I myself am a sikh army officer we all wear helmets during operation in Kashmir and north east prior to this helmet also but people are just politicising the matter it it is a good step and dont think even other sikh soldiers will have a problem .sikh soldiers wear a a patka beneath the helmet used to be slightly difficult due to the patka but it is a good step now the new design helmet will easily accommodate the patka and thus providing Better safety durin operations..by the way i would like to tell i have full long hair i m not a cut surd

The helmet has already been designed in a way that Sikh soldiers can wear it So it is better and best to welcome the change as it is taking care of both religion and responsibilities
@raman.k9000 I'm sorry, but your choices can not work in the Army. By not wearing a helmet, you can get severally injured or in worst but common scenario you can die. This could be a huge loss or danger in case of confrontations/war. For example, let's say you're in a confrontation/war. In such case, to keep fighting and stopping the enemies, you must keep yourself safe. Even one small error can change the course of action, let alone losing a fellow soldier. The army is not the place for mistakes, losses, and personal choices.
Sikh my self, and this helmet is just fine. I don’t see any issues with it. SGPC needs to be practical in their approach. Modern problems need modern solutions.

I'm a Sikh and can tell you that the point mentioned by SGPC holds no value a soldier's life is the most precious for army and should be saved no matter what

I m a sikh. I oppose normal helmets but this is specialised for turbans so there is no problem in this. This is a good initiative. + the commettie SGPC has failed to perform well in social reforms so I don't think this commette should interfere here.
Exactly its approved by Sikh officers. Will be worn by Sikh soldiers. It will protect them . Most important it's specially made for them . I am actually happy that after so many years of independence someone actually thought of these about our Sikh brothers.

@@kavenmalhi5057 I believe in Science and facts more than anything else.. Yes I do meditation and pray for few minutes daily.. But I always prefer Scientific approach.. The country which prefers Science over religion has more contribution in Discoveries and inventions.. See Japan, China, United States, Russia.. As a son of a army officer. I would like to say that SGPC playing politics on this issue. But sikh army should not denied. It's compulsory for sikh soldiers to save their lives. The government giving priority to safety.

As a staunch Sikh myself, I don't see a problem of a Sikh soldier wearing a safety helmet as long as it saves that Sikh's life during wartime. Sikhi is deep within that doesn't vanish due to some temporary arrangements.
Do you know the importance of turban for a Sikh? It was as important for many communities, but the respect was wiped out of their psyche ( esp khatri and Rajput brothers)

But don't you think, the life of Sikh is more important to his family & his Battalion in the event of war. It may also interest you to know, the weaponry back in WW-II & in 2023 has drastically changed. Now an automatic gun fires 50 to 60 rounds in a minute. So if a single bullet hits your head, you are gone. Do you want that ?? Guru saab didn't teach us to become fools & andhbhakts. Sikhi is a religion of reason. Else what was bad in worshipping Idols ?? Why did Guru saab switched from Hinduism to Sikhism on some key points, because he used reasoning & logic.

This is not a religious matter it’s a Army decision and a Sikh in army better decide . No one out from the army have right to say no to such good initiatives . Design of helmets also not just made and been given to soldiers, it takes a lot of suggestion , recommendation to develop . I am a Sikh (not in army). I appreciate this measure taken by the Govt. Helmet is only to be worn during war time, Govt. is not asking them to replace it with their turban and wear it all the times. Gurus encouraged Sikhs to have a modern and practical approach in life. Protesting against wearing helmets (during war time) is definitely not in line with the Sikh principles.

I myself am a sikh army officer we all wear helmets during operation in Kashmir and north east prior to this helmet also but people are just politicising the matter it it is a good step and dont think even other sikh soldiers will have a problem .sikh soldiers wear a a patka beneath the helmet used to be slightly difficult due to the patka but it is a good step now the new design helmet will easily accommodate the patka and thus providing Better safety durin operations..by the way i would like to tell i have full long hair i m not a cut surd

@raman.k9000 I'm sorry, but your choices can not work in the Army. By not wearing a helmet, you can get severally injured or in worst but common scenario you can die. This could be a huge loss or danger in case of confrontations/war. For example, let's say you're in a confrontation/war. In such case, to keep fighting and stopping the enemies, you must keep yourself safe. Even one small error can change the course of action, let alone losing a fellow soldier. The army is not the place for mistakes, losses, and personal choices.
Sikh my self, and this helmet is just fine. I don’t see any issues with it. SGPC needs to be practical in their approach. Modern problems need modern solutions.

As a staunch Sikh myself, I don't see a problem of a Sikh soldier wearing a safety helmet as long as it saves that Sikh's life during wartime. Sikhi is deep within that doesn't vanish due to some temporary arrangements.
Do you know the importance of turban for a Sikh? It was as important for many communities, but the respect was wiped out of their psyche ( esp khatri and Rajput brothers)

But don't you think, the life of Sikh is more important to his family & his Battalion in the event of war. It may also interest you to know, the weaponry back in WW-II & in 2023 has drastically changed. Now an automatic gun fires 50 to 60 rounds in a minute. So if a single bullet hits your head, you are gone. Do you want that ?? Guru saab didn't teach us to become fools & andhbhakts. Sikhi is a religion of reason. Else what was bad in worshipping Idols ?? Why did Guru saab switched from Hinduism to Sikhism on some key points, because he used reasoning & logic.

I am a Sikh (not in army). I appreciate this measure taken by the Govt. Helmet is only to be worn during war time, Govt. is not asking them to replace it with their turban and wear it all the times. Gurus encouraged Sikhs to have a modern and practical approach in life. Protesting against wearing helmets (during war time) is definitely not in line with the Sikh principles.

Keeping this in mind the helmet was developed... our brave sikh soldiers had been using the PATKA helmet on top of the turban but they don't cover the whole head .. now this modern helmet will give all round protection without compromising the turban .
