I tried the S24 Ultra last year but still kept my S21 Ultra because it was better for me overall. 10x Zoom camera, more colorful display and basically the same software since it will get Android 15 too
for me they haven't done anything significant since the s23 ultra and Im feeling more glad about choosing that over the 24 now seeing where they are going

This is the most fair review I've watched. The S25 series have a serious problem with the cameras. Images are not detailed as compared to the S24 series and if this is hardware problem, buyers are doomed. I'm trading in my base S24 for higher storage update but I'm finding it too hard after comparing the two phones. Pictures from the S24 look cleared and detailed than the S25. I'm shocked. The battery lasts longer on the S25 series because Samsung brought down the brightness. Brightness is higher on my S24 more than the S25.
I think you mjst have a bad s25u or dont have one at all becasue my s25u takes far better and mkre detailed pics thsn my s24u and is on par with my 16pm

it's worth if you're coming from a 2018 Smartphone, and the price of S24 Ult and S25 Ult here in my country is the same. I get it that S-Pen Bluetooth was removed, but still spec & software wise i'd buy S25 Ult. Smartphone photography wise buy Vivo X200 Pro. 👌
I was going to wait to get the S25 Ultra but I went with the Google Pixel 9 Pro XL instead. I had the Google Pixel 8 Pro and I had the upgrade with a discount so I'm very happy with the phone. It has one of the best cameras on the market. Awesome review.

You brought up a good point, S24U was already a great phone, what could Samsung do to improve it? Let's see: 1. much better various cameras, 1inch sensor, better zoom, better front camera, options to sharpen photos or not. 2. higher battery capacity, new type of battery. 3. 2x faster charging speed and include a 100W charger. 4. killer feature: have an option to turn the screen glossy or matte. 5. retain what works eg curve sides and spen BT. 6. faster fingerprint sensor and faster face detection or iris scanner like note 9. 7. even louder speakers. 8. give truly good AI features. 9. improve on google AI features instead of just be the first to implement them.
The downgrade of the S Pen is the only reason I decided not to buy the S25 Ultra. I'm still using my OnePlus 7T Pro, and after five years, it's time for a replacement. I was excited about the S25 Ultra, but then... I realized it's almost the same as the S24 Ultra, except the S Pen is actually better on the older model. So I look for S24 Ultra - but for the same price-or even a little less-you can get the OnePlus 13, which is better than the S24 Ultra, S25, and S25+. So I'm now closer to OP13... What would you suggest?
@andreferguson3376 No, but the spen thing has got more noise than it should. Felt like everyone using an ultra is actually using the Spen. Why not trashing Samsung for the 5000 battery? or the slow charging speed? Such things deserve more attention than a feature that almost no one use
I have the S24U, an excellent smartphone-up there with the best. The S25U is an iterative update that improves imperfections with a few design tweaks. It certainly would not persuade me to trade up. I did trade the S23U in for the S24U to get a flat display, as I hate curved ones, but nothing here adds value. Battery life on the S24U is two days for me, performance is overkill, the display is Grade A, it is smooth, and it has performed with very few issues over the year. The cameras are above average with pros and cons, but no perfect camera phone exists. This is very expensive for those not trading in, coming from much older devices, but it would likely be a fantastic long-term buy. But then again, there are cheaper, similarly excellent phones in Europe that I can say the same for, so if I were buying now, I would probably buy the Honor Magic 7 Pro at £350 less or the OP13 with a free watch for a similar saving.

I refuse to believe that the upgrade to the 8 Elite necessitated deletion of bluetooth from the SPen. Very funny thing is that the coil that is used to charge the pen in the previous models is still there. It just depends on if its used to just detect the pen or if it has charging capabilities. Even funnier is that the SPen is nearly identical, as its internals have the space for the battery and BT module. Overal, S24 Ultra facelift/sidegrade. Not that interesting. No amount of software features and AI will beat real hardware upgrades. Though, that ultrawide really needed an upgrade so thats the only real upgrade, along with the chipset.

I've been using a Xiaomi phone for 6 years and now moving to my new S25 Ultra is already a massive upgrade for me. It is a better S24 ultra to me because of the added AI features, and the S-pen bluetooth doesnt matter to me as I already use my samsung watch 4 gestures for that.

I have seen multiple tests of the S25U versus 16 Pro Max, and the iPhone wins each time. From battery life tests to gaming to multitasking, the iPhone remains the best as it is better optimised with a chip that does not throttle hard.
So let's give a rundown of the changes + rounded corners of the frame + shrank the bezels a bit - Ultrawide cam is worse based on Will's descriptions vs s24 ultra - turned the s pen into a plastic stick - still charges slower than a 2018 budget phone - same battery capacity for 4th generation in a row So basically they took the s24 ultra (which you can buy in excellent condition for £700), rounded the corners, downgraded the cameras and S pen... And charged £1300)
Samsung doesn't have to tell nobody that the 25 Ultra is a very good phone. There's only two most influential phone brand out there and that is Samsung and iPhone.

I think its crazy manufacturers have stopped including charger and earphones as standard specially for thr price. I have just ordered the S25 ultra as no matter what these s23 and s24 users are saying IT IS better. I was close to getting the iphone16 pro max as it did feel better user experience BUT the double storage for same price and better trade in deal swung it for me. It goes in a case so design wise not an issue.
Note 9 was peak Samsung, S23 Ultra aged like fine wine after that its all downhill. S24 ultra- minor hardware upgrades, followed apple to 5x instead of 10x S25 ultra- Literally made Spen a generic stylus, falls back in all categories behind recent chinese flagships. @Will Regarding the video, S25Ultra has no 12 MP camera, not even from 200 or 50 MP if you change ratio. I assume that after minute 7 you refer to the new 50MP ultrawide not 12 MP S24 Ultra camera.

I think its crazy manufacturers have stopped including charger and earphones as standard specially for thr price. I have just ordered the S25 ultra as no matter what these s23 and s24 users are saying IT IS better. I was close to getting the iphone16 pro max as it did feel better user experience BUT the double storage for same price and better trade in deal swung it for me. It goes in a case so design wise not an issue.
