That is just art. I had to watch some parts a few times because it's so strange to see six gymnasts out there instead of five. But what lovely innovation. I love how the opening and the ending are mirror images of each other. That was very effective.

As for "innovation" - this is just the rule at that time. Since the beginning of RG groups, there were 6 gymnasts, just from late 90s (if not wrong) they transform the groups into 5 gymnasts.

I'm pretty sure the commentator said that this piece was based on the legend of the Belogradchik rock formations, and like this piece, the other piece that begins with Camellia dancing first and leading the team is also a very impressive piece that seems to be based on some kind of folklore motif, and I love these two pieces.
