- we're starting the Rags To Riches challenge today...but HARD MODE!! August Yearwood has needed a change in life, and decided to go fully off the grid and live off the land...but in Evergreen Harbor.
Today, our main goal was to get started, grow crops, and just get a bed.
Rules:
1. Lot Challenges have to be Simple Living/Off the Grid.
2. Can ONLY have crafted or reclaimed furniture. Nothing bought from build mode. (May use LittleMissSams more craftables mod!)
3. May replace damaged/burnt items once a day.
4. No jobs or odd-jobs.
5. End Goal: to have at least 1,000,000 Simoleans. - เกม

I came up with a very similar rags to riches challenge, but I added a few extra rules and called it the extreme wilderness challenge:
Start on a forest lot. You can decorate how you like with ornamental plants, trees, etc. No pools or usable furniture. The only acceptions are: you can have as many bushes as you want for bladder purposes and you can place a log or stone bench for sleeping. Can also place a campfire
*Must play with simple living and off the grid
*can leave the lot, but can't leave the neighborhood until you've befriended a sim that can "drive" you.
*can't sell anything out of your inventory, can only sell to venders at a market stall, or you can set up a table and sell flea market style
*can grow veggies, but only to eat.
*can only work one of the "part time" jobs unless you get a degree. Can also do odd jobs.
*can't build a house until you can afford to build the whole thing. Can't make infinite structural changes. Once the house is built, you can do 1 renovation per generation. (So add a room. Knock down a wall, etc.) But you can also build one out-building per generation, so like a shed or something like an in law suite. (For the sake of realism bc irl nobody renovates a home more than a few times in a lifetime.) Children cannot live alone in an outbuilding until they are teens.
*while you're saving up to build a house, you may buy camping supplies or anything that a homleless person could realistically have: tent, sleeping bag, picnic basket, cooler, grill, the camping amenities that came with outdoor living, etc.
*most of your furniture must be crafted.
*can spend the night at another sim's house once a week, but only if that sim is either your best friend or your lover.
Needless to say, this was a huge challenge. But the struggle is the fun part

I'm starting the same but also added that painting isn't allowed, since it's too easy to make money like that!
Plus, I play with Carl's overhaul mod, which makes things 500x harder, I'd 100% suggest that (if you can download mods)

And to make your life harder: maybe don't just sell stuff you find and/or make but use Plopsy? And I'm not sure if it'd be considered as a "crafting" thing but if yes buy selling table/wall/mat and then sell what you can. Not sure what to do with spare parts tho 😅

gonna do this challenge but with my hex girls inspired eco goth sim, I dont use cc so im gonna limit myself to only traveling around the evergreen harbor neighboorhoods, and I think she's gonna make candles, I lvoe candles XD

i really like the start of this gameplay. all of the other challenges are so easy and yours actually give us a challenge lol. i just found your channel so im not sure how far you too this series, but i really hope theres a lot more episodes bc i will most definitely be watching them all :)

Instead of selling both violins, you could've practiced and then busked for tips in San Myshuno or something. Also, you kept overlooking the bathroom in the art museum. It's on the first floor, but maybe if you had zoomed in a bit more, you would've seen it right there on the left-hand side, lol.

Love rags to riches and hard mode. Have never played simple living, but always play off-the-grid. I think you need the firepit from Outdoor Living to roast fish. August is a great character. And good luck on dumpster diving a bed! Woot! The museum in SanMyshuno on the main floor has the bathrooms, and on the 2nd? floor has a woodworking table. There is also a mini kitchen on the first floor with a bar. Is he permitted to get chips at the bar?
I think August needs to find a gym ( they have showers lol) x
trust me! i learned the hard way later on! i'm making it habit to travel more until he has his own things!!! lol
If you use the multi-select button on the top right of your inventory you can sell way more items that you can’t from dragging and dropping. That’s how I sell my time capsules.
Pretty sure you need to stay in the area to let the plants grow 🤔
Awesome video Lucca. Humble suggestion: consider becoming a werewolf - wolf nap, groom self, hunt for food, mark territory, scavenge around. Might make things too easy but hey you have rampages which are fun idk haha. Either way super excited for the next part!!
