I'm not sure if anyone knows this but the single bed from (Snowy Escape) doesn't give kids Nightmares, so no more spending money on night lights and no more waking up your adult/teen sims
I didn't know that, I did know that the monster doesn't show up if they sleep in a big bed, also they can talk to the monster and try to make friends with it, which helps if they succeed, but I didn't know about the Snowy Escape bed.
Yeah, they can befriend the monster and tell him to leave as well. She should have sold the oven and got a microwave as children can make stuff (such as nuggets, etc) unlike the oven 🙂
Or we could strand them on a plant covered island and have them grow up together without leaving... like maybe they were the last survivors of a shipwreck
@@emmamarkel8410 I did a play through featuring a group of 3 teens, and 5 children living in an abandoned barn/storehouse, that used the Off-The-Grid lot challenge. I may try to write that up as a challenge for the Sims community as it felt like a good little story (I'm just using the base game at the moment, but I feel like if you add in some of the extra packs, it could be a very good challenge, even without extra mods)
dude, someone should turrn this into an actual challenge along the lines of that 'aliens abducted my parents' scenario but the hard mode bc there are no teens to cook/ have part time jobs. It could even have home alone theming and prevent you from interacting with adults/ have you earning money to make your house burglar proof i.e. cowplants everywhere, mazes of high walls. (damn now i just wish there were sims 4 burglars)
I was inspired by this video and tried it and had my child living off the grid. Their Grandpa was removed from the family, so it worked. However, there is one thing that children can't do and that is pay the bills on the lot. They have to wait until they are a teen to do that. They also can't list items for sale on plopsy (photos, knitting, cross-stitch), and they can lead a yoga class, but don't get paid for it. They also can't grab chips at the bar. They can fish and collect and harvest and sell from inventory or sell on a selling table, or sell to the stall in Henford-on-Bagley, breed frogs, get a space print from the large telescope, draw on the kid's easel & sell these on the street gallery (yard sale) , get tips singing and playing instruments, win the karaoke contest, win in the Humor & Hijinks Festival, and win an on-line computer tournament. The only aspiration they are not able to do is the Whiz Kid as it is the adult you have to click on to be able to read for 2 hrs. with the child.
This was a fresh new way to play. Nice lxdice! Then we can have Bristol make it to adulthood, have a baby and get it to childhood, then abandon the kid to go chase her dreams or something and continue this generational curse, lol
i have done a child RtR before, and it's surprisingly easy. i started off with an empty lot except for a single coffin, then put an adult vampire sim inside to hibernate so i wouldn't need to worry about them ( i was scared to try the "remove from family" cheat because i was worried i'd get an automatic game over). the kid ended up buying a small home almost entirely out of tips for singing, but in hindsight i could've had him dig up collectibles around the neighborhood, use one of the sales tables, mark the price up 300%, and sell everything that way. as a side note, kids can't spray plants for bugs, so if your plants get infested, you're SOL unless you hire a gardener. homework alone won't increase mental skill, but extra credit does. Children can write songs, but they can't license them until they're teens.
Can they get food from a fridge though? Wouldn't they need the independent trait? I know there is mod that let's children take care of babies, if it works for taking care of toddlers then you could have a child and their little sibling survive on their own.
I enjoyed this video. I might give it a try. BTW: Once a Sim reaches level 2 of the wellness skill, they can begin teaching yoga or meditation classes (and giving massages) to earn money. As you saw, kids don't build the wellness skill with yoga, so kids can lead a yoga class but they won't get paid.
I remember playing the sims one with my own family, then deciding to check out the Goth household. Everyone but child Cassandra were dead, and she was living off of calling for pizza delivery every day.

She earned her way with tips while playing a violin on the lot, ate from plates that NPCs grilled up, had access to the bathroom and there were a lot of kids to socialize with once she earned enough and became a teen, I bought her land, and started building up from there.
I love this challenge in all the Sims games. My favorite to do this is with The Sims 3. edit: I call it The Lonely Child Challenge. My work around for having only a child is to move in a YA into a lot and then change their age in Edit CAS. There is a nice glitch when you do this. The game still thinks the sim is a YA but behaves completely like a child. You definitely want mods that allow kids to garden, play instruments, and take care of babies...esp if you want to leave a child with a toddler! So fun.
another good one for kids to make money is the cross stitch and knitting items. i also have done a very similar challenge before but with a different twist. for me it was about an alien child that had to survive on their own and stay hidden
I actually started a playthrough like this a few months ago, but the girl does have a mom, she's just a terrible mom who doesn't bother taking care of the kid, so my girl has to try to learn how to grow/collect/make everything. It's surprisingly enjoyable, even if she does have to sneak onto farmers' properties sometimes and steal a veggie or two for her own little garden. Girl's gotta eat.
This was fun! I rarely use the selling table (especially when I've only got 1 sim) though, the time it takes to sell isn't really worth it for lower value things. Maybe save that only for things like hatchable eggs and sell from inventory everything only worth a few simoleons each.
if you make the prices higher though everything sells for much more. i sell eggs and milk which are normally worth like 10 and 20 simoleons and i get 40 and 80 simoleons for them
@@rokanwood7458 Yeah, I set mine to 300% but but when it takes all day to make maybe 150-200 simoleons off low value items (each sale takes around 40-60 minutes IME) you could be earning more money in the meantime doing other things. @@NotSoHeartBroken I guess you just have to make enough money to replace things that get repossessed? That would add an extra layer of challenge to the challenge.
Kids can paint on an actual easel and sell paintings. The higher their creativity, the higher the painting will sell for and some can sell for thousands of simoleons. That might be a good option!
I think they may mean the children creativity tables… the thing is I haven’t played with the tables enough to know if the child can make “thousands of simoleons”.

I already know the answer to this, only issue is bills, you'd need MCCC to allow auto pay, but could just have kid be off the grid. I used to play as Naruto and had him living alone in his home
Great video and cool experiment! Just one question: was it via a mod that you could make disappear the adult? How could I do this on console? Thanks in advance
Ah that was a cheat to send to rabbithole, I didn't know that they never return though, not sure how it is on console, but if you can turn testing cheats on you can get to it from being on the sim I think, she didn't use any mods, which makes me wonder about why bills didn't show up, maybe only the adult can pay those and when in a rabbithole maybe the bills don't come.
Keyboard and mouse are easiest ways to do it on console, I have a wireless keyboard and mouse. You can also open the console command window by pressing r1 r2 l1 l2 at the same time with controller, at least on xbox s/x.

I mean, eggs in the US are a bit expensive so that price sounds about right
I already know the answer to this, only issue is bills, you'd need MCCC to allow auto pay, but could just have kid be off the grid. I used to play as Naruto and had him living alone in his home
Pls make a series of this!! 🙌
Everything a child wants to listen, 'this is your life now, you live on a island on your own, and you need to make money'. Not preassure.
Hmmm What about the bills, did they stop cause the adult left to a rabbithole?
Nice. I plan to do a runaway child challenge with a few mods to mak4 it somewhat realistic there is a mod that makes it where a kid can live alone
Use the chickens to get her social needs up.
Try if toddlers stay alone I will try this but idk if it'll work for me cause I have a ps4 and can't put mods on my game without having to replace the disc with a different mod
You can do this without mods if you have an adult in your household. Just put them in the basement with basic necessities and delete the stairs.
@@charitycodes thanks! I may try it!
I like this one a lot. Make another episode of bristol!
I made my child with her mom, and as soon as i placed them in the lot I removed her mom from household, so it was just the child.
might be able to have her practicing writing on a computer, and get her to write books. dunno if kids can do it tho
if you use the multisell you can sell the knits without plopsy
Can someone tell me what mod she used? The "rabbit hole"s option does NOT exist in a vanilla game.
