Could you put a slip of paper with the title of the book in the physical book and just take it out when you sell it?? You could collect the slips of paper and correct your inventory later!
I came to give that suggestion! A cute independent I use to go to (Paper Pages in Crescent, Oklahoma) puts note cards in the front and takes them out when you buy it 😊
As a vendor myself, my husband made me a great google sheet. I fill it out with my inventory the day before and print it. It has columns of how it was purchased, cash, card, Venmo.. And when I sell stuff I just make tally marks. I’d love to share it with you if you’d like! It makes my life so much easier. Plus I save them to see what was popular at every event from different years!
You can buy a barcode scanner and plug it into your laptop, scan the barcode into a spreadsheet, compare to a spreadsheet of books received from distributor.
Ariel now that your first book truck season is over I'd love to see a book truck Q&A on your channel! I have questions I want to ask haha! This episode was so fun though seeing you two together is so fun and makes me feel like we're all together!
Great video, this was so fun to watch, I enjoy all the podcasts and extra things you both do for PATREON subscribers!!! Im so glad I found you two. Thank you for sharing your lives with us! I just turned 71 years old on October 3, you both bring me so much joy!!!!!
A fast way to record what books you sell would be to take a photo with your phone. If someone is buying a stack of books, you can just take one photo of them, and when you get home, enter them into your database.
It's so funny to me how you were arguing over who's actually taller when both of you were SO TALL! I had no idea! At my five feet even, I would not be able to tell a difference even on uneven ground lol! Aw, it sounds like you both had so much fun. Love seeing and hearing about you spending time together IRL!
Girls! You cannot mention a gorgeous Frankenstein cover and then not show it ?!?! What are you doing ?!?! Sincerely, Shelley Fanatic who collects these gorgeous editions ;)
If you’re selling a lot of books about unhinged women, that means that a lot of us must be losing our minds.😆Fortunately, Books Unbound is our weekly moment of sanity.
Ariel, have you heard of The Dorthy Project? They are a feminist publishing project that took their name from the editor’s paternal great-aunt, who was a librarian and bookmobile driver. They only release a few books a year and they are always really interesting.
I'm so happy I got to go! I bought a wonderful book & beautiful Pin and meet you guys! My daughter was the toddler in her stroller docile from her nap! Thanks for the hug, can't wait for more event in the future! I was telling you guys about the new book store in Elmsdale NS
I recently read The Marvelous Equations of the Dread...it's a great book and I would recommend 😊Thanks for sharing the mini truck update, I love listening to your episodes with a good cup of tea ❤
I'm so sad I didn't get to go! I wanted to buy one of Mama's chickens, and also so many books, like "know my name" and "my year of rest and relaxation". I was also going to bring you guys some books: Nine Stories for Raeleen and for Ariel, The Blue Castle original manuscript that was released this year from Nimbus. Hopefully next summer!! 😃
I look forward to your new episodes every week, thank you for sharing your bookish lives with us. Enjoyed listening to this episode while baking a lemon cake after a very bleak day at work. Also as an aside, I love Raeleen's nail colour!
The flight from Japan to Canada was too expensive so I couldn't make it but I'm so glad that the event went so well!!🎉 39:15 Is this linked somewhere btw?? I'd love to see what it was like from the customer’s point of view as well!😚
Why not enter all of the titles into square and then they’re searchable in the POS? You can add different prices for different editions or formats that may come in and out!
What fun - mini book truck adventures. I’ve seen people in used book stores scanning the the ISBNs can you do that to help with inventory. Sorry I don’t know more about the contraption. I live in the PNW so not expecting an event near me🥴
I would have loved to go, but I'm not in Canada, so it's not easy. But if you ever wanted to sell books (Men Have Called Her Crazy), chickens, and pumpkins online, let me know! Also, Square has a free card reader and you can scan barcodes
You use square for your sales? I know when I've sold books via square, I was able to add them in as items, then you can select them when you are completing the purchase. I think that would help with tracking, but maybe there's something I'm not thinking about.
I’m trying to figure out how you could track it maybe you could make an actual list alphabetically so that you can find it pretty easily and then just put a checkmark next to it or like an X like if you have three you put you know three spaces with just the same book and then when you sell it you just check next to one of the books and then the other two are still available available for the next sale
, just had a thought wld it be useful instead of writing down the info in the moment wld it be useful to make urself voice notes or take pics about what books ur selling🤔😊
How about taking a photo of each book sold at point of sale. You don’t need to include the purchaser for privacy reasons. I’m sure people would be understanding

Good idea
that’s what i came here to write haha!
I work at an antique mall and I came here to say the same thing!

This is so smart!
Oh yeah! Tick marks would be so much simpler.

I think in general More booktruck videos on your own channel would be awesome
Same!! I was hoping for a 7 video book truck series but I’m happy for any content

Ooo or they could set up something to take video of the ring up station so then they can go through it spend up later and document
If you two told me you were sisters I’d believe it! You have such similar expressions and emotes and gestures 😅 heart your friendship! 💖

You guys are like Merry and Pippen with who's taller. Too cute.

Visiting Bissett Books is on my bucket list! :)
Impressive sale numbers! That's a book sold every 2 minutes!!
I recently read The Marvelous Equations of the Dread...it's a great book and I would recommend 😊Thanks for sharing the mini truck update, I love listening to your episodes with a good cup of tea ❤

Officially my highest anticipated episode ever. Cannot wait to watch this after work!! Congrats to you both ❤
Raeleen looks witchy in the best possible way 🐈⬛
I looove the graphic nove On a Sunbeam!!! 😮
Way not have a spreadsheet that you update when you restock, and correct after each event?
So fun to see you together!
I’m so jealous of all the people who live where you are and are able to meet you and the truck.
Greetings from Colombia, South America ❤
I look forward to your new episodes every week, thank you for sharing your bookish lives with us. Enjoyed listening to this episode while baking a lemon cake after a very bleak day at work. Also as an aside, I love Raeleen's nail colour!
Oh no! When I'm selling at events, sometimes I'll take a quick snap of what they are buying so I can look back and mark them off :)
laughing so hard at arial freaking out about the perception of her height😂
The flight from Japan to Canada was too expensive so I couldn't make it but I'm so glad that the event went so well!!🎉

Best episode ever! You two are so fun and so glad you've had such a great time together!
I'm also the same height! Love this update, so glad you both had fun at the mini truck event!!! 🥰🥰
When among crows was SO good!
I'm reading it right now and can only agree!!
The height conspiracy 😂😂
A little barcode scanner would be ideal for tracking the sales! Or even a barcode app on your phone
Very fun episode!
Loved this.
Omg I just finished reading I who have never known men, I loved it!
I read it this year too and it’s a new fav, what a strange perfect little book :)

I loved this episode so much!! I'm hoping to make a pilgrimage to the truck next year!! 💖
I’m so happy that you had a successful event!🎉📚

Where’s the link to the reel?
Ariel, why not take photos of the books as you're checking them out? Would probably be faster than writing them down.

@@AbKhaos It's Tuesday in Canada and the U.S., too! This episode was released on Tuesday instead of the usual Monday.

You didn’t link the reel

Ngl, Ariel looks shorter 😳 👀😂
