Many many thax Eric for this awesome curing tutorial. Simply invaluable for a newbie like me. Moving to the MI UP in about 7 months and hope to put this info to work!!! Thankx for all you continue to do for the community especially the shore/pier anglers.

Pro cure was my go to. My favorite color. red hot double stuff. Has never let me down. I never wore gloves. My hands were stained and cracked for sure .These days i seem to catch just as many kings , coho,s steelhead and browns. On flies. Thanks for the vid bud.

Thanks Eric. You rock for sharing this. "Catch a bunch" from a past, grateful for a couple great days of skein fishing, client.

Awesome video, you gave away years of knowledge. Out here in the PNW people are not so open to sharing their egg recipes, they probably wouldn't share it with their only son while on there deathbed lol

Great video! Pautzke fire cure is good stuff too. When I’m river fishing I like to let them dry out in the sun for a few days til they get almost a taffy texture. Stay in the egg loop a lot better cuz the trout can’t tear it up as much.

Personally I’ll rarely use Pauzke they used to send me tons of cures but my catch rates went waaaay down so I’d suggest Pro Cure or Atlas just a FYI

Did you take the blood out of the veins on the edges of the skein? I use a spoon to move it, cut it with scissors, and blot the blood with a paper towel.

Do you use egg loops with your skein? In your video when you’re setting your down lines, it looks like you’re just putting a chunk right on the hook! I always tie egg loops, just curious on your approach! Thanks for the recipe and step by step how-to. I’ll definitely be trying it out with my next big hen!
