Considering you have driven so many vehicles Topher, I will take it that you were pleasantly impressed by the Rogue. That's good enough for me. A nice all around vehicle for the real world and the odd trail.
From my experience, the only thing a CVT needs is frequent oil changes, if you drive it hard. Otherwise over a hundred thousand miles is generally possible. Depends on the drivers learning curve.
@@paultruesdale7680 Well if you are willing to buy that thing and expect 100k miles I guess you are it's target audience. I personally wouldn't take a "generally possible" to get me over 100k miles. Still it shouldn't be marketed as "offroad". You know someone will inevitably try and rock crawl with it and blow of the trans and then blame the CVT. Thus the negative opinion cycle of CVT continues. Don't get me wrong I love the concept of a CVT but the current implementations of it are god awful and just frankly unreliable.
Thanks to computer brake locking systems, lots of vehicles are now able to go far deeper than previously possible without transfer cases, 4WD low, proper tires and lockers. The hardest part for me, is the sticker is the same now, without all the mechanicals. All the TH-camrs spending a day or a few weeks then they give them back to the manufacturer so we don’t see the real wear and tear after all that activity off road.
I don’t want to always be a naysayer, but honestly these trails look hardly any worse than the mountain road I drove in South Dakota in a Toyota Sienna. Apart from the rock that they had you climb, I can’t really think of any modern car that would struggle with this course.
As an owner of a 2023 murano sl, I still don’t have faith to do off-roading by its cvt even tho I got the VQ 3.5 engine. To be honest, the VQ engine is a true legend, however, its potential gets limited by CVT. I know nothing is perfect, plus, I prefer the look of a murano better than pathfinder. So, if Nissan changes his mind, that they will bring the VQ engine back while using the 10 speed or 9 speed transmission on the next 2025 murano, man! How sweet that dream can be!
Off roading aside, Nissan’s CVTs are why I’ve shied away from getting a Maxima, it’s a dope car from the looks of it but the transmission has kept me away
My fellow Genx'ers remember when Nissan (and Datsun) was at the top of their game. The Maxima, aka 4DSC (four door sports car), the OG 300zx, the Xterra (which are still around here in SB with 300k on the odo), the OG Pathfinder, etc. What happens when greed and hubris get in the way of building a quality product. EV's didn't help things. I guess that's the automobile industry today, i.e.: Stellantis.

What do you think @TheTopher is easier to drive for new drivers, for those who just got their license, and have control over the car and be safe overall, SUVs or Sedans?
With the roads so full of crossovers and SUVs I would recommend something higher than a sedan, otherwise there’s nothing wrong with either, depends what you need it to do.
@@paultruesdale7680 well Im just a new driver and people here in the middle east dont exactly follow the rules of the road properly so Im just asking so I have control over the steering and dont accidentally hit someone with the seven seater I have especially when changing lanes😅
Choose a crossover with a low center of gravity, good driver assist technology and check the IIHS crash data on TH-cam. Not sure if it’s law in your country, but always wear your seat belt, get plenty of practice when traffic is at its lightest and best of luck. 👍
This vehicle is not for off-road. It's for unpaved back roads at best. No person who knows about off-roading would take an AWD or CVT vehicle off-roading. That vehicle is just for looks, I won't buy it for off-roading.
Honda may buy a share of the company I read. But yes they will file for bankruptcy if they don't turn it around. I think it will be a good thing . Nissan will be forced to fix their product portfolio and hopefully go back to their roots (if that's even possible at this point).
They should've branded this the Off-Rogue
So many mall parking lot curbs to be hopped in this thing
and cars to be sideswiped in the walmart parking lot
Babymamas gonna lose the front bumpers within a month of owning this
@ a month is a stretch
Obligatory "like 90% of off-road spec vehicles anyway."
I got mine last month and it’s awesome and I highly recommend it for anyone who’s having a hard time deciding, this is a great car!

Have fun when the cvt can't handle offroading anymore and destroys itself

Not on those crests, The Rogue is the definition of a crossover. same for the Cross trek

give me that 3 cylinder in a versa with a manual trans

dont' forget the little sentras
@will5150 or the Stanza.
why does its chime remind me of the 400z
Aside from the tires, isn't this mostly just an appearance package?

@Articite1 yeah, so no real upgrades apart from the tires and tech.
A show of hands for anyone thats stopped too hard in a rogue and had it SLIDE (the suspension geometry is that of a SENTRA) 😂😂😂😂
ABS won’t allow it to slide.
Explain your point.

Not for specific off roading.
Just leaving the highway without damaging anything and following fire roads and forest trails.
What’s going to fail first? the CVT or the Engine? 😅
Neither if you actually maintain you vehicle.
That’s the thing, most people don’t maintain the CVT’s. The engines are a hit or miss in these.
Both are pretty bad considering nissan build and manufacturing quality
engine. work at a nissan dealership. Dude came in with 10k on a 2023 rogue. Copper in the oil pan. The 3 cylinders are way overworked.
I’d say the “trans”- mission😂
Yep
interior feels like something from 2017
Muxh modern and efficient than today’s tv screen monitors car.
@ i do somewhat agree. But it still feels old
has everything it needs without needing a bunch of big ugly screens so it’s good enough for me
iPad baby
That's a good thing. Nissan's interiors are very functional
IDK, for the money: Maverick Tremor is a much better option.
Different kind of vehicle really, though there are similarities.
My only concern is the complexity of the engine.
Didn't someone say Nissan has 12-14 months before they go bankrupt lol
Yea. I read that too.
Scotty

I see their CFO resigned. Always a great sign.
TheStreet and Forbes has articles pertaining to this issue. I tried posting but it didn't go through.
Dude the automotive industry is a joke
Just figuring that out?
This thing looks like a hard pass.
Lol this POS costs 35k and for 36k I have offers for a New 2024 Mazda cx-90 lol
@ way more car and luxury for that money. Love Mazda!
Dude I first read the title and missed the word ''rock'' I thought you were making fun of the plastic interior creeking.
If you think the creeking is bad here watch a POV drive of literally any Rivian product. You'll be floored.
Automatic off roader, no wonder Nissan is going out of business
@@Ok_Mountain_8698 it really isn't an off roader, lets be real.
You call that off-road ?
Lost me at "nissan" "3 cylinder" and "CVT"
I’ll
But 1.5L - seriously? I think 2.0 must be minimum for mid-size SUV
2 years using 1.5 L. They did good job so far. No complaints until today
The RAV4 using a 2.5L
Take a $23k hatchback.
Lift.
Off-road lipstick.
Now $36k.
Profit?
Agreed, 36 is a bit steep. Nice looking vehicle though.
