Thank you for the civil, critically thought out response, Laerrus. I prayed from about 5 through 13 years of age for the domestic violence in my home to stop somehow. I also prayed vehemently for my mother to be shown mercy from god during her terminal illness. I gave my heart and soul to god during this time, as well as when I was a child. no response, no surprise, mother's dead at 56. There are tens of millions with my same sad story, Laerrus. Reason enough to turn my back on any god.
Now I know why this is my favorite show on the idiot box...I Iove to watch this family, great characters, no cursing, clean family show..and so naturally funny, and laughter doeth good like a medicine....God bless them all...
I believe in God , His Son Jesus, and The Holy Spirit! Yearning to get to knoe Him better! Awesome Duck Commander for stnding up for what you believe in!!! Love God 1st!!!
Judge not lest ye be judged... I LOVE DD more than ever. One of very few "clean" shows we have the opportunity to watch. We LOVE how the show always ends in a "message" of sorts. People can call it fake if they so choose - that is all of our rights as AMERICANS to speak our opinions. After all - this is a "reality" show. But who can deny the binding of family that they share with us? What a better world if more families were so close & loving? A choice also. Praise God & the USA! *PHIL for Pres!
I love this man and his family. So refreshing to speak of God and our history while so many others disregard it as nothing more than silly historic rhetoric. For all those non believers God is what this great nation America was founded on, you can't hide from it, you can't shove it under the rug, and you can't condem those that believe it as true. AMEN.
AMEN to that I pray every night for all of those that don't belivefor GOD to reach down and just gently rub their heart so that they will come to know him. And also to love him and thank him for every thing that this country and 1st off he has gave us.
I have been listening to Billy Graham videos... He talked about Christian persecution... which is happening every single day. No disrespect to Mr. Graham... but it sounds like the Duck Commander is the closest thing we have now to BG... what a amazing inspiration.
Due to his being in Hollywood/weird, out in the front lines, Father give him a 100 fold blessing, to extend the Kingdom and to bring glory to your Name.
Then again, to stand firmly on any belief takes a measure of faith. Again, we’ll find out. And interestingly, one of us will truly stand in disbelief as to our own prior beliefs.
Look, I'm not going to argue with you. I respect your opinion. We as Christians don't have all of the answers. It is becoming more and more popular to point this fact out and to persecute our beliefs, while at the same time we are told to be tolerant and respectful of others'. People are always going to attack Christianity, that's just the way it is. God bless, and I hope you do give God a chance at some point
As much as I love Phil and the rest of those guys, and despite the downvotes I'm gonna get, I've gotta poke some holes in this. I am a Christian first off. However, I'm also a graduate of the University of Georgia with a degree in History with a focus on American History. The Founding Fathers referenced God often, but few were actually Christians. Most were deists. The one thing I definitely disagreed with was that you can't be a non-Christian patriot. Plenty of soldiers with other religions.
Phil should look into how yankee religious views played a large role in the invasion and utter destruction of the South by the North. Views similar to those held by John Adams.
And of course, while editing, I muddle a sentence. That was supposed to read "...and stop believing text books written by more recent biased writers...".
The quote about forgetting god and tyrants forging chains is from Patrick Henry. The last quote by Adams about the ten commandments and the sermon on the mount containing his religion speaks more to Adam's disgust with Christianity, and his desire that it be fixed before it is further promoted. It also speaks to Adams being a deist as those to passages from/parts of the bible eschew the supernatural and promoter rational, moral behaviour.
I am a believer of Jesus Christ, I'm not "religious", but I am respectful of others' beliefs. I believe God gave us free will to choose to believe or not. I just people would respects each other and stop the name calling. Christians we shouldn't Be telling people that they are going to hell, you should spread the Word of Salvation and if they chose not to believe then leave at that. We are not to judge unbelievers but to love and pray for them.
The 14 Presidents you are talking about was no more than what we would call a state governor today. They was given the title of President as they thought it would give them more power when having communication with the King of England. George Washington was the first elected President of the United States of America, Not as a state or colonies. He was President during April 30, 1789- March 4, 1797.
Those of you who dont belive on christ I feel sorry for your poor soul. I have felt the almighty power of god and it is the best feeling in the world. I want to know (for those of you who dont belive) where do you think your soul will go to when your body is worn out and your heart stops beating. Think about it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Despite all that, my main argument was that he's dead wrong when he says it's impossible to be a non-Christian and a patriot. I have a Muslim friend in the Navy, and an atheist friend in the Marines who would both strongly disagree as well. This country was meant to be a place of tolerance, acceptance, and diversity. The fact that we're still persecuting religious minorities in 2013 is ridiculous.
people to hell. I have substantial Southern roots in North Carolina along the Cape Fear River and will put my family's sacrifice for the South up against anyones. My family fought in the Revolution, 1812, and in Lincoln's aggression. Therefore, I am a lover of freedom not a lover of the shackles of any institution, especially two as historically mean spirited and hateful as the government of the US & christianity of any stripe. A true Southern man loves freedom like Thos. Jefferson, no christian
Some of the founders were not Christian. Many were though. Even the ones who were not were raised in Christian homes and reaped the benefits of biblical teaching. But it was the Bible and the influence therein and the reformers Biblical teaching and God himself, that we owe our nation we now enjoy, work, and live.
This is truly disappointing to me as a person with substantial Southern sympathies. My family goes back to the 1700's on the Cape Fear and had hundreds fight and die for the Confederacy. To me, a Southern man is a freedom lover above all else. Not a lover of religion ,country, government, or other men, but a lover of individual freedom. As an Atheist who loves the South and its people and heritage, this is disappointing in the extreme.
As for emptiness, your belief or lack thereof isn't what suggests its presence. Instead, it is the multitude of postings I read throughout this thread. Fullness of joy doesn't usually result in declarations of "F..." this and "F..." that, nor does it usually accompany a constant barrage of judgemental expressions directed at those who merely note approval for this video's message. And note, none of my reponses to you have been malicious, cruel or even judgemental. If so, I do appologize.
This gets to part of the reason I find religion to be not only untrue, but deeply offensive to any genuine sense of human persons as moral agents. The two major monotheistic religions in the world theologize humanity to be either "sheep" (Christianity) or "slaves" (Islam). I've even heard Christians refer to themselves as "slaves of Christ," though certainly Jesus didn't think of his followers in that way. He called them his friends and brothers. But I refuse to be either a sheep or a slave.
True Christians don't view ourselves as "righteous", but quite the opposite. We know we are unrighteous, just like a non- Christian. The only difference is that we are forgiven.
I find it interesting that some people think it is unacceptable to call something wrong or horrible. It is very funny when you think about it. In other words they call someone horrible for calling others horrible. There my friend is the definition of hypocrisy. The founding fathers were Christians, If you follow what they taught you follow Christ. If you dont follow Christ you dont follow what they taught. You can love your country, but you cant say you're devoted to principles it was founded on
The most important figures from that period of history were deists. Contemporary history is a far more trustworthy tool than old works. They are far less biased and have been researched thoroughly, citing even the works which you reference. Historical works are not taken seriously at all unless the source material is legitimate. I've done plenty of historical research (granted, mostly in WWII-era history), but I promise: I might not know much about many things, but this is one subject I know.
no you people think for some strange reason that we want to hear your opinion, if you don't like something just don't watch it simple as that, go find something you like and comment on a show or video that you like.
"The Bible is not my book, nor Christianity my profession." - Abraham Lincoln "Religious bondage shackles and debilitates the mind and unfits it for every noble enterprise." - James Madison "This would be the best of all possible worlds, if there were no religion in it." - John Adams "The way to see by Faith is to shut the eye of Reason." - Benjamin Franklin "I am no Christian" - Ethan Allen "Revealed religion has no weight with me." - Benjamin Franklin "To Follow by faith alone is to follow blindly." - Benjamin Franklin "I have found Christian dogma unintelligible. Early in life I absented myself from Christian assemblies." - Benjamin Franklin "All national institutions of churches, whether Jewish, Christian or Turkish, appear to me no other than human inventions, set up to terrify and enslave mankind, and monopolize power and profit." - Thomas Paine "We discover in the gospels a groundwork of vulgar ignorance, of things impossible, of superstition, fanaticism and fabrication ." - Thomas Jefferson
Most countries wouldn't be shouting the rooftops about being independent from what was once the most powerful nation in the world, over taxes. Look at how hypocritical you look now having that buffoon run your nations and tax you like crazy. US is young, lots to learn. I support Christianity as much as I support change, as much as I like Phil it's obvious he can't stand change.
I haven't heard preaching like this in a very long time. It makes me feel good about this show. Duck Dynasty is the best show ever.
Thank you for the civil, critically thought out response, Laerrus. I prayed from about 5 through 13 years of age for the domestic violence in my home to stop somehow. This man tells it like it is!!! I'm with you Phil....ALL THE WAY!!! God bless you, Ms. Kay and your family.
I believe in God , His Son Jesus, and The Holy Spirit! Yearning to get to knoe Him better! Awesome Duck Commander for stnding up for what you believe in!!! Love God 1st!!!
Amen, don't let nobody lie 2 ya, we are and began as a Christian nation! Preach on Phil! We luv u brother!
And I also respect Phil for the loving family that he appears to have brought forth. As well as his knowledge and work ethic.
With the exciption of their superstitious beliefs, I think this family is lovely and extremely hilarious. Especially Si. Jack!
Love the show and love that the Robertson's are ambassadors for Christ!!
My hand to the good lord above...I wish you were our president Mr. Phil. Thank you sir.
i like when they pray @ jeffery miller , reminds me growing up praying and thanking god for our meals..
This is the kind of leadership we need in this country!

I agree 100%, as Americans it should be all of our attitude! No wonder we are in financial ruins, thanks to the city people
one of my most favorite pictures is a man of god knelling next to his horse prayin where have they all gone
AMEN to that I pray every night for all of those that don't belivefor GOD to reach down and just gently rub their heart so that they will come to know him. And also to love him and thank him for every thing that this country and 1st off he has gave us.

hallelujah!!!!Amen!!!Preach it Bro.Phil
Yes---those small variations add up, and over millions of years result in massive changes. God is the cause, evolution the process.
.... and why isnt this man running for president? Cause I WOULD VOTE FOR HIM IN A HEART BEAT.
Due to his being in Hollywood/weird, out in the front lines, Father give him a 100 fold blessing, to extend the Kingdom and to bring glory to your Name.
yes, i would love to hear you "quote a FEW scriptures"!!
you rock phil robertson!!! preach on and march fourth amen!!!!
Hooray for Phil Robertson. An American Patriot.
I pray for GOD'S blessings on this family!
Just because I can relate to him. Honesty, hard-work, & God & family over everthing. Just my opinion brother
IT IS REFRESHING TO SEE PEOPLE IN THE ENTERTAINMENT INDUSTRY THAT KNOW AND HONOR GOD, ESPECIALLY IN THE WORLD WE LIVE IN TODAY.
Knowledge in his chosen field of work, that is.
I have read enough to believe that both were divinely inspired, but the difference is in whom I proclaim to be the true one.
People should be laughed out of the room when they talk about invisible friends...
LOVE THIS SHOW A VERY GOOD CHRISTIAN SHOW
That's not empty speculation, it's a well accepted interpretation of the material.
Anyway, love those guys and God as well. Just had to get that off my chest.
I thank the Robertsons for publically honoring Christ, and God, with their family meal prayers at the end of each episode. :)
God Bless you sir
I honestly wish Phil would run for president.
Amen Phil. Amen.
Like most people that get involved with Hollywood, he is starting to admire his self importance.
I love this family
Then again, to stand firmly on any belief takes a measure of faith. Again, we’ll find out. And interestingly, one of us will truly stand in disbelief as to our own prior beliefs.
I like the show better all the time. Rock on Phil!
jc? I happen to love the show. I also have not done what you said I have. Either quote where I have been "obscene and profane", or apologize. Thanks.
Look, I'm not going to argue with you. I respect your opinion. We as Christians don't have all of the answers. Preach it, Phil!
Well done.
I have no response to this as it is just gobbledygook. I respect that we differ and will leave it at that.
wonder where and when he was in oklahoma,,,
God answers ALL prayers. Sometimes, for whatever reason, the answer is "No."
God blesses obedience!
Additionally, how has your mythical deity been "kicked out of our nation", valeo? I just cannot WAIT for your answer. ;)
Amen, Brother Phil! Too bad most are now listening & believing the LIAR!
Phil should look into how yankee religious views played a large role in the invasion and utter destruction of the South by the North. Views similar to those held by John Adams.
Your a smart woman.
How can someone book him to speak for a men's breakfast event?
You don't disdain your God, boy. That's what a fool does! A fool, I tell you.
Nah. In order for that to happen he/she would have to be real.
But whatever. I love Duck Dynasty and I especially enjoy Si, jack! :D
You must be a fan, lol. O_o
And of course, while editing, I muddle a sentence. That was supposed to read "...and stop believing text books written by more recent biased writers...".
Phil Robertson for president!! Move the whole damn family into the white house pronto!... JACK!.
Hosea 13;4 Yet I am the Lord,Thy God from the land of Eqypt ,and thou shalt know no God but me, for there is no saviour beside me.

hahaha, all bad. I'm one of the 60's cats, yea!!
Like I have always tried to tell non belivers ain't it better to belive than not!!
I am a believer of Jesus Christ, I'm not "religious", but I am respectful of others' beliefs. I believe God gave us free will to choose to believe or not. Phil for president 2016!
because the separation of church of state, also our undecided religion definitely makes us a christan nation.
Despite all that, my main argument was that he's dead wrong when he says it's impossible to be a non-Christian and a patriot. I wish Phil was my grandpa
Just a suggestion...Why not try putting your fear aside and giving prayer a shot? You might be surprised.
LOL, ok. ???? Calm down, no one's going to take away your reality tv show, pal. ;)

actually Duck Commander, there were 14 presidents before George Washington.
i agree. all or nothing. the bible is all right or wrong. it is for all of us to decide. freedom to decide, GOD gave us free will.... I BELIEVE !!!
valeodude? Are you familiar with a gentleman by the name of Thomas Jefferson? Thomas Paine? Bueller?
Some of the founders were not Christian. Many were though. Even the ones who were not were raised in Christian homes and reaped the benefits of biblical teaching. Duck Commander? I love your show and think Kay's as cute as a speckled pup, but before you go off the delusion wagon: Thomas Paine. :)

self righteous indignation is truly a disgusting thing to witness

yep, we wont miss you either
Go Phil Robertson!
You can't be serious?....are you? lol
