Thank you for your comment. I call it my "Montana Special" :) I purchased it from O'Gorman Enterprises in Broadus, Montana. They carry allot of different lures, scents etc. I've found that wolves are all different just as humans are. I use allot of different scents and lures including skunk essence to attract wolves. I sometimes simply use dry or wet dog or cat food and it works. It all depends on the wolf. I also use real wolf urine around my trap sites making pee posts.
Yes. Some trappers say that a dirt hole won't work with a snare but I can tell you it does. March to your own "drummer" and try anything that is legal. Sorry for the late reply as I am at my remote mountain cabin a great deal of the time.
If a wolf is caught around the neck in a snare, they die for lack of oxygen very quickly and humanely. Usually in about 60 seconds or less they become unconscious. There is always a risk of non target animals being caught in a snare. That is why I use diverters on my snares. The diverters push the snare out of the way for animals such as ungulates who are taller than wolves. I make every effort to set my snares where there are no domestic dogs that can be caught by mistake. So for the delay in responding as I am at my remote mountain cabin a good deal of the time.
If bullshit was music you would be a 1 man orchestra. I'm a 60 year veteran trapper only kill a snare makes instantly is a power ram verly if ever would a wool die in 60 seconds. Bullshit artist
I love an ol wolf trapper. Usually a smart man! Can teach many lessons! Thanks for the vids!
Do you have much luck on wolves, touching your snares/traps with the same gloves you touch your bait/lure/stinky stuff with?
Wow I didn’t think this would work! Do you get misses from the backing out? I’m definitely going to try it.
Keep posting your wolf vids and tips. Great info. Thanks!
Thank you for your comment. Please watch for more of my videos.

What kind of lure is that and why?😀🐺🐺
Thanks from Montana

Did you guys catch a wolf in a set like this? Never seen a snare on a dirt hole...

I'm not having a go, but why snares, is this not cruelty and is there a risk of animals being caught?
