    the cable holds it back quite a lot, i feel like the lighter the mouse the more important a good cable is

    • @GoodEnoughTechReviews
      @GoodEnoughTechReviews  2 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      I'd always said cables don't bother me... Until I used the M2K and I was constantly aware of it, such a shame!
      Hope you enjoyed the video regardless 😬

    • @Aithey
      @Aithey 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Honestly, HSK cable feels pretty terrible in terms of weight shifted when moving the mouse vs M1K/M2K imo. Sure it's rubber, but still quite impressive at holding up against other mouse cables considering what it is.

    • @GoodEnoughTechReviews
      @GoodEnoughTechReviews  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Aithey I don't really like the cable on either, but at least HSK is a little easier to paracord if needed.
      Ultimately I prefer the HSK+ but that's not a retail mouse yet.

    Great informative review Gary. I have the glossy M2K and had it for a while. It was my main for some months. I totally agree the cable is what's holding this mouse back. I hope we will get 8k wireless soon

      I wouldn't count on it, I think they will be cabled as long as the company is alive. The good thing is, that the soon-to-be-here M3K's cable will be better, and the M2S's, which comes in 2024, will be even better than that.
      You had the glossy M2K; how slippery it was due to the coating?

    • @lnbabz
      @lnbabz 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@zatozatoichi7920 Glossy coating is great imo! Really grippy, don't need any grip tape. I modded my M2K with an aftermarket cord and it's almost perfect now. Still wireless would be superb ofc.
      Looking forward to the M3K. M2S not so much since the steep price and no scroll wheel (which I need, idc about sidebuttons though).

    cool review! not many high quality videos about this mouse.
    i've got a few hundred hours in kovaak with the m2k (Voltaic Jade complete except static clicking) and a bunch of CS and Valorant.
    I think people complaining about the cable are laying it out wrong. it needs to be a wide upside-down U flat on the table. the rubber has minimal friction and the right amount of stiffness not to tangle. paracord would be better for running up to a bungee or straight ahead because it's lighter and more flexible, but you'd feel more drag on a mouse this light.
    wrt side buttons: you can't aim as well while pressing side buttons. i moved my thumb button to a pedal and haven't looked back.

    • @GoodEnoughTechReviews

    • @GoodEnoughTechReviews
      @GoodEnoughTechReviews  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      If it was factory mass produced then I get it... but they said that literally hand-assemble every mouse from parts in Germany and QC it themselves... at least give me some basic options as a consumer to get the mouse that makes the most sense for ME and not what you think I should have ><
      Paracord, Switches, Ceramic Wheel colour, Scroll encoder... These are like just the bare minimum you'd expect from such a premium/bespoke product.

    Would you recommend this mouse to someone who’s just curious in trying out fingertip? I know the answer is definitely no because of the price, but let’s pretend it’s not expensive. What other fingertip mice would you recommend otherwise? I mostly play relaxed claw. My hands are at the smaller end of medium and the only mouse I have which I can fingertip is the M42.

    I think the problem is that it is not really a luxury product even with that price tag. The two dudes probably work very hard for the 350 dollars they get, and surely make way less profit than something like the finalmouse for 189 dollars, and you get less hype and comfort features but more performance and quality

    • @GoodEnoughTechReviews
      @GoodEnoughTechReviews  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      It's a balance for sure, I don't think anyone looks at Dominik and Patrick as making easy money on it, but objectively $350 is a HUGE ask for a gaming mouse and with each of them units being hand assembled, I think some level of personalisation in terms of parts is probably realistic.
      Nothing too ground breaking but I think switches, encoder, wheel ceramic colour and paracord/standard cord options would help to make this mouse feel something more bespoke, especially given there are 4-5 week lead times anyway.
      But again, all subjective as any review, that's just how I felt coming out of it.

    For a premium mouse at that price point
    the lack of customization and options
    is a huge no go for most people interested in buying it.
    I understand that the engineering behind it may be complicated but having the creators and most of the community being against making it available with side buttons, other cables or wireless capability
    will keep the company from growing their product. Is a shame that even in the discord server people mock each other saying that it does not need more options or customization and that the people that want side buttons are haters.
    The point of being a PC gamer is freedom in customization and to be able to personalize hardware at your own preference.

    • @GoodEnoughTechReviews
      @GoodEnoughTechReviews  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      THIS, 100%
      Feels like Zaun should've taken a look at their audience, enthusiast PC gamers who you are absolutely right, want to customise and tweak their setup to perfectly fit their needs.
      I'm not saying expensive or difficult variations, but certainly options in the assembly would go a long way here, especially as each mouse is hand assembled by the brothers, so there's plenty of scope for them to add different colour options, switches or specific cable requests.
      Great mouse, but a ton of potential left on the table.
