Lil u did know he was actually onto sumthin school is not meant for us to be in there until 17/18 my parents are Colombian(includin myself🥱) but u know the funny thing about ofc lets say since I didnt get to study there & they did well id able to contrast the dif. So wht they said/told me was tht they did not jus know the times tables by the time they were in 3rd grade but they were already edgin into algebra blastin Imagin tht.. Evrythin weve been doctrinized into so called education its jus been a white lie.
She's really smart and funny! And her dad really looks like the kind of dad who genuinely wants his kids to be happy and is not afraid of breaking some parenting rules to help them out.
Mamet not only fully informed Zosia (who has her dad's wit) about acting ... but he educates the rest of us on the topic quite completely in his myriad writings about theatre. Thanks for posting this and giving Zosia time to speak. She's another tribute to The Mamet Wit. To get Mamet's well-developed stage perspective, start with "Three Uses of the Knife"...
Just like my parents. Education wasn't a high priority in our house. My dad couldn't understand why I'd try harder in order to get above the minimum passing grade. And my mom would try to get me to stay home with her every day so we could hang out (RIP mom, now I wish I had done so).
She's hilarious! She even told a joke they didn''t get. (Her little sister was the Golden Child because she dropped out).. I am going to remember this young wonam.. what pizazz...
I so appreciate when Dad says to his child yes instead of no, laugh instead of yell.. Parents have to not to put their kids in the cage. This is how most talents are made.
I starting watching The Flight Attendant because I had the hots for Kaley Cuoco & because I think she's a great actress, and now I think even more that she's a great actress, but the woman I now have the biggest crush on is Zosia Mamet!
If someone told me to guess the profession of a girl named Zosia who dropped out of high school, I'd wager, "Stripper." If someone told me to do the same for a girl named Zosia who dropped out of high school AND whose dad was a world-famous playwright, I'd say, unhesitatingly, "Actress."
That's my favorite quote in a David mamma interview was David said, but I tell actors is learn your lines called and when you're on stage get out of the way on the furniture, or worse than that effect and those aren't effective words. Now what's your situation is be aware of the situation don't ignore the pen that your character drops unless your character would ignore it, know your lines cold so you can react to what anyone else says because if they know their lines cold you're right you're reacting to the best thing possible
***** Not really, because the public isn't subjected to those people on a daily basis the way they are with celebrities. Nepotism throws alot of untalented people in our faces, when we could be getting better.
***** Now you're the one talking nonsense, comparing actors who succeed in Hollywood thanks to their connections with athletes who succeed in the sports world thanks to their own abilities. Connections...own abilities...do you not see the difference? And what I said holds true; actor celebrities who appear every minute in tabloids, tv, films, etc. are far more a part of our lives than someone who gets a job in big business thanks to his father, uncle, etc. Hence, for example, why subpar people like Rashida Jones (daughter of Quincy) and the Kardashians (daughters of the famous OJ attorney) are more a part of our lives than the son of Kraft industries.
thats the way to go, particularly if the child is intelligent, you dont want to waste their formative years in moronic groups filled with bullys and people that will only stall their development, and what is more important, you need to give the kid a chance to have their own ideas outside of peer pressure groups. If I ever have kids, Im open to proposals BTW, they're going to be home educated.
Mark Levin interviewed David Mamet on his FOX NEWS SHOW on 10 APRIL 2022. Mamet's new book is titled "Recessional: The Death of Free Speech and the cost of a Free Lunch."
she might have had more visibility because of her father, but she got the role because she's talented and perfectly suited to the role she was hired to play.
Oh I know, but Glengarry Glen Ross is often referred to as "Death of a Fucking Salesman"....if you haven't read Glengarry Glen Ross, you should...it's a masterpiece.
I like how they act like she will ever have problems with the law. The cops aren't trying to break down her door, just like they won't ever be trying to break down the doors of other criminals with as much money as her family has.
just because his guidance isn't something you agree with doesn't mean that she was missing it. you have no basis for this comment. and if she is an example of this like you claim than it's not that bleak of situation when she's an employed actress on a great television show.
The quote she mentions isn't saying "just say lines", it's saying believe the lines you're saying when you say them. Though I will say a lot of actors, most actors, OSCAR WINNING actors aren't 'method'. In truth an actor just needs to make the audience member believe they're the character, that's all, how they do it is irrelevant. Films are an illusion. So it is a matter of opinion.
Jessica Lockhart I started off laughing at the main character but after a while I started getting the vibe like the show expected me to empathize with her. Then it stopped being fun and started to be sad and uncomfortable
No he actually has a lot of respect for actors. What he doesn't respect is bullshit. A lot of thing surrounding acting is bullshit. The essence of acting is that you're playing a character who has a goal and goes after it. There's not much more to it than that. A lot of actors dress up their process with bullshit that doesn't do anything to make them better actors.
I am not disputing the concept of NEPOTISM. It exists in many occupational fields. However, what separates "SHOW BIZ" from "plumbing" (your example) or dry cleaning or practicing law or real estate or computer businesses is the "EGO" component. There is no other industry on the planet that aligns itself with "FAME". Case in point: A dentist may well be the "dentist to the stars", but outside of that tiny microcosm, nobody knows who that dentist is and perhaps more to the point, nobody cares. But when it comes to Movies, TV and Music --- it's a completely different animal. Actresses Tippi Hedren/Melanie Griffith, Actors Don Johnson/Dakota Johnson, Actors Donald Sutherland/Kiefer Sutherland, Actor-Director Nicholas Cage/Francis Ford Coppola, Actors Martin Sheen/Emilio Estevez, Musician's Ravi Shankar/Norah Jones, Musician's Butch Trucks (Allman Brothers Band)/Derek Trucks, etc.
Her father is brilliant. Tell a rebellious teen to drop out of school. She rebels, doesn't drop out.
That’s not why he did it though, he just genuinely thinks formal education is washed
Lil u did know he was actually onto sumthin school is not meant for us to be in there until 17/18 my parents are Colombian(includin myself🥱) but u know the funny thing about ofc lets say since I didnt get to study there & they did well id able to contrast the dif. Her dad is a right-wing and racist trump supporter.

She's terrific! Her expressions are so inductive. I get the impression she could handle a wide spectrum of roles.
"Remember that scary time he caught you studying for the SATs?"
"She made it to 17 wow" conan cracks me up
It never crossed my mind that she is the daughter of David Mamet. Never noticed her last name.
Cute and sweet and sharp young lady.
Just like her Mother Lindsey
I have to do a playwright project on this guy and I'm glad there is so much about him
She has a very unique look. Not pretty. Not ugly. She would have been a good lead in 80s teen angst movies.
Yeah that's what I was thinking too.
Accurate
well she is more on the yucky side than pretty side lol
I think 'charming' is the word you're looking for.
Just like my parents. Education wasn't a high priority in our house. My dad couldn't understand why I'd try harder in order to get above the minimum passing grade. And my mom would try to get me to stay home with her every day so we could hang out (RIP mom, now I wish I had done so).
she is gorgeous!
She would have terrible headshots though
She's hilarious! She even told a joke they didn''t get. (Her little sister was the Golden Child because she dropped out).. I am going to remember this young wonam.. what pizazz...

I like her real much, she seems so real

CONAN IS THE BEST HOST OMG.
he's a brilliant writer
I can't waaaiiittt for the new season!
I love this girl!!!!
What an amazing woman she is. Shines through. Dream girlriend/wife.
Mamet's advice to Zosia: "A.B.C, Always Be Closing!"
I'm a 30 year-old gay man, but I find her INCREDIBLY adorable.
She is so much better with normal color hair.
shoshana in "Girls". Best serie ever!
Being the daughter of a famous playwright probably didn't help her career at all.
She's one of the stars of an acclaimed HBO show. She's young and she makes a ton of money. I'd say she's doing pretty great in her career.
unruh955 And being the daughter of David Mamet didn't give her a leg up with it at all. Not one bit.
***** It is unfair to the thousands of equally or more talented actors who don't have famous parents to help their careers.
*****

SHE IS THE VOICE OF HECKAPOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yes she is!
Zosia and Evan are such a cute couple!
thats the way to go, particularly if the child is intelligent, you dont want to waste their formative years in moronic groups filled with bullys and people that will only stall their development, and what is more important, you need to give the kid a chance to have their own ideas outside of peer pressure groups. "A lot of salty language in this house!"
Well. She's a Mamet.
love her
She also voiced hekapoo in star vs the forces of evil
she might have had more visibility because of her father, but she got the role because she's talented and perfectly suited to the role she was hired to play.
I still feel funny about her pronunciation of the word “massacre” in the Mad Men episode entitled Mystery Date.
she's awesome.. love Girls!
She's a voice of a generation.
Oh I know, but Glengarry Glen Ross is often referred to as "Death of a Fucking Salesman"....if you haven't read Glengarry Glen Ross, you should...it's a masterpiece.
He did write the Glengarry Glen Ross (Play AND film).
I like how they act like she will ever have problems with the law. The cops aren't trying to break down her door, just like they won't ever be trying to break down the doors of other criminals with as much money as her family has.

And also a character from the HBO series 'Girls'.
neither can i. and shoshana is my favorite from the four tbh
Dropping out of high school just depends from state to state. In my state, you have to be at least 18, in others, it's 16, and so on.
Arthur Miller wrote Death of a Salesman.
LOVE ZOSIA.
Pretty girl, and looks much better with darker hair and less makeup, as she is here.
She looks so much like Mayim Balik!
How you figure that?
totally!!! i see it a little too
Mike Roberts She means "she looks jewish"
but much prettier.
@@KatiePotatie1986
In what way?
Although she dropped out of school, she's seems smarter than half the kids in my senior class. -.-
Saddest interview ever.
Sad? Why?
Sam, this is to intelligent for you! Go watch VH1, or MTV!
"Let's talk about THAT!" *HAHAHAHAH*
Seriously.
It's Shoshana from the show Girls
Oh sorry my bad, haha. Didn't know that. I actually haven't read Glengarry Glen Ross, I'll check it out soon.
the more and more i watch her the more she seems INTx
and from the movie Cherry...u should check it out,its pretty good
well why wouldn't you... she's a charming human being. Being gay has nothing to do with liking a person's personality
amazing woman
"goddammit, watch your mouth" xD
My advice to the 15 yo me in the past would be: drop out of school and study what you love at home.
i wish my parents were like that
Ahh I see. Thank you!
Her dad is right about everything
Then why is he estranged from his sister
don't know who she is but this interview was hilarious
Shoshana from GIRLS on HBO
love her!
Love her in Girls! Even better in real life
she is got the role because of her father
there are better actors out there who are better and who never get the chance
so sad
She is so cute.
"Let's talk about that!" - anyone else think good mythical morning
Creator of Girls was talking about killing of a character and I think it's Mamet's character.
She didnt get the role because of her father. Lena wanted new fresh faces for the show and Zosia is perfect for the role she plays!!
Back in the day her dad looks a lot like the Ace character from Girls
Refreshing
Heckapoo!
Wow, I never knew she was the daughter of David mamet
She's so funny omg
My mom read to her when she was in kindergarten.
@vinbvideos She's actually a really good actress on the show.
well you're a real treat
Wow she is hilarious
Y does she remind me so much of Sarah Silverman?
The quote she mentions isn't saying "just say lines", it's saying believe the lines you're saying when you say them. Her dad is going on the deep end these days.
His own sister can't stand him
Why does she say shes 24? On her wiki page it says she's 29?
Erika A maybe because it was 5 years ago XD
I think I saw her in Mad Men.
Am I one of the only people who thinks Girls is just rubbish. The writing and the execution of the script by the 'cast' is absolutely atrocious.
Jessica Lockhart I started off laughing at the main character but after a while I started getting the vibe like the show expected me to empathize with her. Then it stopped being fun and started to be sad and uncomfortable
It's hilarious how little respect David Mamet has for actors.
No he actually has a lot of respect for actors. What he doesn't respect is bullshit. A lot of thing surrounding acting is bullshit. What the hell does Tom Sellek have tied around his neck?
She's too smart for high school!
She has the same name as my mom
"I'm learning, I'm learning... I'm young!" ---- the excuse of everyone on Girls anytime something is problematic...

Conan's REALLY not having her back...
So far the cops haven’t come looking for her...
She said she likes to READ
Reverse psychology at its finest: sounds like he's a very respectable man
Chris Ducat well... the other daughter did drop out
Her dad thinks acting school is bullshit, but he founded the Atlantic acting school................
ah em ah em ah my dad told me acting school was bullshit!
Kmart, dont you ever put dubstep in one of your commercials again.
