stopped me from teaching in order to watch the GUIDING LIGHT intro. She was like, "you've got to hear this song." Now, I'm going to be teaching my students. LOL.

I think the song itself is perfectly fine. I just wish the opening credits were done a bit less amatuerish. Of course, with GL's impending cancellation this September on CBS at least, it's sadly a moot point. :(
