He would of somehow had to been a brother of the real Red, who is never said to have had a brother (as Katarina had no brother so couldn't be a brother of hers), would also have to be the son of a sister of Dom that is never referenced in the show. The imposter Red would have to had been related to both Katarina and the real Red. Dom's sister's son would not be an uncle, but rather a cousin once removed. It is beyond any stretch of reasonableness to think someone that distantly related would change their whole identity, even if such a person was ever to be introduced to the show which they weren't. 2. Where does the show say that Liz has an Uncle, it doesn't 3. Where dose the show say Katarina has a cousin, it doesn't This is insane, makes no sense, has no support from the show, and you have no clue what you are talking about. The clues where all there, and you had to listen carefully to the dialogue and visual clues. I really had to go back to some previous episodes to strengthen my belief. Red is actually Liz's mother...the last clue is dropped when he made that last phone call to Agnes...after giving her advice how to deal with boys, Agnes says "Pinky, you're being such a mom" and Red responds "yeah...I guess I just can't help it"... Red values telling the truth...he Never really admitted being her father...so he never lied to her
No! They don´t have an answer and want people to keep talking about it. Maybe in a couple of years when no one is watching they come up whit who he is! Shit ending of a serie that focus on who he is..

the director (Christine Gee) said a couple of months ago that there "would be an exchange in the final episode that will say it indirectly." So when Agnes said that and Red replied, "Yeah, I guess I just can't help it." THAT was the exchange. That exchange, with the director comments, with all the hints and clues and evidence sprinkled throughout the series confirmed it. He (she) was Elizabeth's mom
This show could have been the best show ever made except for the huge plot hole where the Elizabeth Keen character is constantly betraying the 'hero' of the show which of course is Reddington. No matter how many times he sacrifices himself to save her or wades through bullets to get her to safety she turns on him for the dumbest reasons possible. James Spader carried this show as we all know with his portrayal of Raymond Reddington but the lazy writing and plot points concerning him being betrayed for ridiculous reasons are really standing out as well seeing as I am binge watching this show right now. I don't think this show could be remade seeing as the performance Mr. Spader laid out for Reddington but it would have been nice to see him battling wits with master criminals and at the same time getting the loyalty and admiration deserved for his heroic actions. Even with these massive problems the show is still awesome. Who knows maybe we might get a couple extra episodes to give us some explanation of who and why Reddington cared so much or to clear up who he actually was. At this point though does it really matter after we have seen him literally wade through a wall of bullets with a look on his face that says the Grim Reaper is really his father? Cudos to James Spader for this performance. This show will always be on my binge list.

Season 1 episode 15. Almost to the end Red goes to see one of his old navy grad classmates and he recognizes him. So if the theory that he is Katerina did she get surgery to look exactly like him. Or did he actually survive and those bones are the real Katerina?
The bones were confirmed to be the real Redington. This is confirmed in the show and by the show creator. The real Redington is dead this was confirmed many times over, the show could not be more clear that the real Redington was dead and Red is an imposter. So who ever he is got plastic surgery to look like him and the show confirmed they did get plastic surgery and that it is possible.

It was after the fire, she had already tried to drown herself. Red is most certainly is Katarina. Both Katarina and Red are both identified as N13 4. Red obviously cares deeply for Liz, but has very little concern for Jennifer. 5. Fake Katarina was looking for Katarina to stop Townsen from hunting her, after Dom dies, Dom tell her where Katarina is and fake Katarina says to Red "what I was looking for was right in front of me the whole time." as she glares at Red, 6. Kaplin says Little Nikko helped her after Annie was shot, and Red responds that Kate knows that he was "away." At that time in Kate's flashbacks, Katarina tells Kate she must go "away." Kate had not yet met Red. 7. Ivan and Ilya are both childhood/old friends of Red and of Katarina. 8. After Dom is shot by Paris Katarina, he apologize to Red not understanding him...which is what Katarina and Red says about their father. 9. We see Dom, Katarina's father, sentimentally attached to his Wagoneer. Red sentimentally describes how his dad drove a Wagoneer. Both Katarina's father and Red's father are shown to/described as liking peanuts, being authoritarian, and excommunicating their child 10. Both Red and Katarina say their dad didn't understand them, but their mother did. 11. There is a scene in season 3 where Red is looking out of the window at a child. In the season 8 final this same scene is done with Katarina. Red and Katarina are standing in the same spot, seeing the same thing, at the sane time. They were literally sharing a brain. 12. Both Red and Katarina said they were the one to have Liz's memories wiped. 13. Katarina is the only person presented in the story that isn't accounted for after the imposter gets the plastic surgery done. 14. One of the very first things that Red says to Liz is that everything about him was a lie. Taken literally that would include gender. 15. Both Katarina and Red were burned in the fire. The only people confirmed to be burned were Katarina and Liz. 16. It is said repeatedly that they aren't telling Liz what Red's identity is because she couldn't accept it. Who could make more sense then the loss of a mother she never knew? 17. Kate says she created Red because she wanted to look after Liz, but couldn't while hiding. Becoming Redington accomplishes that. If Red was someone other than Katarina then she is gone and not looking after Liz. 18. Kaplan tells Katarina that she will do what is best for Liz, years later Kaplan mentions how she said the same thing to Red "all those years ago" this is shown before betraying Red to help Liz. 19. Katarina's most obvious feature is her RED hair. People with RED hair are often called RED. It is not a coincidence that "Redington's" name is also shortened to RED. It is a literary device to connect the two characters. 20. The last time Katarina is ever seen is at the plastic surgeon before imposter Red gets surgery. This just scratches the surface of all the evidence that Red was Katarina, I could continue to go one for another 20. You have to have your head in the sand to not see that Red was Katarina and ignore that there is almost nothing pointing to anyone else being Red. If you can't follow the actual clues to his identity then you should at least be able to access it like a game of Clue. When you get to the end of the story who is the one person introduced to the story you never found out where they were? That is obviously Katarina. Your insane answer to that is to create people that never existed in the show. That's like playing clue and including a card that is a suspect there is no piece for and no players know exist. Also, Daniel Knauf was a staff writer for the show. A couple of days after the final he posted on Facebook that the writing staff were told that Red's true identity was Katarina way back in season 2. Christian Gee a writer and director posted on X that Red transitioned into Katarina, James Spader says on the season 4 DVD commentary that Red was Katarina.

The absence of the show presenting any evidence for any other theory is also rather resounding proof that it is Katarina. I really like the Imposter Reddington storyline (or rather the concept) because we never knew the original Reddington before the night of the fire. But the way how it was handled was terrible. They should have revealed who Red was a long time ago. Or should have never done it to begin with.

@@attheranch873 She says in the 8x20 that she was burned. The only reason to do that is to draw a parallel between Katarina and Red. I imagine it was a hard balance to make it seem like she was burned but also not give it away. So, they chose to show damage to her shirt but have her wear a shirt. Given all the other clues that she is Red, the lack of clues for anything else, and that there was verbal confirmation that she was burned in the fire the fact you didn't get visual confirmation is a rather moot point as the absence of visual confirmation isn't proof one-way-or-another. The proof that Red was Katerina is overwhelming.
Theres an episode where red is with Katarina at a beach house defending it against invaders red knows how it went down etc, we get to see the beach house later during the final seasons where it is shown clearly that Katarina was alone at that house defending herself against invaders so how could red know exactly what went down if he himself isnt Katarina?

So IRL you are not going to be able to change Lotte into James with plastic surgery. There are to many skeletal differences and build differences even with the best work. But for the sake of the fictional magnificant character of Raymond Reddington I just go with it. You could probably get away with someone who had a heavier set build passing the eye test as a man. But as is always pointed out genetic tests would be no y chromasome, issues with pelvis shape ect. If they were going to do it then they should have resolved it once genetic testing was involved. Who is Raymond Reddington was actually a fun mystery box though, and Raymond is entertaining to watch.
So to those who think James Spader’s character was a woman in disguise, how did she bang all those female lovers over the years Im so confused. Did she have a male double who would pretend to be her on the days she was supposed to have sex or what? An inflatable prosthetic? First it isn't uncommon for older men to be impotent and still have physical relationships with women. Also, the idea that someone who went through a phaloplasty can't have intercourse is incorrect without inflatable prosthetic is incorrect. Nope. Red can't be the real Red. And is NOT Liz father. . . The real Reddington was American. However it is clear this Reddington is Russian.. He says so in 9x06 to Agnes 'How did you know I was Russian?'. Also confirmed by the fact that this Red and Ilya have been friends since they were little kids.

He can't be the father. Besides all the evidence that he died and everything Red went through to hide the fact he was an imposter there is a ton of other evidence as well. His devotion to Jennifer was no where near that of Liz, the real Redington knew where the fulcrum was but Red did not, Red had Liz's memory erased to cover up his own death, Red shows several times he grew up in Russia but Redington did not, he has conversations with Dembe and Dom about him being an imposter, he tells Liz he is not her father (which is suppose to be the source of reliable information), someone got plastic surgery to become Redington if Red is Redington where did the person with plastic surgery go? I imagine there are many things I am not even thinking of. They beat to death that Red is an imposter though. Outside of what happened in the show, it's creator also confirmed that the real Redington was dead after the season 5 final in several interviews.
All are wrong. No one knows who Raymond Reddington if they have not watched the episodes over and over again. There are clues as to the identity of Raymond or whatever his real name is. We know that Red is most likely Dom's son. He is Katarina's brother, or a close relative. He is part of a large Russian family who were spies while Raymond chose a life of crime. The real Raymond is dead, the one who impregnated Katarina to bring us Elizabeth. With Katarina on the run or possibly dead, Raymond was watching over Liz as a father. Alexander Kirk is also family. From those episodes, we know the males in the family inherit a life-threatening disease. Red's disease may have been stalled due to medication. As for the clues, watch all the episodes, especially the one with Smokey being dragged to court by Red and Liz. There is one very quick statement Red makes that ties him to Don. I bet no one noticed. Also, in Leonard Caul's episode, did you see something interesting in Red's apartment? No? Another clue. I may be wrong as this is my best guess. I don't know how good the writers are, hopefully they can tie all things together, but what if Red just rides off into the sunset telling nothing and leaving us wondering? With Liz leaving the show, it messed up the story line.

The lady said that she knew what happened on the day of the fire and red said the other do too and kills her. I am not sure what that means. I think they should have given more time and properly indicated that he died by fighting the bull or maybe his face was so deformed that they could not figure out if it was Red or not. i think the ending was rushed. But to me its clear that Red was Katarina. I do not like it though. After a couple of days of being shocked, I am coming to peace with the end. I think ending a show takes a lot from writers and House was a perfect ending. In any show that has the main character as bad guys unfortunately can not end with a happy ending. You see in Liz Death Memories and again in the last season she is saved by Katerina aka Redddington. If you see the episode when they are in the park and Liz agrees to kill him, she shows the picture and asks if he made it, he did not answear than Liz said "You were there?" and he said Yes. In the picture there are 2 people: Liz and Katerina :)

In the episode he says : I KNOW HOW FAR A PARENT WOULD GO TO PROTECT THEIR CHILD , he says this why he is telling the truth about Siya past and real identity , and he says this sentence while he is talking about Siya’s mother that would do everything to protect his child and Reddington has the regrets of not telling the truth to Elizabeth that’s why he tells entirely the truth to Siya. Red is not Redington. That has been confirmed multiple times over in the show and was actually confirmed that the bones where the real Redington by the show creator. 8x21 makes it rather clear that the only people to be burned in the house fire were Katarina and Liz, no one else has ever been confirmed to have been burned. It also makes no sense for Red to pretend to be a fake version of Redington and then do everything he can to keep anyone from knowing he is an imposter. It is a completely nonsensical conclusion.

For me I loved the grand master 10,000 piece jigsaw puzzle and all the breadcrumbs left behind for the FBI, his beloved teammates, and ultimately to us, the end viewers. The biggest impact on me was the brutal honesty that a certain Fallen Angel #jamesspader has clearly mastered, #RaymondReddington Lies told more Truth than most people could believe or handle. The Devil convinced people that He doesn't exist... - Did #RaymondReddington orchestrate Dembe's rescue JUST to eliminate the Congressman from persecuting the Team in their future thereby creating a final gift and farewell? - Red is the ultimate blend of the Man from LaMancha plus the Screwtape Letters and the #blacklist is PhD level Game Theory personified
There are clues from other earlier episodes pointed out by others...This one for me is convincing...Season 4, ep 8...watch towards the end ... listen closely to the conversation between Kirk and Red...31.20 to 38.30...and as Red leans over to whisper in Kirks ear...the only possible reason Kirk pulls that needle out...and his dumbfounded reaction

But in the last episode, the "bull" being symbolic of the patriarchy or "man's world" if you were, was the force that finally took the Consigor's of Crime life. But Reddington chose to let the bull and its horns end it all, rather than waste away from the cancer or disease. You gotta look for symbolism in your stories. Raymond Reddington is either gay or a bio-woman, Dembay and reddington never had dates with women or girlfriends/wifes through out the whole seasons, all others in the show for the most part had or have love interest's except Dembay and reddington, and all of reds female interests are often daughter, mother sister types, so he's most definitely into something else.

We don't have our answers as yet. It's no short story that has the scope of such an ending, leaving it to the readers or audience or viewers for speculation. The 10th Season storytelling was marvellous, I thought, and the series got its tempo back. The momentum was picking up. What an anti-climax! It's really irritating, annoying and frustrating. We know she went by the name Anna Croft for a while, but after she left her mother in Virginia we don't know what happened until she ends up at the plastic surgeon. Yes, I determined that he was always the real Raymond Reddington because given the character's resources he could have had his DNA swapped in the federal database! And yes, right before Liz Keen's death where he told her that if he told her his true identity she definitely would not go through with shooting him in the final scene of season 8! There was also several clues given away like the burns on Reds back.....etc...
Red is not Redington. That has been confirmed multiple times over in the show and was actually confirmed that the bones where the real Redington by the show creator. 8x21 makes it rather clear that the only people to be burned in the house fire were Katarina and Liz, no one else has ever been confirmed to have been burned. It also makes no sense for Red to pretend to be a fake version of Redington and then do everything he can to keep anyone from knowing he is an imposter. It is a completely nonsensical conclusion. The show is over you also can't just insert your own story that " he could have had his DNA swapped " which is in no way alluded to by the show, it is one thing to suggest something like that could have been revealed in the future but now the show is over and you aren't talking possibilities but rather have to use the facts from the show (and staff accounts). Those facts overwhelmingly lead to Red being an imposter and that imposter being Katarina. It has also been confirmed by one of the show writers that the show creators told the newly hired writing staff that Red had been Katarina.

That is crazy.
1. Red could not have been both Liz's Uncle and Katarina's cousin and Dom's his uncle. He would of somehow had to been a brother of the real Red, who is never said to have had a brother (as Katarina had no brother so couldn't be a brother of hers), would also have to be the son of a sister of Dom that is never referenced in the show. The imposter Red would have to had been related to both Katarina and the real Red. Dom's sister's son would not be an uncle, but rather a cousin once removed. It is beyond any stretch of reasonableness to think someone that distantly related would change their whole identity, even if such a person was ever to be introduced to the show which they weren't.

The clues where all there, and you had to listen carefully to the dialogue and visual clues. I really had to go back to some previous episodes to strengthen my belief. Red is actually Liz's mother...the last clue is dropped when he made that last phone call to Agnes...after giving her advice how to deal with boys, Agnes says "Pinky, you're being such a mom" and Red responds "yeah...I guess I just can't help it"... Red values telling the truth...he Never really admitted being her father...so he never lied to her

the director (Christine Gee) said a couple of months ago that there "would be an exchange in the final episode that will say it indirectly." So when Agnes said that and Red replied, "Yeah, I guess I just can't help it." THAT was the exchange. That exchange, with the director comments, with all the hints and clues and evidence sprinkled throughout the series confirmed it. He (she) was Elizabeth's mom
This show could have been the best show ever made except for the huge plot hole where the Elizabeth Keen character is constantly betraying the 'hero' of the show which of course is Reddington. No matter how many times he sacrifices himself to save her or wades through bullets to get her to safety she turns on him for the dumbest reasons possible.
James Spader carried this show as we all know with his portrayal of Raymond Reddington but the lazy writing and plot points concerning him being betrayed for ridiculous reasons are really standing out as well seeing as I am binge watching this show right now.
I don't think this show could be remade seeing as the performance Mr. Spader laid out for Reddington but it would have been nice to see him battling wits with master criminals and at the same time getting the loyalty and admiration deserved for his heroic actions.
Even with these massive problems the show is still awesome. Who knows maybe we might get a couple extra episodes to give us some explanation of who and why Reddington cared so much or to clear up who he actually was.
At this point though does it really matter after we have seen him literally wade through a wall of bullets with a look on his face that says the Grim Reaper is really his father? Cudos to James Spader for this performance. This show will always be on my binge list.

Season 1 episode 15. Almost to the end Red goes to see one of his old navy grad classmates and he recognizes him. So if the theory that he is Katerina did she get surgery to look exactly like him. Or did he actually survive and those bones are the real Katerina?
The bones were confirmed to be the real Redington. This is confirmed in the show and by the show creator. The real Redington is dead this was confirmed many times over, the show could not be more clear that the real Redington was dead and Red is an imposter. So who ever he is got plastic surgery to look like him and the show confirmed they did get plastic surgery and that it is possible.
Reddington basically revealed that he was Katerina Rostova in the ending part of season eight. If you listen and watch carefully you’ll get it.

Illya was not her cousin. He was katarina's lover at one point. They are just old childhood friends, Katarina and Red both address Illya as their oldest dearest friend.
Illya also isn't Red. Older Illya is shown in later season talking to Red. That was even in this video.
They weren't talking about the real Red at that time the real Red was already dead. It was after the fire, she had already tried to drown herself.
Red is most certainly is Katarina. I know this won't make much sense to you because you haven't followed the show well and make up things, while ignoring anything you don't like, but the evidence that Red was Katarina is extensive and there is NO evidence of anyone else.
1.Kaplan said she put Liz in Red's arms 30 years ago (liz would have been a baby), but we see Kaplan and "Red" meet the first time and Liz was already 10. The only person we see Kaplan put Liz in their arms is Katarina.
2. Red tells Constantin Liz's is his daughter, (under truth serum), we later find out her father is dead.
3. Both Katarina and Red are both identified as N13
4. Red obviously cares deeply for Liz, but has very little concern for Jennifer.
5. Fake Katarina was looking for Katarina to stop Townsen from hunting her, after Dom dies, Dom tell her where Katarina is and fake Katarina says to Red "what I was looking for was right in front of me the whole time." as she glares at Red,
6. Kaplin says Little Nikko helped her after Annie was shot, and Red responds that Kate knows that he was "away." At that time in Kate's flashbacks, Katarina tells Kate she must go "away." Kate had not yet met Red.
7. Ivan and Ilya are both childhood/old friends of Red and of Katarina.
8. After Dom is shot by Paris Katarina, he apologize to Red not understanding him...which is what Katarina and Red says about their father.
9. We see Dom, Katarina's father, sentimentally attached to his Wagoneer. Red sentimentally describes how his dad drove a Wagoneer. Both Katarina's father and Red's father are shown to/described as liking peanuts, being authoritarian, and excommunicating their child
10. Both Red and Katarina say their dad didn't understand them, but their mother did.
11. There is a scene in season 3 where Red is looking out of the window at a child. In the season 8 final this same scene is done with Katarina. Red and Katarina are standing in the same spot, seeing the same thing, at the sane time. They were literally sharing a brain.
12. Both Red and Katarina said they were the one to have Liz's memories wiped.
13. Katarina is the only person presented in the story that isn't accounted for after the imposter gets the plastic surgery done.
14. One of the very first things that Red says to Liz is that everything about him was a lie. Taken literally that would include gender.
15. Both Katarina and Red were burned in the fire. The only people confirmed to be burned were Katarina and Liz.
16. It is said repeatedly that they aren't telling Liz what Red's identity is because she couldn't accept it. Who could make more sense then the loss of a mother she never knew?
17. Kate says she created Red because she wanted to look after Liz, but couldn't while hiding. Becoming Redington accomplishes that. If Red was someone other than Katarina then she is gone and not looking after Liz.
18. Kaplan tells Katarina that she will do what is best for Liz, years later Kaplan mentions how she said the same thing to Red "all those years ago" this is shown before betraying Red to help Liz.
19. Katarina's most obvious feature is her RED hair. People with RED hair are often called RED. It is not a coincidence that "Redington's" name is also shortened to RED. It is a literary device to connect the two characters.
20. The last time Katarina is ever seen is at the plastic surgeon before imposter Red gets surgery.
This just scratches the surface of all the evidence that Red was Katarina, I could continue to go one for another 20. You have to have your head in the sand to not see that Red was Katarina and ignore that there is almost nothing pointing to anyone else being Red. If you can't follow the actual clues to his identity then you should at least be able to access it like a game of Clue. When you get to the end of the story who is the one person introduced to the story you never found out where they were? That is obviously Katarina. Your insane answer to that is to create people that never existed in the show. That's like playing clue and including a card that is a suspect there is no piece for and no players know exist.
Also, Daniel Knauf was a staff writer for the show. A couple of days after the final he posted on Facebook that the writing staff were told that Red's true identity was Katarina way back in season 2. Christian Gee a writer and director posted on X that Red transitioned into Katarina, James Spader says on the season 4 DVD commentary that Red was Katarina.

My rebuttal, can you point out anything from the show that suggests Red was anyone other than Katarina? The absence of the show presenting any evidence for any other theory is also rather resounding proof that it is Katarina. There is no rational reason to present evidence that supports only ONE possible answer to Red's identity other than it being the ONE possible answer.
I really like the Imposter Reddington storyline (or rather the concept) because we never knew the original Reddington before the night of the fire. But the way how it was handled was terrible. They should have revealed who Red was a long time ago.

I imagine it was a hard balance to make it seem like she was burned but also not give it away. So, they chose to show damage to her shirt but have her wear a shirt. Given all the other clues that she is Red, the lack of clues for anything else, and that there was verbal confirmation that she was burned in the fire the fact you didn't get visual confirmation is a rather moot point as the absence of visual confirmation isn't proof one-way-or-another. The proof that Red was Katerina is overwhelming.

From those episodes, we know the males in the family inherit a life-threatening disease. Red's disease may have been stalled due to medication. As for the clues, watch all the episodes, especially the one with Smokey being dragged to court by Red and Liz. There is one very quick statement Red makes that ties him to Don. I bet no one noticed. Also, in Leonard Caul's episode, did you see something interesting in Red's apartment? No? Another clue. I may be wrong as this is my best guess. I don't know how good the writers are, hopefully they can tie all things together, but what if Red just rides off into the sunset telling nothing and leaving us wondering? With Liz leaving the show, it messed up the story line.

You see in Liz Death Memories and again in the last season she is saved by Katerina aka Redddington. If you see the episode when they are in the park and Liz agrees to kill him, she shows the picture and asks if he made it, he did not answear than Liz said "You were there?" and he said Yes. That has been confirmed multiple times over in the show and was actually confirmed that the bones where the real Redington by the show creator. 8x21 makes it rather clear that the only people to be burned in the house fire were Katarina and Liz, no one else has ever been confirmed to have been burned. It also makes no sense for Red to pretend to be a fake version of Redington and then do everything he can to keep anyone from knowing he is an imposter. It is a completely nonsensical conclusion.

Yes, I determined that he was always the real Raymond Reddington because given the character's resources he could have had his DNA swapped in the federal database! And yes, right before Liz Keen's death where he told her that if he told her his true identity she definitely would not go through with shooting him in the final scene of season 8! There was also several clues given away like the burns on Reds back.....etc...
Red is not Redington. That has been confirmed multiple times over in the show and was actually confirmed that the bones where the real Redington by the show creator. 8x21 makes it rather clear that the only people to be burned in the house fire were Katarina and Liz, no one else has ever been confirmed to have been burned. It also makes no sense for Red to pretend to be a fake version of Redington and then do everything he can to keep anyone from knowing he is an imposter. It is a completely nonsensical conclusion.
The show is over you also can't just insert your own story that " he could have had his DNA swapped " which is in no way alluded to by the show, it is one thing to suggest something like that could have been revealed in the future but now the show is over and you aren't talking possibilities but rather have to use the facts from the show (and staff accounts). Those facts overwhelmingly lead to Red being an imposter and that imposter being Katarina. It has also been confirmed by one of the show writers that the show creators told the newly hired writing staff that Red had been Katarina.
